After D'burg int walk a batter up more than ten runs they better play good the rest of the way. There are a lot of "baseball gods" mad at them right now.

I heard this last night. I will not name any school, but what was this coach thinking. This coaches team was up 15-4 in the last inning and INT. Walked a good hitter on the other team.

As long as the coach does not coach the team, it is legal. The coach cannot be at the game, unless the coach has a son on the team.

No! This is a State Tournament. There should be no seeds. Every pairing should be by blind draw not by who you are.

So you you would have not cared if Memphis and Kansas played in the first round of the National Tourn. this year. Even though the parings are set before districts begin I am glad to see the two best teams in the finals. I would not have like to see BHS and FHS play in the first game. I guess that is why I am "Old School" and you are "Doodle Bug"

Who takes credit for drawing up such retarded brackets in baseball? It isn't a state tournament its a half a state tournament. Two brackets which just so happen the 2 best records are in different brackets. Never have to worry about meeting till finals

What about the number one ranked team in the state? Collierville

bases loaded with one out. Ground ball to first. 1B steps on bag and throws to 2B. Runner runs past the bag and knocks the ball loose from the SS (who is covering). The runner could have slid and been safe with no collision easily. Umpire calls runner safe at 2B. what the correct call?

If the runner knocked the ball out on purpose than he is out. Just like A-ROD a few years ago ,and if the run scored before the out than i would say it counts because there is no force out since the firstbaseman chose the get the force at first. It would have to be the judgement of the umpire.

How about the Collierville/ CBHS Monday Night?

actually i heard that the umpire was very bad. he was obviously for cbhs because gant is not the type to act like this. tuesdays matchup will be alot better one. and by the way gant will not be throwing

I don't care how bad the umpire is a high school player should never get in any adult's face. I do not know Gant, but apparently he is this type or he would not have done this.

good news. his ankle is not broken, but it is a fractured coupled with a severe strain of the ligaments in the ankle. i'd say he's done for the season.

I am not a doctor, but what is the difference between broken and fracture. That is like saying I am not pregnant, but i am "having a baby".

Here is the situation:

 

Bases load, one out. The batter hits a ball up the middle to the shortstop, the shortstop steps on second comes straight across the bag, the runner coming from first makes a legal clean slide to break up the play. The umpire calls him out for over sliding the bag.

 

The umpire told me after the game, no matter what if a runner overslides a bag when a play is being made he is out. Also he will be called out on any type of pop up slide or hook slide. Now is it just me or does this just take away from the game even more. Soon enough no one will be bale to slide because of safety. But is this interpretation in the rule book. I need your help.

the unpire is right. You have to slide straight into the bag and not pop up or go over the bag. You are right in that it takes away from the game. Mostly because some umpires call it and some don't. If it is a rule it should be called all the time. No matter how silly it is or not. The best way to handle this is make the coach teach their middle infielders how to avoid contact on a double play no matter how the slide is. But some coaches don't take the time go over the little things. They want to throw 3 rounds of 7 BP and go to the house.

Every starter including the DH and Starting Pitcher can reenter the game one time. The reason this is odd is because the DH is usually for the starting pitcher. What usually happens is a change in pitching and the DH enters the game. Now the DH is dead because he entered the game. In South Sides case The DH did not enter the game therefore he can reenter. Now would i bet my Life on this ruling NO. No coach will ever know every rule in any sport, but this is how I see it.

Who was the umpire? How did Odle get away with kicking dirt on him and ripping pages out of the rulebook and just get confined to dugout and not kicked out of the game?

Because the umpire had more class than Odle, and did not want to cost Odle $250 and a two game suspension. Also, he did not want to hurt the Lexington players by not having their coach for 2 games. Coaches have to understand that they are not coaching adults. This is not college or the pros. These are kids and we as coaches have to show an example to them. I have never seen a call changed because a coach yelled at an umpire. If you have to act like a fool to get your players motavated than somethings wrong. We tell our players not to do everything that they see players do on tv, well that goes the same for coaches!!

What does that make it five wins all year. It takes more that one win to make a season. They also beat Haywood (Who Hasn't).

i say tullahoma is one of the best..they dont get that much recognition but they deserve to..they would be #1 in the state if they could of made a few less mistakes in some games..they crush the ball..the field good every now and then that is way they have lost most there games..but take the errors out and this team would be hard to beat.

If it were not for mistakes we would all be undefeated. Thats is how you measure great teams: the fewest number of mistakes.

Tigers look good so far , talk of weak schedule is a bunch of bunk . Pitching staff of Keck , Beechum , and McPherson , have turned in some great results . With a good defense in the field and hot bats at the plate these tigers are impressive to date . Tougher district teams ( South Side and Bolivar ) are on the horizon . Go Big Red

If tougher teams are consist of Boliver, that that is pretty weak. They came to the Lewis Harris tournament and could not win a game. Good arms, but no pitcher. Came up to field with shirts untucked, hats on backwards, walked on and off the field.

How much losing is too much? Who's responsiblity is it to change coaches? We have lost & lost & lost. 4-30 last year, and previous years have not been much better. The players are constantly being blamed for their lack of skills and knowledge. This coach does not teach baseball, he promotes division, this team desperately needs someone who can teach baseball and bring together a young team with talent that is seriously divided between favorites and role players. Ther have been many complaints against this coach as well.

I have known some crazy parents, but this takes the cake. To go online and try to get your coach fired is sorry. Your username is baseball coach. You need to change that because a baseball coach would never do that. Be a man and talk to someone face to face not through a computer. I would like to talk to you face to face.
