  1. State Dual Tournament confirmed the following: Chattanooga (Cleveland) area is still dominant. Had 4 of the 6 Finalist. Middle Tennessee did not perform as well as many people thought (Certain team peaking) or another team being pushed as a possible contender. Red Bank is on the rise and Coach Turner is to be commemnded. Father Ryan keeps getting challenged in Middle Tennessee by certain people only to be disappointed. I don't know what was worse, the start of the Father Ryan vs Baylor match or the Bradley vs Soddy Daisy match. Officiating: I do not know where to start or end. The officiating this weekend was embarrassing. This is the state tournament and these kids work hard all year to try to win a state championship only to have unqualified officials call their matches and blow call after call. If the TSSAA only has a few qualified officials to call, they should call every match at the state. Do not put officials that are not capable of handling the situation in that position. I call them the "Not Ready For Prime Time Officials". This is not the place to work in new officials to call the tournament because they can cause disaster for a wrestler. These wrestlers deserve better and it should be demanded from the TSSAA. This weekend was terribly officiated. Thoughts?
  2. Best match of the day goes to the Beech vs Science Hill match. Both teams fought their tails off until the very end with Science Hill winning on criteria. If I am not mistaken, I believe they won because of more 6-point wins. Both teams won 7 matches so I think the next criteria goes to most 6-point wins. Hope to see more dual matches close like this on Saturday. Most of the matches today were lopsided. Most dominating teams: Pigeon Forge; Bradley and Father Ryan. Would love to see dual matches between these teams. These teams appear to be the best in their divisions today; however, Saturday could be different. Good luck to all on Saturday.
  3. pin-tn.com Freeman beat Dooley at 113 lbs. at the G.P.West Invitational. You have him listed in comments but not listed in the top 6. I believe he will place in the top 6 at the Individual Tournament.
  4. How many times has CBHS beat the crap out of FR and visa versa. I will bet you a plate of ribs that CBHS will come up short on this list. If you want to stand on the couple of times CBHS has beaten FR over the all of these years, be my guest and enjoy it. Similar to when Vanderbilt beats UT in football. Not very often. P.S. The ribs at Sugar's are excellent.
  5. Just read the article. That is a shame those young men will not have a chance to compete. This falls on the Head Coach. He should know better. If he is not a wrestling person or does not know what is going on, then I would blame the Administration for creating this problem. Glad to see they will be able to compete at the Individual Regions.
  6. Where was the condemnation? All I said was great job of copying and pasting. Why would I have resentment and where in my post was it? Not ignorance. You defended Sommers when it was not necessary. I guess your shade of ignorance is greater than first thought.
  7. Who said I was mad? Ignorance is not a good color on you; however, you wear it well.
  8. Total fabrication. What's the old saying, "If you tell a lie enough times, people will start to believe it". You are off to a great start here.
  9. Glad to see that you were one that voted to cancel. I know now where you stand. After the beat down this past weekend, I bet you also wanted to cancel this past weekend. A couple of notes as you continue to lie and lie and lie. Father Ryan was taking down their starters and a few backups. Also, NCW was taking down their entire team to Memphis in November. With these 2 combined, you would have had close to 50. As for the wave coming to Nashville, it did not happen the last year. Their studs made the trip and the others stayed behind. They did not bring their entire team. The NCW coaches talked to Garrett about it and he said they do not travel. That is a fact and you need to stop this lying. It does not look good on you. I guess now you will vote to move Father Ryan back to the Middle/East Region. I for one would agree with you on that one. You are upset over the last 2 years of traveling to Nashville, give this some thought. Father Ryan traveled to Memphis last year for the West Region Individual only to beat the crap out of everybody. It was a joke. Father Ryan travels to Memphis again this year for the West Region Duals. Wrestles 28 matches and loses 4. MUS forfeits many weights to Father Ryan. Wrestles CBHS and loses 4 of 14. Another wasted trip. Father Ryan will be traveling back to Memphis in 2 weeks for another beat down on this region. Another huge and wasted expense for the school. This is all precipitated by CBHS as they fought for Regions for DII even though there are fewer than 20 schools. What a joke. Talk about ridiculous, this is the ultimate. The only thing worth going to Memphis for is the ribs. Plain and simple. So fortunate that this does not occur in Chatt town, although I know that Baylor and McCallie both agree that the Region Individuals is a waste. There are fewer than 20 teams, send all wrestlers to the state. Just out of curiosity, what was the size of the crowd? I am sure with this being a good CBHS team that it was packed. Baylor/McCallie crowd was unbelievable. Students were rocking the entire match. Loved the singlets they were wearing.
  10. What happened at 113 lbs that it would be a DQ?
  11. I agree in that it is great that everybody is wrestling everybody; however, you do realize that Father Ryan has run the table on the state this year?
  12. This is going to be great. I can't wait to watch. As usual, it will be a packed house and plenty of fans to tell the officials how to call the match. I will be there early to soak in the atmosphere. This match will come down to bonus points in my opinion. Less than 48 hours away. This might be a chance for McCallie to get revenge after all of these years of defeat to Baylor and help cushion the blow of losing to them in football all of these years. The victor will win by 5 points or less either way. I think it is going to be that close. Please let us see a Murpphy vs Dendy match. That match alone will be worth my price of admission.
  13.   Is this the same Stewart Creek team that said "State or Bust 2015/2016" in an article at the beginning of the year? Just asking.
  14. Hopefully this match will occur. This will prepare both for the State Duals and the State Individuals. Coach Smith has got Bradley going this year and I hope he keeps it going.
  15. Great night of wrestling. Good luck to all teams as they prepare for the state tournament whether it is the State Duals or the Individuals.
  16. The descention plan will not allow until after Christmas for Trey.
  17. You lost me on this one. You are right. Bradley and Cleveland have the same education as the private schools......NOT....You lost all cred.... Observations from the Bradley Tournament: 1.) Ryan looked exhausted 2.) Bradley wrestled great 3.) Ryan missing multiple wrestlers who would have changed the outcome. If they had all of their wrestlers, this would not have been close 4.) Notre Dame - Times are changing 5.) Hicks at 108 for Bradley will be a difference maker 6.) Private schools give financial aid. Public school students go to school for free. You can say that their parents are paying for it with their tax dollars; however, they are also being paid by the parents that send their child to private school with their tax dollars. Who is getting a free ride? 7.) All schools recruit. If you do not believe it, why is there a school with wrestlers from North Georgia on their team????? Just asking. Nothing against them, just asking.... 8.) If a wrestler can go to a public school for nothing, what is the difference if he goes to a private school for nothing? Just asking.... 9.) Recruiting goes both ways. If you do not believe this, you are living in a glass house 10.) Gilmer heavyweight is a beast. Hope to see him on the next level. 11.) Fuller is a beast. P.S. Etowah 220 wrestler is a beast. Looks like his father. P.S.S. We need more Bearcat Brown. P.S.S.S. My granddaughter just got recruited by a public school for chess. They said we need to move to their district. Just kidding......See, it is easy to say.......Ouch!!!!!!
  18. Are you serious? Are you really serious? If so, I would love to take a hit off that bong you have been using. Missing one wrestler would not change the score. I do not even believe Tristin would have won. Do you realize Ryan was missing their starter at 120 lbs. He would have won as well. Keep hitting the bong, you keep us laughing. P.S. What you said about the team not being ready to go is a slap to the face of those wrestlers on Cleveland's team that wrestled that night. They gave it their all. That is not fair to them. It is also a slap in the face of Coach Yost. He did the best he could that night. Coach Yost is better than you give him credit for.
  19. Great predictions. Next time you go to Vegas, call me. I like your pic's. Not!!!!!!!!!!! Let's review your pics: Ryan wins 5 matches Cleveland wins 8 matches 1 toss up Cleveland wins the match Reality: Ryan wins 12 matches Cleveland wins 2 matches Ryan crushes Cleveland Ryan goes back to the hotel to prepare for the Cleveland Duals the next day in which they will wrestle 2 teams ranked ahead of them after beating a team ranked ahead of them this night. I would have loved to have seen those predictions prior to the match. They probably would have matched the prior predictions which were far from reality. I would love to read your analysis on each weight class prediction and why the choice. Just a question. Viewing the match on the internet, it looked like Cleveland was very young and Ryan looked like they had experienced wrestlers. This is always a great match; however, Cleveland lost too much last year. Cleveland will be very tough in the coming years and I wish them the best. Looked like a great environment as it always is at Cleveland. I know both teams were missing key members of their team, Cleveland was missing Triston Blansit. Any news on him? I hope he is able to come back. He is really good. Best of luck on your next predictions. You might want to look outside the box. Ouch!
  20. I suggest you talk to Garrett House(?). I talked to two NCW coaches and they were taking their team down Sunday morning and they were bringing many kids. I was also told that the Wave did not bring all of their team, mostly their better wrestlers last year. Also was told that Garrett was informed by an NCW coach Thanksgiving night that the match had been cancelled by Coach Lewis. Garrett was not even aware of this.
  21. From what I have heard, FR was bringing their starters and 4 or 5 backups. FR wrestled Arlington Saturday night and could not bring all of the back-ups and pay for hotel rooms. Coach Lewis texted Coach Simpson Thanksgiving afternoon and was told this and got upset. He said he was going to have to forfeit a few weight classes and did not have his football players yet. Coach Lewis told Coach Simpson he and the AD talked and decided to cancel the match. ON A THURSDAY NIGHT of Thanksgiving!!!! Really. I heard some other things that I will not get into on this forum; however, to cancel a match on Thanksgiving evening is beyond the pale. P.S. I am sure FR is spending a lot of money to take their team to the ridiculous Individual Regionals. Such a waste in DII with such a small number of teams. I would imagine that BA is in the same boat with the expense for this as well. Word on the street is that there will be a Regional Dual Tournament to see who will go to the State. Another wasted weekend and expense.
  22. I do not know what Metro rules state; however, if you could wrestle clubs during the year, it would help prepare your team for their championships. I am sure the club teams could not compete for your championships. Sounds like you are doing a great job at your school. Continue to push the envelope, it will help all of Metro. Just a suggestion.
  23. Let''s be honest. BA looked like a beast against MBA and looked to be the best team in DII. They may have looked to be the best team in the state. BA looked that good. If they continue to perform at this level through the end of the year, they will win the state in DII. End of story.. BA is striving to be the best in DII and win the state championship. Against MBA, they made a big statement!
