  1. Once again, it's all political when it comes to these polls. It was the same last year, Clarksville's Northeast Lady Eagles had accumulated wins just as the teams mentioned in this poll and still wasn't recognized or even ranked. Last year these young ladies were still in the hunt for a state title and the media had teams that were put out of the tournament still ranked. Imagine that! Now a new year with the same result, no ranking at all. The only teams that are noticed are the teams that are close to Nashville and the teams from the Nashville or Memphis areas. It's a shame that the young ladies of this team have to endure all of these bias opinions because of where they live. What happen to being acknowledged for your basketball talent? The coach and these young ladies deserve better than what the media coverage is doing for them in this state. GO LADY EAGLES!! /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  2. I could not agree with you more myself. I see that this entire state is all political at the highest. How can you take and make Co-Coaches of the year when clearly Northeast beat DC both times and unless things have changed, if two teams ended with the same record, the team that has won against the other normally is #1 out-right. To give the Player of the Year award to Hamilton and not Williams of Northeast, clearly shows that politics plays a great part within this County and District. It should not have anything to do with who the family is or how long they have been within the County or District, it should be due to the performance of the athlete throughout the basketball season. The same goes for the coach as well! No one wants to give Coach Mason-Blair her the out-right respect that she deserves as being the Coach of the year, and the same goes for the young star Kamiko Williams as well. People have written on this site that Northeast has not had a leader this year, but if you truly look back at the entire season and it was very evident throughout the District Tournament, who the true leader of the Lady Eagles was and should have been voted without a doubt as the Player of the year, even though she is a junior! So again yes people should speak exactly what they mean and stop sugar coating things on this forum! Congrats Lady Eagles, District 10 AAA Champions 2007 & 2008!!! Job well done!! /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  3. I have a question, since the publish of this article has anyone referenced the area that talks about the #23 NR, Roosevelt (Greenbelt, Md.) (10-1) Team? It states "To remain Tennessee's best, the Wildcats need to beat perennial power Shelbyville Central at home on Saturday. Center Jasmine Hassell will have to do the heavy lifting" I ask this because this sounds like the team Wilson Central of 10 AAA in Tennessee. "GO LADY EAGLES"! /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  4. YES, that's normally how it works but I must remember that you're asking about Dickson being #1 vs Northeast being #1. "GO LADY EAGLES" /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  5. The question, Do you think Kamiko is good enough to go to UT? ANSWER: YES! YES! YES! Kamiko is a perfect guard for UT playing in the SEC. Kamiko can play the point guard position without a doubt and she is also a great rebounder at the guard position as well. When you think of her playing a role for UT, just think of ALEXIS HORNBUCKLE. Kamiko has that mid-range game that compliments the Lady VOLS. What a great combination! /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> "GO LADY EAGLES"
  6. No I think you better take a second look in AAA and don't over look Northeast Point Guard, Kamiko Williams. At 5'11", she not only plays the guard position, she is a heck of a rebounder and defender on the court as well. Last year this kid averaged 22pts, 11rbs as a Sophmore and her team made it to the state semi-finals. So far this year this kid is averaging about 20pts, 8rbs, 3blk, 9assist a game from the Point Guard position leading her team which is 9-1 in 10AAA District play. So my guess is she has a good chance as anyone when you are discussing who's who in AAA receiving votes for Ms. Basketball. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  7. Ms. Williams is going to try and practice this week and see where she stands in terms of playing with a knee brace / knee sleeve. The tendons behind her knee is the real problem hopefully all is well. As for my prediction, I truly thought Kenwood would win since they looked so good with their effort against Northeast. Oh well, we're all entitled to a mistake every now and then. Go "Lady Eagles"! /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  8. Not to often if ever! The picks I chose are for the more talented teams within the conference. I strongly feel that Northeast can win even though Junior Point Guard, Ms. Williams is out due to her knee problem. Go "Lady Eagles"! /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  9. Northeast, without Ms. Williams Dickson Northwest Kenwood Go "Lady Eagles" /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  10. You are correct, Ms. Hamilton is a very smart player and I agree totally on that. I think Ms. Williams is just as smart and she definitely makes her team better. Take a look, Ms. Williams plays the point for her team and the scoring is pretty balanced, but her talents just stands over the other young ladies on her team and the entire 10 AAA division. I was informed the two young ladies (Ms. Hamilton & Ms. Williams) played on the same AAU team (Tennessee Team Pride) this past summer. Ms. Williams and the #2 player in the country (Ms. Glory Johnson) were the two stand outs who made the players around them much better. Go "Lady Eagles"! /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  11. Well since you asked, the coach of Northeast (Mason-Blair) is doing a great job of ensuring that all of her players receive the same treatment all the time. Ms. Williams was out during the time frame leading up to the Henry County game, i.e. (did not practice because of her knee injury) and this is why Ms. Williams did not start the game. As stated before, just ask the coach! Again, do not be upset with me because I'm very proud of the Lady Eagles and their continued success. If I did not talk about them, no one will! It was very evident last year and this team went to the State Semi-finals. Now here's a new season, new year and all I see is the talk about Dickson County in 10 AAA. I think Northeast Lady Eagles are currently ranked #1 in 10 AAA. Also can you tell me "the new CoachT member" why isn't Kamiko Williams ranked or even mentioned as a Top Prospect in Tennessee as stated about other athletes on this website, seeing as though you have been a member longer than I? Sources say that Ms. Williams was a Top Ten scorer and rebounder, 22 pts & 11 rbs in the state last year. Can you assist me with understanding this? Thanks in advance! /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  12. It's great to communicate in this forum. I see we can post what was on the web, but once again we must not assume anything. Did you ask the coach what was meant? Well I've been told the real deal. You should talk to the coach before you mis-lead people and accuse the coach with your post. I can speak from the stand point of talking with the Williams family during an event, Kamiko has only been out for the Independence game due to her injury. I can't speak for Ms. Jackson. As stated before, ask the coach if you don't know and please do not assume anything. This creates un-necessary rumors! Go Lady Eagles!! /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  13. I think I was right on target with my research, posted by The Leaf Chronicle 12 December 2007, Kelsey Hamilton 9 pts. I do not make the news, I just read and report it. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  14. Ms. Williams did not play in this game by doctor's orders. She had strained some tendons in her knee suffered during the Dickson County game in which she led her team to victory scoring 25 pts. I think the Senior Ms. Hamilton only scored 9pts. Oh by the way, I do not see any comments on how the Lady Eagles are undefeated in 10 AAA behind the leadership of Ms. Williams. I see why she is highly recruited by the Hall of Famer Pat Summitt, and she is only a Junior!
