  1. Papa, I have a friend who was at the Lewis Co. game, and I know it may be he said she said stuff, but from what he told me, Lewis dominated from the start and Waverly couldn't do much on offense. Thats kind of what I'm going by plus just looking at yall's schedule. Didn't mean to offend. Its just my opinion that Huntingdon has played a MUCH tougher schedule than SC and their losses could be expected or at least not totally surprising. I'm not trying to downplay Waverly's win over SC at all, I'm just simply stating my opinion. I have a feeling this time tommorrow night my prediction of a big Huntingdon win will be true. Good luck to both teams and to Waverly the rest of the way.
  2. Look, call me a SC hater if you want. I don't really care, but the fact is that Stewart County has beaten NOBODY!!!! They lost to Waverly....Waverly!!! I'm sorry papatiger and all you other Waverly fans, but the Tigers aren't a very strong team this year - and they beat Stewart County. I have seen both Stewart County and Huntingdon play this year and I don't even think it will be close tomorrow night. Granted, Huntingdon has lost several games and are not near as good as they have been in the past - but I still think they are head and shoulders above Stewart County. I promise you this, if I am wrong, and SC wins, then I will gladly come on this post Saturday and eat my crow. But I SERIOUSLY doubt this game will be in question in the fourth quarter and the Stangs will win it. I am not a SC hater, I'm really indifferent to them. I am also definately not a Huntingdon fan, I am just using past examples, strength of schedule, and common sense to come to my conclusion. Huntingdon will win and win handily Stangs - 35 Rebels - 14
  3. Someone, at some point, must have said something to criticize the coaches. That is the only reason that fans would be banned from the field after a game. I would be willing to bet that it has nothing to do with a new track or the field condition. I must say, I have never seen a thread where fans from the SAME TEAM are so harsh to one another. It doesn't do much to combat the public perception the HC is falling apart at the seams (both the football team and the fan base). I'm sure all your future opponents are loving what they see on this board.
  4. No doubt the Tyner record is wrong, but I got this poll from the AP top ten link off of murphyfair.com. I didn't notice that at first or else I wouldn't have put that on there.
  5. Yes, GP got beat 24-14 by Happy Valley and Tyner lost to Marion County 30-20
  6. Ok, I will go ahead and get the Alcoa lovefest out of the way. They are number one again and deservedly so. Truth be told there is probably no one in 2A that will come close to them this year. That being said, what does everyone think about the other nine teams in the top ten? Do they belong there? Is your team ranked too high, too low, not at all? CLASS 2A Record Pts Prev 1. Alcoa (18) (3-1) 201 2. Milan (2) (4-0) 187 3. Lewis County (4-0) 164 4. Westmoreland (1) (5-0) 136 5. Boyd Buchanan (4-0) 113 6. York Institute (4-0) 109 7. Sequatchie County (1) (5-0) 87 8. Tyner Academy (4-0) 69 9. University-Jackson (4-0) 30 10. Gatlinburg-Pittman (4-0) 24 Others receiving 12 or more points: 11, Happy Valley 22. 12, Marion County 16. 13, Hickman County 13. 14, Camden 12.
  7. Bob, love your enthusiasm, but the name of the town Lewis Co. High is in is spelled HoHenwald - not HoWenwald. No harm meant, just a friendly tip.
  8. I apologize tigersfan, I should give Marco credit for at least one score, he was amazing.
  9. Alcoa vs. Mt. Pleasant with Mt.P playing without Marco Daily 70-0 Alcoa, Alcoa vs. Mt. Pleasant with Mt.P having Marco Daily 63-0 Alcoa This is a ridiculous thread
  10. You might be the first person I have ever heard of to WANT to go back to a Wing-t from the spread. A self-aware man, I can respect that. Most people think the Wing-t is boring and too old, but its like you say, if it works, it works. I have heard alot about Hickman going to the spread and it not taking as well as the Wing-t that Swenson ran did. Is it the general consensus in Centerville that the Wing-t was better than the new spread is? Just curious
  11. It is really kind of crazy that Hickman County isn't in the top ten. The absence of them and Camden really baffles me. I gotta be honest, I don't know much about the east TN teams but those two are certainly deserving. I have seen them both play and they are just as worthy if not more worthy as Lewis Co., and I like the Lewis Co program alot. But like many of you have said, the polls mean nothing in high school football (thank Goodness!) and it all will get decided on the field - eventually.
  12. I am from West Tennessee. I do think its a shame Camden isn't on this list, its just an overall lack of knowledge by the voters. However, I would still like to know who all Camden could beat on this list. It wasn't meant to rile you up, just get a Camden fan's honest opinion.
  13. Unless Lewis Co. gets a whole lot better at tackling this game could get out of hand. There doesn't seem to be many big hitters left on the Panthers' squad.
  14. Kick off is at seven. Mt. Pleasant is running the wing t with some option stuff. They have good athletes that can go. Should be a great game!
  15. Wow, sounds like we should just forfeit 2a high school football in Tennessee and just play one game in December, Milan v. Alcoa. Careful boys, careful. Pride can be a dangerous thing.
  16. This is for Lewis County and Mt. Pleasant fans to talk. Start another thread for Collinwood and Wayne County please.
  17. A message to all fans for both teams...... I don't know if you were at the first game, but the intensity before that game was unbelievable and it will be even greater this week. If you are thinking of staying home because it might be cold, or raining, or whatever....buy yourself a heavy jacket and a pancho because you will want to be at Tomahawk Stadium for this game. Both teams are very good and should be really exited for this game. If you have plans, and they don't include going to the game, then drop them. It will be worth the price of admission, I can guarantee you that. WC fans did a great job of coming in force last game and I don't expect that to be any different this week. I thought the WC fans were about as good of fans as possible. They yelled loud for their team, they were respectful, and they did not leave early, even when the game got a little out of hand. I don't think leaving early will be an option this week, Riverdale fans - show up like you always do, and GET LOUD!!
  18. Amen Brother, finally someone who makes a little sense on here FOR EITHER SIDE. And please stop talking about Smyrna on this thread, create a new thread if you want about Riverdale and Smyrna but leave it off of this one. This thread is for people who want to talk about the Wilson Central vs. Riverdale game.

    Seriously?

So does Riverdale have to travel in the quarterfinals this year? I was just looking at the tssaa website and I wasn't able to tell. It says Region 4 would have to play away in the quarters, but doesn't record count anymore? Basically, is this new rule just applying to teams with identical records or what?
