  1. Thank you! Tennessee was represented really well at the tournament. Out of the 10 weight classes, former TN guys claimed 7 of them!.... and half of those were Johnson's! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> 125- Demetrius Johnson 133- Myself 141- Ben Johnson 157- Kelly Felix 174- David Johnson 197- Tyler Roberson 285- Frankie Morgan Plus Derek Harrison and Ben O'neil were also in the finals but finished second.
  2. Yes. I felt I wrestled pretty well. I got my first college pin and tournament win in the same day... so it went well. The win also qualified me for the national tournament in March. I won my finals match 10-9 to a guy from Spartanburg Methodist, who we will dual tomorrow, so I will have to prove myself once more against him in SC. Should be interesting.
  3. Joel got OW in the upper weights? That's great! Good job Joel! Who was the light weight?... and best match?
  4. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Ha! Not quite "Myers Brand" material... but pretty good.
  5. Right... like you've ever beaten K-DAWG /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> Sunday night... you know where. You....Me..... and Gaurdian. Bring your ;-- (/popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> PS. All I have to say about McCallie is "Upset on mat 1!" /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  6. Now porkchop, I know for a fact that those Greeneville english teachers have taught you better than to start sentences with AND. You should know better than that..... "In Case" you don't go to class. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  7. Yeah... we were pushing our luck not having Charlie, Joel, or Whitehead in the lineup. Some younger guys stepped up and some young guys messed up. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> But they pulled it off and it was very fun to watch /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> Good job Greene Devils! And a special congratulations to Micheal Parr who didn't stop wrestling til the end and pulled off an important win for Greeneville! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  8. According to today's rankings, Marable is now at #7 for 65 and Leen is at #5 for 57! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  9. "Dee Dee" is a Real good wrestler. Who is he wrestling for?
  10. A note for 45 and 52: Justin Myers has now made the drop to 45 so him and Tyler Aiken from Greeneville will switch weight classes and stay there for the rest of the year.
  11. Look for another Myers to step in as a small 103 for Greeneville next year. Hopefully he'll be able to gain a little bit of weight, but regardless, he should compete well as a freshman next year.
  12. Watson is tough! I watched him compete last year at AAU tournaments, and even as an 80lb 7th grader he had the skill level of some high school state medalists. He is just so smooth and technical for being so young! I will be very surprised if a Tennessee 103 can beat him this year! I hear, and beleive, he hardly weighs 100. That he doesn't have to cut any weight.... Wouldn't surprise me.
  13. David Johnson is still wrestling at King and is supposed to be at 57. So far he has only been able to make that weight for the Carson Newman dual. He did not compete at Penn state this following weekend. He backed out the day before because he was sick /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" ......and maybe just a little over weight. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> As for the post in the Kaufman/Brand board about his win over a nationally ranked DII guy, he did not wrestle in the 1st tournament King was at so that is not true. His back up Tim Paige (Freshman from Mt. Tabor high school NC) did, however, beat a highly ranked NAIA wrestler. Hopefully soon David can get his weight under control, and he will add greatly to teams' the dual strength.
  14. HA HA!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> "That was two hands.... put it down." "Go ahead, I'll give you three seconds.... 1," BAM! /bored.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bored:" border="0" alt="bored.gif" /> HA!... poor freshmen.
  15. Matt is a hard worker and works all through the year. I know you love the attention though Matt /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />... who wouldn't? You'll get Manly before it's over with! He's a tough wrestler. Keep up the good work! (play less dodgeball!) /bored.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bored:" border="0" alt="bored.gif" />
  16. This is pretty much the same situation as talked about in the other weight question topic, just with a different weight class. If he weighed 112 he could wrestle 25 if he wanted and still cut to 103 AS LONG AS HE FOLLOWS HIS DECENT CHART (and of course he has to be allowed to make the drop) There is no rule stating that a kid can't wrestle a weight class two classes below what he's wrestled previously in the season. There still is the rule, however, that a wrestler can't bump up more than two weight classes above the one he weighed in at. That might be the rule you're thinking of.
  17. The hill is a lot younger and less experienced team than the years Bo was there. They are in a rebuilding stage right now.... so that probably wasn't the best example. Knox Catholic is a very tough tournament though. The Bo example was a good one: I beleive his junior year he lost to Manson in the finals and his senior year he lost to Bundy. That's 3 state champions right there (Three 2x state champions). Plenty of state chapions attend that tournament every year, both from TN and GA. Besides... what tournament isn't tough when Baylor's in the mix?
  18. It's good to see the Morristown schools going to Knox Catholic this weekend. Good to have a couple other Region 1 schools represented! I see that The Hill decided to go to Ooltewah though... If I'm not mistaken, it's been quite a few years since they've missed the Catholic tournament. Wherever you'll be....Good luck to Region 1 this weekend! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. http://tssaa.org/schedules/doschedules.cfm...20I%20Wrestling There ya go Kev-O /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  20. I guess it's a little late now since you said the match was tonight, but I don't see any reason why your kid wouldn't be able to wrestle 45 after wrestling 60 as long as he stays on track with his gradual drop. For example: if he was supposed to weigh 52 today according to his chart, but weighed in at 59, then the drop would start over at 59 which would put him not able to wrestle 45 until a later date. IN FACT... Greeneville wrestled their 45 pounder (after Knox Catholic) up at 60 tonight so I assume Coach Brimer has not heard of this rule either. I know he will be wrestling 45 after the Catholic tournament and coach would not have wrestled him up if this would jeopardize him being able to. (How convenient that I have that perfect example huh?) /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  21. First of all the rule states 1.5% per WEEK (not day) I found on the TSSAA website a powerpoint on the whole process and the rules: Powerpoint The information on your question is on the last page but I didn't see anything stating how many weight classes a wrestler was allowed to wrestle up. It might just not be stated there, but that is the most informational thing I found. Hope that helps. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
