  1. Duckman, all that i have heard about Comer is that he is on the fence about all this mess. I don't think he wants to leave but it's a 50/50 chance. But i kind of feel like he will stay.
  2. The only program that i see around here is Clarksburg.....Bruceton.....West Carroll. McKenzie and Huntingdon aren't programs....they are fully loaded teams. At least these two teams can make it to sub-state and they have made state championship appearances.
  3. All I have heard in town or on here is whether or not Coach Comer is leaving. Personally I hope he doesn't. I've known him for about 9 to 10 years now and have been with him for 4 years on friday nights. Ever since I started going and watching McKenzie football, Coach Comer has been awesome, he has been the best coach McKenzie has had. All the players love to play for him. They want to play for him. From what I heard the board is too cheap to give him a raise. Which in my opinion he deserves one. From taking this team from only going to the 1st or 2nd round playoffs to a team that has been making appearances in the Semi-finals and the State Championship. He has been awesome and I would want to see him stay and see him every friday night on that sideline. "The old lessons (work, self-discipline, sacrifice, teamwork, fighting to achieve) aren't being taught by many people other than football coaches these days. The football coach has a captive audience and can teach these lessons because the communication lines between himself and his players are more wide open than between kids and parents. We better teach these lessons or else the country's future population will be made up of a majority of crooks, drug addicts, or people on relief." --Paul "Bear" Bryant
  4. Coach Comer is not going anywhere other than McKenzie...
  5. After breaking a school record of six shutouts and having an outstanding season, how will the REBELS of McKenzie bounce back.
  6. I believe in Class 1A, Jo Byrns RB #44 will be productive.....In 2A, I believe McKenzie's own Jake Johnson will be very productive in the '09 season.
  7. One heck of a season for the REBELS. They accomplished a lot this year: 6 shutouts, 3-year winning streak against Huntingdon, and went back to the Semi-Finals when nobody expected us to get there.....This year was a lil shocking and most of all, it was great. They made a good run for a 2nd BlueCross Bowl appearance in a row. And we all hope that next season, even though we are in 2A, will be as great and fun. This being my senior year, it was awesome to watch last years team and see this team grow up and feel a bunch of players shoes from last year. The seniors stepped up and became leaders.....Best of luck next season to Coach Comer and his REBELS... GO BIG RED.... "There is no substitution for guts." -- Paul "Bear" Bryant
  8. Jo Byrns has come off a great game, McKenzie has come off a great game...Jo Byrns is a good team, McKenzie is a good team. Who knows how this game will turn out in the end. People on here keep on saying that this could be the end of the road for the REBELS....but you never know. All you people can keep on saying that Jo Byrns will be playing next week, thats fine but I wouldn't count the REBELS out just yet. Some say this years team is too young and that we just can't get there but we can. We have suprised everyone on how far we have gotten in the playoffs so don't count them out yet. But like always, "It doesn't matter who has the strongest or the weakest team, or who has the best players or the worst, all that matters it the score at the end of the game under those Friday Night Lights." So good luck to both teams but even more good luck to the MCKENZIE REBELS!!!!!! "It's not the will to win that matters--everyone has that. It's the will to prepare to win that matters." --Paul "Bear" Bryant
  9. Go Henry Co. ......make a good run to state. We're pullin for yall all the way
  10. Last weeks game was great. I tip the hat to Union City, what a season for them. But now to this week, McKenzie at Lake Co. The first time these two teams meet it ended with a win for Lake Co. But us down here in McKenzie have forgotten about that whole game. We are set on this week. I will admit Lake Co. pulled some tricks and succeeded most of them. But you never know how these games will go. But like I always say, "It doesn't matter who has the best players or the biggest, or who is stronger, or faster....all that matters is the score at the end of the game on the board." So best of luck to McKenzie on the successful season....Good luck REBELS "If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride - and never quit, you'll be a winner. The price of victory is high but so are the rewards." --Bear Bryant
  11. Well obviously we weren't that weak tonight but we're not cryin we never were but yall might be now..
  12. What happened to the little redneck ### kicking.....and your on here sayin that we didn't shake yalls hands last time even when we did because we have respect for any team that beats us or loses to us. The issue is that it's sad when a grown man from union city tells a lil 12 year old to go stink his mom's ####.....now thats disrespectful and mainly just stupid......but anyways to the game. It was a good, hard fought game and especially congrats to the Tornadoes on their 2008 season.
  13. Well as I recall some of yall said last time the game was going to be bad but yall almost lost it...Now i will say the refs didn't screw us, we just didn't come out and play in the 1st half. But keep thinking it will be a blow out just wait and see.... ???There's no substitute for guts.??? -- Paul "Bear" Bryant
  14. What happened with Region 8A. People on here were sayin that Region 8A was going to be good and 7A might not have a chance. What happened. Every Region 8A team was eliminated Friday night.....Region 7A could do very well in the playoffs if they just show up to play every week, especially Union City, McKenzie, and Lake County.,.
  15. Friday night the REBELS of McKenzie showed that they still have the heart for the championship run. Here we are in the 2nd round of playoffs and we have a rematch. Union City played well against us earlier in the season but we beat ourselves some. I'm not saying that this will be a close game or a blow out but i will say that this game could get interesting like Friday night with McKenzie and Manassas. But like i always say "It doesn't matter who has what or how good you are, all that matters is the score at the end of the game." But we are taking it one game at a time. This could be a hard hitting and a physical game /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> . GO GET 'EM REBELS!!!!!!!!!!! “Show class, have pride, and display character. If you do, winning takes care of itself.” --Paul "Bear" Bryant
