  1. You said it brother, why if you or your child were raised in a community and some out of county or state players came in to go for a Gold ball, and transformed your game into a Endust or Pledge commercial, you would have absolutely no problem with that and I applaud that. Fact still remains, however unpreventable it is, some "home grown" players will have a not so pleasant, or miserable, high school basketball experience because of certain programs quest (and maybe an obligation) for a Gold Ball. Yes it will make some stronger, lifes not fair, yadda, yadda, I've heard all that. We may just have to agree to disagree. This sounds like a political or religious debate. Have a nice day! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  2. You are right. Congratulations Lady Wildcats on a great win /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> !
  3. From what I've observed, they have to run the ship sometimes. One coach yells one thing and another yells something else in the heat of battle, what are they supposed to do? They look lost sometimes and I think this is the reason why. Need one coach / one voice, especially during the game. This may be one of the reasons why Coach Fryer's team always looks better coached? Still gets won by the team on the court, I'm going with the Cats at home!
  4. I've watched WC teams for a long time and I may agree with some of the evaluation. They've been road warriors so far with very little home court time so the big advantage hasn't been necessary so far. The 3 franchise players you speak of are good players and had a lot of playing time last year along side 2 very good team mates in Williams and Jenkins. Much was said at the end of last season about the team not being able to continue at this level this year. Not sure what the record was at this time last year but I know they didn't win the Greeneville tournament. So I imagine this year is holding it's own in the W column. Of course there's still a lot of ball yet to play so the whole year can't be compared. I'm just saying it's a team sport and putting added expectations on some players puts them under more pressure while taking away self confidence in the other players. My coach always drilled into our heads "you win as a team and lose as a team, no stars here" I'm no coach, just my 2 cents worth
  5. IMHO - This is not something that needs to be proved or exposed, it's just a way of life these days. This is something that a coach or parent deals with when they look in the mirror. We had an opportunity to go elsewhere, but the off the court long standing friendships, going back to elementary school won out over increased exposure on the hardwood at a new school. From what I've seen over the years watching this sport is the victories by homegrown teams, or close to one, are cause for celebration with the kids, parents, community, and coaches. A team victory with transfers look more like an AAU victory (all business). I imagine the White County teams in the 90's as posted here, may agree.
  6. Agree totally, many legitimate homegrowns may never get any real playing time because of the girls who move. It is a much more celebrated occasion when one of these homegrown teams goes all the way. And I applaud any coach that sticks to that philosophy. I'd be curious to know how many homegrowns are starting at the top programs right now.
  7. I'm going with WC. Word has it it's such a big game that Dad B has been working out to avoid any Rotator injury from the patented hand flings. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  8. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> How do you top that? Congrats Ladies!!!
