I'll have to say that this team impresses me much more than in '08. I think it's because the defense is absolutely outstanding. Barring injuries (even just a couple), we're going to be hard to beat for just about anyone in the state.

Thompson for Harrelson can outrun most people at mid-speed. He's also touching rim at 5'10". He's a true athlete.

If they can pass it effectively, it may be a closer game. Our passing defense looked a bit shaky on Friday night. That receiver for Liberty had a good two or three steps behind the DB's when he caught the pass. Hopefully that will be addressed in practice this week.

Dickson is doing well, but only beat Springfield by 1 in Dickson tonight. Should prove to be an interesting game.

I agree that some parents (or likely parent) have no control of their children. This is not a problem created by teachers, coaches, or administrators. You're not a very good teacher if you don't know what's going on with your students.

terrible test scores on both Gateway and the ACT...large dropout/failure rate of college freshman who attended HCHS. Go up there one day and see how bad it is now.

i couldn't help but laugh at this post...because it's true. 1. true 2. true...so true that HCHS is a joke of the academic institution that it used to be. it all pays off that we win at sports and let the kids play games in class and are woefully under prepared for college or the real world...all for the sake of winning. sad.

You are right about several things. Number one...Miles has made a good hire (if it's Counce)...Number two...Counce has a proven track record...Number three...this is not soccer...Number four...Nobody needs to sing Kumbaya...Number five...just line up and bloody their nose...NUMBER SIX...this is a business...THEREFORE...grow a brain and do NOT disrespect your own staff members who have applied! Since this is a BUSINESS, then call in your assistants who applied and explain to them that Counce will be hired and why. These assistants have just coached through the WINNINGEST era in Henry County football history...don't they deserve at least that much (especially since this is a business)? therein lies the problem...
