I heard this last night. I will not name any school, but what was this coach thinking. This coaches team was up 15-4 in the last inning and INT. Walked a good hitter on the other team.

As long as the coach does not coach the team, it is legal. The coach cannot be at the game, unless the coach has a son on the team.

So you you would have not cared if Memphis and Kansas played in the first round of the National Tourn. this year. Even though the parings are set before districts begin I am glad to see the two best teams in the finals. I would not have like to see BHS and FHS play in the first game. I guess that is why I am "Old School" and you are "Doodle Bug"

Isn't that the way a bracket is suppose to work, the top two seeds meeting in the end.

If the runner knocked the ball out on purpose than he is out. Just like A-ROD a few years ago ,and if the run scored before the out than i would say it counts because there is no force out since the firstbaseman chose the get the force at first. It would have to be the judgement of the umpire.

I don't care how bad the umpire is a high school player should never get in any adult's face. I do not know Gant, but apparently he is this type or he would not have done this.

the unpire is right. You have to slide straight into the bag and not pop up or go over the bag. You are right in that it takes away from the game. Mostly because some umpires call it and some don't. If it is a rule it should be called all the time. No matter how silly it is or not. The best way to handle this is make the coach teach their middle infielders how to avoid contact on a double play no matter how the slide is. But some coaches don't take the time go over the little things. They want to throw 3 rounds of 7 BP and go to the house.

Every starter including the DH and Starting Pitcher can reenter the game one time. The reason this is odd is because the DH is usually for the starting pitcher. What usually happens is a change in pitching and the DH enters the game. Now the DH is dead because he entered the game. In South Sides case The DH did not enter the game therefore he can reenter. Now would i bet my Life on this ruling NO. No coach will ever know every rule in any sport, but this is how I see it.

Because the umpire had more class than Odle, and did not want to cost Odle $250 and a two game suspension. Also, he did not want to hurt the Lexington players by not having their coach for 2 games. Coaches have to understand that they are not coaching adults. This is not college or the pros. These are kids and we as coaches have to show an example to them. I have never seen a call changed because a coach yelled at an umpire. If you have to act like a fool to get your players motavated than somethings wrong. We tell our players not to do everything that they see players do on tv, well that goes the same for coaches!!

What does that make it five wins all year. It takes more that one win to make a season. They also beat Haywood (Who Hasn't).

If it were not for mistakes we would all be undefeated. Thats is how you measure great teams: the fewest number of mistakes.

If tougher teams are consist of Boliver, that that is pretty weak. They came to the Lewis Harris tournament and could not win a game. Good arms, but no pitcher. Came up to field with shirts untucked, hats on backwards, walked on and off the field.

I have known some crazy parents, but this takes the cake. To go online and try to get your coach fired is sorry. Your username is baseball coach. You need to change that because a baseball coach would never do that. Be a man and talk to someone face to face not through a computer. I would like to talk to you face to face.
