  1. I sure do hope all these McKenzie folks remember how to log back in here after the game. Funny how many Hampton talkers just skipped coming back and went straight to the basketball message boards. If I'm wrong I'll be glad to log back on and say so. But having seen McKenzie, they won't stop South Pitt even once. Unless South Pitt fumbles, like they did against Hampton, its over by early in the second half. And you can disguise that cute little finesse offense with two TEs all you want, but the Rebels are about to get smacked in the mouth.
  2. Sorry McKenzie, good season and all, and enjoy displaying that silver trophy, but this won't be close. At all. Mercy rule in the title game - South Pitt 54, Rebels 14
  3. Fellas, all I'm saying is these boards are loads of fun for us to talk trash about the game and what we think/hope will happen with our teams. But if anyone truly doesn't see what's wrong with posting comments such as "a dog will beat a racoon" or having the conferderate flag included then you have to be a complete idiot. Everybody knows these posts are printed and used by both teams as bulletin board material but typically all the words on here are forgotten once both teams have hit each other a few times. But I can promise you that racial slurs, whether you want to believe that's what it was, are NOT forgotten and all it does is set a tone for the game both on the field and in the stands that could lead to an ugly situation. Call anybody you want clueless for their scoring predictions, but the only truly clueless people on here are those bringing confederate flags and racial slurs onto a high school chat board. There's no place for it and I hope the ones responsible stay home so that the rest of us can enjoy a good game.
  4. What amazes me most is you have Hampton, which has never done anything besides beat up on other mediocre upper east TN teams before getting pounded in the semis, debating with a group of fans, many of whom have witnessed some of the best football in 1A. Three state titles, three more runner up finishes and some classic games in the 1990s against the likes of Trousdale, DCA when those teams were at their peak. It's fun to debate and rattle each other's cages, but just remember Pirates fans, you have to excuse ignorance and Hampton folks simply don't recognize state championship caliber teams until they've been beaten by them again in the semis. Let them say what they want for now and just remind them come Saturday. Ya'll should have some pretty good posts waiting for you by the time you get back home Saturday, that is unless you choose not to come back in the room.
  5. I've seen Hampton's last 2 game films and I must admit I will have to change my prediction of a 3 TD win for South Pitt. Midway is horrible and the next person that compares their "speed" with South Pitt's is going to see how little they really know come Friday. But its not just speed, South Pitt's OL-DL is very strong, and this thing will be 4 TDs at least. I'm not trying to push buttons here, just a courtesy to the fans from upper East TN. With gas prices the way they are, do yourself a favor - stay home and rent deliverance again because it will be much more enjoyable than seeing what South Pitt is about to unload. Believe this, if Hampton had played Gordonsville last week, the Bulldogs would be done by now. Gordonsville is a much more sound defensive team and their QB-FS was a good player. I can't say all of Regions 1-2 were weak as some are, but the last 2 teams were certainly mediocre at best by the standards of Region 4. I'm also glad that so many of these people that are soooo in love with the Trousdale team from 2 years ago will finally find a new opponent to fall in love with. Should give ya'll something to talk about on the long, sad ride home. And by the way, whoever it was that posted Trousdale had 5 D-I signees that year, that is ridiculous. I have nothing but respect for that program but that's not even close. Please name the schools those kids signed with. 1A teams simply don't put that many into the D-I ranks in one year. I know I'm going to get blistered for this by Hampton folks, and many of the South Pitt fans won't like it because they think the same thing but are trying to be more hospitable. I'm too honest to hold my tongue. It's going to be a lot closer to Hook being right than the 1-2 TD most think it will.
  6. If you're going to post and question someone else's intelligence, I would advise you to at least spell "conference" correctly. And it would also be "give me a B-R-E-A-K" notice: break....unless you wanted someone to hand you that thing that slows or stops your car. And since you got all hot and bothered to call someone else out on their "smarts" its also "you're smarter" notice a contraction of "you are". Now that the english lesson is over....I truly hope all these Hampton folks won't duck out of this thread after the game. I'm anxious to see them 'fess up that although they were a good high school team by upper East Tennessee standards, they simply could not compete with what South Pitt puts on the field. And please stop making the comparisons to the '01 semifinal at Cloudland. That S. Pitt team went into the playoffs with a 6-4 record and got waxed by Boyd in the regular season. They were barely the second best team in their region and got as far as they did with smoke and mirrors. This year's team is up to the standards of a typical Pirates state contender and you'll have a long ride back home to discuss that very point after at least a 3-TD loss. And yes, it will be that bad. If you want to call me out on that prediction, then please ...puh-leeez....at least have the guts to log back in here after the game and admit those of us who know its coming and called it were right.
  7. I held responding to this until after watching the replay of the game today. I couldn't remember any taunts, but wanted to make sure. After watching the replay, after all 5 of SP's TDs the back trotted to the official and handed them the ball. No celebration, no finger pointing. It's been pointed out here several times about the G'ville kid grabbing his crotch and shaking it at the SP fans as well as a G'ville kid doing the same at LV last week. But G'ville's 23 is caught on tape several times running his mouth after plays - specifically at Weatherspoon after a tackle and late in the game G'ville's 56 comes after SP's QB for a cheap shot on Robinson's last TD run. That resulted in off-setting unsportsmanlike penalties when the SP QB retaliated. Unless you have specific instances of a SP kid taunting someone, you should keep your mouth shut. It sounds like a lot of sour grapes for getting your rear-end handed to you. Or it could be something a lot of longtime SP fans have felt is a biased against the team by white fans/refs who look for reasons to dislike a team with a lot of good players, many of whom happen to be African-American. Unless you have proof of taunting its either that you're so completely consumed with Tigers football that you can't stand losing, or you literally see things as black and white. If that's the case, that view doesn't belong in sports at any level, especially at the high school level. Take your loss, stop whining and making up phantom taunting calls and start practicing basketball like the rest of Region 4.
  8. So here we go. FCS gets their butts handed to them and its because TC coach gave SPitt a few tapes. Shouldn't you be in the basketball chat rooms by now? I believe this room is reserved for teams still alive in the football playoffs, not those having to buy a ticket and watch. You got hammered. Stop whining and add something constructive and new to the conversation. Geez.
  9. Fellas, it just doesn't get much better than to still be practicing football on Thanksgiving week. It used to be the semifinal round was this week, which was great because there were even fewer teams still being talked about. But this is what everybody that loves high school football waits all year for - a little colder Friday nights and most of the rest of the Chatt-town area teams are done, so it should be a huge crowd. I would expect a lot of Chatt folks from Region 3 and just general fans, as well as a lot of Region 4 folks to be there, not to mention I've heard a lot of N. Jackson fans coming, so Beene Stadium should have a great atmosphere. Who knows, the game might even get a little media attention. Hope both teams stay healthy.
  10. With North Jackson losing and Red Bank - the only Chattanooga team still alive - on the road, I'm guessing this could be an overflow crowd. It's also a good place for college recruiters to make a stop and check on some potential talent. Can anyone from G'ville say whether the QB, Smith, is being recruiting. I know he's too small to be recruited as a QB, but he's also a good enough athlete to be a DB at some level. Just curioius who might be looking at the kid.
  11. Would suggest you read the board rules, before you go posting something like that.
  12. Settle down. I didn't say you specifically called for a sweep, just a lot of others. This isn't a personal thing, K? Also, I wasn't aware you had to be a CoachT member for a certain amount of time before you're allowed to post. I've read most of the posts on here and thought it might be fun to join in, but I'll admit I'm new and wasn't clear on the rules, so I suppose I'll just wait a bit longer before continuing to post further. Just let me know how much longer I have to wait before I can support the Pirates. It's fine, since they'll be around for another three weeks. Maybe by then I'll have met the required membership time and can push buttons for the good folks from Jo Byrns or McKenzie or whatever team makes it out of the west. I respect G'ville's team. They have a fine tradition and reason to be proud. But its the fans who get to poke at each other. So just remember it's all in fun. Don't let me climbing up on my barn to crow about the Pirates ruin your weekend or your holiday.
  13. I've got no problem with anybody supporting their team or region, but I remember all the talk of a Region 4 sweep before the playoffs started and I just wanted to remind a few folks of that. As I said, it is fun to push people's buttons about something they are passionate about but if folks are going to be that touchy, they probably should go see a movie Friday and avoid Beene Stadium or else they're going to be aggravated for a couple of hours. Pack a lunch, boys, it's gonna be a loooong night. But look on the bright side, G'ville can join their Region 4 brethren in basketball practice come Saturday. I actually do think this game should be a lot closer than the previous two b/c G'ville is more experienced and more talented than TC and in all the years I've seen the Tigers play, I know they won't quit like FC did. I respect G'ville, always have. I knew last year they were about to roll when I saw them in warmups, but I also know the SP line used that game, where they got physically manhandled, to get much stronger. Now SP has the strength up front and are not just a speed team. That's the reason I don't see it being any closer than 3 TDs.
  14. I know Monterey is in Region 4. That was the point. I was saying you can even invite non-playoff teams from that arrogant region to pool their resources and give South Pitt a challenge. Heck, if Clay Co., Mt. Juliet Christian or RBS wants to help out, that's fine, too. I doubt anything anyone on here says will not "do any favors" for a team. The game is won on the field, not in chat rooms, and with that said, unless South Pitt forgets what time kick off is or lays the ball on the ground at least 4 times, they move on. These forums are for people to debate, brag and even push others' buttons. Glad I found yours so easily.
  15. All I have heard all year is how tough Region 4 is. Okay, 2 weeks and South Pitt is still waiting for somebody from that region to challenge them. Granted, Trousdale's kids showed a lot of heart and played their tails off and the coaching staff does as good a job as anybody in the state. But they were outmanned bigtime. FCS fans bragged a lot, but after what I saw Friday, that team needs to visit the wizard and get a heart. Once South Pitt hit them in the mouth, FCS wanted none. For all his yards against Region 4, Rickaway was getting to the sideline and out of bounds as quick as he could against the Pirates. I must say I'm enjoying the fact that Region 4 continues to have doubters. Maybe you guys can put together an all-region team that could give the Pirates a little test. Heck, we'll even let you throw in any Monterey players for good measure.
