  1. And....the last time you read....I wasn't even talking to you, about you, about your team, etc. In other words, why don't you mind your own business. Here again...it may be that there are some on here with several user identities. Birds of a feather, flock together. Unbelievable. Go back to the 4AAA predictions with your buddy and put down those programs, parents, and players. There's quite a few of you on here who seem to relish in that. THE END. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  2. I just knew you couldn't leave this alone. Come on man, let it go and don't worry about it. You of all people shouldn't be calling anyone pompous, because you beat anyone on here in that category. You get on here and make accusations and bash players and programs. No kid on any team or any program deserves that kind of ridicule. Yes, I've seen your bashing of programs on the 4AAA section. First of all, you take this stuff way too serious and you don't know what the h**l you are talking about. Second of all, you are just a big IDIOT!! A "phantom junior player" and "pompous self-promotion"...WOW...how ridiculous can you possibly get?
  3. Come on man....take it easy. I was just having a little fun and providing some entertainment. My intention wasn't to get everyone, including you, all spun up and in an uproar. I already said I made up the Junior at Karns to provide entertainment. See my earlier feedback to JohnDoe. Plus, if there is a player or family getting letters and want to share this information, they can post it on here themselves. I am not going to do it for them, because it's their own personal business to decide whether or not they want to do that.
  4. Yeah...you're right. No players at Karns that good and the player is a figment of my imagination. Obviously, only Farragut has those types of players. I made it all up to entertain you.
  5. Okay, we'll go with Stroup, since you really know your players. Look at the Karns write-up on the TBCA.org website. Maybe that'll help you. I'll leave it at that for now and let you know the end result when it is all said and done. Maybe you can get out to some games and see for yourself. It will be self-evident.
  6. I guess I am still not following you on the "commit" thing and the "early signing being the new thing". I'll have to wait and see on that one. And you don't have to be sorry about stating your opinion. I just assumed it is more of a matter lack of knowledge of the players than opinion. It's a good thing you aren't the local collegiate scout... /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> College coaches are looking for skill. I don't know of any major programs that recruit hard work instead of skill. Obviously, a majority of good players are hard workers. However, I've see kids that are the hardest workers that will never even get to play high school varsity baseball. I guess you are saying they will get college scholarship offers. I can tell you.....NO WAY!! Is there a parallel universe I am unaware of where hard work gets you a scholarship instead of being able to perform at a certain skill level?
  7. Come on JohnDoe...I waiting on some more feedback. And did you guess what player that is a Junior at Karns I am talking about? I mean come on....Cade and Mac are good players, so I'll give you that....but the only ones around any good...come on now. I know some more that I will name later. Someone already had to point out Powell and Cooper. You must be living a sheltered life. Let's hear it!
  8. As you can tell by my username, I am a fan at another school. I can say one thing though. I know a lot of the players at Farragut and they are top notch players from anybody's point of view. Additionally, their top three or four pitchers are going to be hard to beat. The top three I know well and whoever faces them in the regular season will probably see one of them and they are very hard to beat. Better spend a lot of time at batting practice to beat those guys.
  9. OR could have really used Johnston this year. I am not personally happy from the move, but am glad from a fan's point of view because they are in our disctrict. They lost a solid player that I am not sure they can replace at this point. I still say it was a mistake to let Johnston leave. And you are correct, Coalfield will benefit greatly.
  10. The Johnston kid (Matt) is the best of the bunch and can really help Coalfield. He is the best picther, fielder, and hitter out of the three players. I have seen all three play growing up and on into high school. Johnston has always played at a high level growing up and I think he will continue to do so in high school given the right opportunity. Yes, the Key boys are from Clinton. Check around and you can find out why they are at Coalfield.
  11. If Johnston is on the mound and is having a good day, he's hard to beat. He is also a good hitter and Oak Ridge should never have let him leave, especially now. He's a better player than many of OR players this year. That's their loss and Coalfied's gain. However, I can't see Corey Key being a difference maker, but maybe he'll do better in A ball than he did in AAA. I guess we'll see. Cody Key can put up a solid performance on the mound though.
  12. I am missing something here. The junior year and the summer after is the most important time. Therefore, I am talking about players who will sign after the summer of their junior season. NCAA regulations do not even allow a coach or school to call until after July 1 following a player's junior year. I believe there is also a signiing period. Therefore, I am not following what time period you are talking about.
  13. I disagree as there are more high school players than college openings or scholarships. Also, many great players get drafted come from schools other than D1. Many current professional star players are from schools you have probably never even heard of before. I can't argue with what that coach said, but I have never seen a top level player go through high school baseball and turn down a baseball scholarship. I can understand if it is some small unknown school hundreds of miles away. A great majority of high school players never get an offer from any college or university. Only the top level players even any offer at all, including JUCO schools.
  14. There is a player at Karns that is a Junior this year who made the Perfect Game's top 500 high school players in the nation as a sophomore. He has two recruiting letters from Miami (Ohio). Also, has strong recruiting letters from Baylor, Miss. State, Austin Peay, and Memphis State. Other schools that show a strong interest interest are ETSU, Tenn. Wesleyan (NAIA No. 10 preseason) and Chattanooga State (Finished No. 3 in JUCO for 2007 season). GUESS WHO? I agree that Curtis Powell and Jordan Cooper from Farragut will sign this year.
  15. I meant players who will commit after their Junior year during the signing period.
  16. WOW!! I think you better open your eyes or get out to more games!!
  17. Here are a few that I know of. Juniors: Philip Duncan and Robbie Martin (Karns), Cody Willimason (OR), Andrew Green (Powell), Matt Marsh (Clinton). Seniors: Austin Noe and John Michael Clarke (Halls), Jonathan Prior, Logan Hamontree, and Cody Pate (Karns) I am sure there are many others, but that is a few players that I know of.
  18. Oh, I have not forgotten either. I think West looks to be strong this year and could prove to be the "dark horse" in the race. Their line-up and pitching looks to be strong. I think the West games will be tough ones for Karns. As we know, anything can happen in baseball. It just doesn't look like the other teams are as strong and experienced going into the season. Like I said before, there are some top level players on all the other teams mentioned. However, it is going to take experienced players with good pitching, solid defense, and hitters from top to bottom. Based on that, I see Karns and Halls at the top in this district. West can certainly be a factor as well.
  19. Provide some feeback of the upcoming East Tennessee Players that are Juniors that will get a college scholarship. Go ahead and include level of the school for the player (NCAA D1, D2, NAIA, or JUCO) if you can.
  20. I think Karns will hang with Halls, assuming we can stay healthy. Some planned changes in the infield will improve defense. I believe the hitting will improve, even though Karns hit well last year. Three regular varsity players last year were sophomores and they should be able to step it up another level in the hitting area. Pitching is mature, with 4 seniors in the rotation. We still need some juniors to step up, though. Oak Ridge lost a some varsity talent and Halls has some injuries. I still look at West providing good competition, though. My Prediction: Karns Halls West Oak Ridge Powell Clinton Central Campbell County Hopefullu, we can come together as a team and make it out of the first District round and not go two and out. You can see the Karns write-up at www.tbca.org in AAA section.
  21. Nobody at Karns thought it would be two and out that's for sure. Nothing against the teams that knocked us out, but I thought we had more talent from top to bottom. That is the part that really hurts. Both teams have talented players, but I'm talking about as a team, I thought Karns was better. It would be different if our losses had been to some top pitchers at one of the local teams in state contention. Of course, whoever thought Lenoir City would beat Bearden and Farragut? It just goes to show that anyhting can happen in baseball.
