Van Buren came out strong, but was down at halftime. About half way into the third, VB gets momentum and pulls off a great win. Congrats to VB Boys - All of them did a good job tonight. Keep up the spirit and bring it to the next game of regionals. I am very proud of you all!!!

I just wanted to say congrats to Darrin Baker from Van Buren county on his "Player of the Month" at award on the Center Court Basketball website. We are all very proud of you for your athletic ability but most of all for your humbleness and your overall attitude. I hope everyone will get a chance to take a look at the statement posted by Mr. Burns and the video footage. Again, Congrats Darrin on a great job, and I will miss watching you and the other seniors play next year!!

Community beat Van Buren??? Highly highly unlikely! Although anything is possible. I agree with cascade11, I don't think VB boys will be beat in the district. They have a strong team this year, and they are standing firm on their perfect district season. I thought Eagleville would give them a run for their money @ Eagleville last week, but even with bad officiating, VB pulled out the win. Unless the ref's are against VB (which has been happening ALOT lately), VB will pull off the Victory. Then on to regionals, where I think VB and Nashville Christian will meet. Not sure what will happen there!

The score is correct! I missed the first part of the game, but the fourth quarter was awesome. The crowds from both sides were very into the game. Although some of the calls seemed very favored towards the end of the game. It was back and forth with a one point spread, two point spread, or tied. Then with 5.6 seconds to go, MTSC made a 2 pointer to give them a 1 point advantage. VB coach called a t-out. VB inbound under MTCS's goal. Grissom inbounded to Simmons, who then passed back to Grissom, who ran all the way down the court, guarded by 3 MTCS players, and made the two point lay up just as the buzzard sounded!! Very proud of VB girls last night. They have played two back to back good games. I know Grissom dreaded coming back to MTCS after her injury there last year, but they said she made the lay up in the same spot she came down at last year and tore her ACL. I can't imagine how difficult that had to be mentally!!! But she did great as well as the rest of the team!!

It was just as you would have expected. VB came out with the win with a good margin. MTCS played well but could not get the boards they needed. Their defense was not strong enough to stop VB, although MTCS 3 shot ability shined last night. VB's Smith and Baker did well, but Rigsby and Simmons seemed to have one of their better games defensively. I believe Smith and Baker stepped back last night and let the others have a shot. I say good game to both teams and good luck with the rest of the season.
