what inning is the game in?

How much more pitching does Catholic have? I know they can hold their own hitting but what does it look like from here on out on the hill?

I dont know who shamrock is but i can gaurantee you that nobody misses him. In no way, form, or fashion was he a hero.

I know this is a little late to be asking but did the left hander smyrna had last year recover from the bad ankle injury fully? I hated to hear of such a injry to such a talented kid.

yeah thats true but... seeing as how both of them are faggles who complain about their arms all day.... i doubt they will both throw a complete game. Should be a great fun atmosphere though

Yea your right. I hope for Catholic's sake that their arms are hurting because if they aren't then there is no way Catholic scores 5 and 7 runs. The meetings between the two are earlier this year, which i hate. The main reason that I hate they meet early this year is because after AC wins, Catholic fans will be saying they are not in prime condition yet and just wait until later. Then they will just say something like come play us in football. Good luck to AC and to you two "faggles", don't take what balla1881 said personally, it's just that Catholic pitchers dont know how much strain your arm gets when you throw over 85mph consistently.

Oh yeah!! I forgot about that! Who was the coach then? And wait didnt they lose possibly the best player to come through this area in quite a while in Tyler Cannon? Wait... why did they get stripped of their title again? Yeah i didnt say they didnt have good runs, I know all about that. They arent the same team anymore!!! The district has been tight since then with what used to be Rutledge and them. I just dont understand the reasoning for the love for the upcoming team. History doesnt get wins. I didnt say G-P would beat them did I? If you want to argue history youve got a short time to talk trash about. I honestly do wish that all Sevier County teams had to play each other.. You're right PF might win some of the time They obviously do have a solid team but you cant just argue history when it involves stars carrying the team the whole way. Didnt they get pounded by the coach's previous team in that substate game?

pounded is an understatement. the game took like an hour and then it was called due to the 10 run rule. not to mention they got no-hit. seymour hands down the best in sevier county. norman has that bunch ready to go everytime out.

I agree with Theirishmen... AC is the "Pretty Boy Team" of the Knoxville area!! Here are the facts.. we beat you in the district championship last year right?? Yeah we might have stumbled a little against Gibbs in the Region but the umps were terrible in that game. Everyone knows that if we would have played AC in the Region Championship the same thing would have happened again because Michael White would have had to throw. I guess we will see what happens in a few weeks huh?

First of all.....blue collar is out the door! This is the "Pretty Boy Team" of the Knoxville area! Price and Rorex are always hurt. Ellis is just a big dumb football player. And Pack either hits it far or doesnt at all because his swings for the fence every time, and Foster is too pretty to play hard nose baseball. The coaching staff is good, but not experienced enough. Besides all this......Yeah they might finish 3rd or 4th this year

Actually Price and Rorex always hurt you. Ellis has a 4.0. Pack and Foster were two of the best sophomores around. Pack also hit over .400. Also, which two or three teams will be better than AC? Gosh, it is so funny how you have no facts to back up your mouth.

Gibbs will travel to AC on Wednesday for the region championship. Who do you think wins this game. AC won early this year but now its postseason and Gibbs will be a better team. Something that should be pointed out is that Gibbs had to use alot of key pitching with the win over those little green guys that took ten innings to decide. Congrats to AC and Gibbs for their region game wins and it should be a great game Wednesday. Good luck to both teams.

"In the opinion of William Blount baseball coach Richie Wilhite, Bearden has the best offense in District 4-AAA. " . . . "Farragut is very tough offensively, but (Bearden) has hit us a lot harder than Farragut has," Wilhite said. "In our district, they're the best offensive team we've seen."

 

So there. Its not just me and cruiser and all the other Bearden fans who know that we're gonna beat the hadmirals on Monday. Bearden is the real team to play on now. William Blount and every other team in district knows that we are the better men. We gonna beat them. And after that William Blount's gonna take its turn too.

 

If anyone wants to come to a program with national attention, on Tuesday morning farragutlesses so called national rankings are ours! Go Dawgs!

What does this have to do with this topic. i mean you have posted this on like three different topics. Farragut is going to beat you again monday so just get over it and stop teeling yourself that you guys are going to win.

It will be a very heated atmosphere on monday and tuesday night. Catholic has already completed their first part of the tradition and that is get swept by Loudon. AC will go ahead and lock up the first place position monday and tuesday. The only reason that Coach Thompson and Coach Downs havent changed the locks on Catholics field is because they like for all the rich parents from Catholic to fix up the field every year so they can come play on it. It can't be a good feeling to have just been swept by a team that AC swept. I wonder which two of ACs pitchers will throw. They have four that can be district pitchers and win those games. Catholic has two and they can't even beat Loudon. Well, good luck to AC and i guess that the only reason that they are playing these games is to see which guy from AC will win the Mvp of the district.

The system we have is perfectly fine... Only thing I could possibly imagine changing is making sub-state best out of three...

I agree with you. I don't think they should all be thrown off the team for 1 mistake but should certainly be punished. The school handbook addresses these issues also. BUT Coach Sullivan has made it very clear that his baseball players are to be held to much higher standards than the average student. Preached it to the players and the parents. One of the players has been constant problem for the past fews years and is very well acquainted with the principals office having been suspended before. I guess his discipline approach is similar to Fulmers. The discipline lessens depending on your importance to the lineup. The players and parents would have probably expected/accepted a short term suspension given the nature of the offense. Now all that we have listened to for 2 years from the coach appears to be just lip service. Maybe the discipline will be handed out to avoid missing the big Anderson County games at the start of next week. Like Fulmer, he'll need to get all sides of the story before making any moves regarding the handling off the matter and they may not happen until after the 2 big games next week.

 

Will he "do the right thing" as he has preached or expose his hypocratic nature and continue to play these guys like he did last night?

I don't even think it's a question whether or not that they will play against AC. I mean i dont know who the guys are but i am sure the munchkin wants all of his players available and just like every other private school, rules dont apply to them. Personally, i dont think it matters if they play or not because Catholic is about to run into a wall on Monday and Tuesday. The mighty MVP from last year is definitely not going to lead his team to victory because he cant step up in big games. It's funny how they went 0-3 against AC last year and Matt Byrge went undefeated in the district including 2-0 over Catholic and still didnt win the Mvp award. Kinda shows you what kinda strings that the private schools can pull to make themselves look better.

Catholic hosts Loudon monday night. Tuesday night they play at Loudon. How do you see these games going?

last year there was a pretty good game up in the smokies between these two teams. not real sure if it will be the same this year but its a rivalry and usually rivalries are always a good game. as far as pitchers go, i am not sure who each team will throw. hopefully there will be some good hitting going on against some good pitching. you just never know how the game will go on a certain day but in a little over three hours this game will get under way and then the sticks can do the talking.

Well maybe if some of the west tennessee people would stop worrying about their private schools and recruiting that they do, than they probably would hear about some of the other kids around the state. I agree sonny gray is great and who cares which one goes before the other in the draft, they are both going in the first round straight out of high school. that is pretty amazing that two kids from the same state will be going in the first round out of high school. Matt can touch 96. no he doesnt throw it consistently but sonny doesnt throw 97 consistently either. both stay lower to mid-90's which is outstanding for high school pitchers. so how about instead of trying to knock either of the guys, we keep a more positive note and give credit because all of their hard work over the years is definitely paying off. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Big Pigeon Forge tournament? with the teams that are in it i wouldn't exactly call that big. I am kinda surprised to see that Rockwood is in tho because it will be embarassing to see a single A team when your tournament when your a two A school.

Karns didnt bring their "A Game" and still won. Karns won with a sophomore shortstop.

 

It never ceases to amaze me of how people play weak competition and think they are unstoppable. Just because you think what you are watching is "baseball" doesn't mean it actually is baseball.

 

Case in point, Campbell County

It was a great game but AC made three critical mistakes in the first inning and still came back. Also a critical blown call by the umpire at second base gave Karns another run. i am not a coach but i have always heard that after four he gets the win in a case like you mentioned. i know our pitchers have left after four innings with a good lead and get the win as long as the team doesn't tie the game.

AC came out and won 12-1. York and White both hit homers. AC had another solid night at the plate and a good start for them to the district season. Good luck to them and Stone Memorial the rest of the year.

Anderson County plays Stone Memorial on Monday and Tuesday. Who will win these two District 4AA games?

This is anderson countys first two district games of the year. they have been pretty successful so far. they need to establish a good start to the district season. they have proved they have talent and can play. it will be interesting to see how they respond to these games. they knocked off a region rival in gibbs the other night but they have to get through their district before they worry about region teams. i see anderson county winning these two games pretty easily. good luck to both teams.

Anderson Co beat OR 3-2 tonight after Powell beat them 7-5. AC threw Farmer and Nick Price while OR threw J Brent. Very good ball game with AC scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th to nip OR. OR left 12 runners on base.

This was a really good game. Both teams stayed tough and played hard. Brent pitched a great game. He is a very good pitcher. It's games like this when you hate to see a pitcher take the loss after pitching like he did. Nick Price came in and pitched great. He also ended up getting the game-winning single that drove in two. Farmer gave up two in 4 and 2/3 innings. Price gave up none in 2 and a 1/3. great game and good luck to both teams the rest of the year.

Souyh Doyle won, but threw Kirkland their #1 pitcher, OR threw their #5 pitcher. OR will not throw their top 4 pitchers in tournament games but will give younger kids the experience for future years. The coaches number 1 goal is to win the District, but they want to be competitive in other games.

i understand not wanting to use top pitchers and save them for a district game but this tournament started on a thursday and is over on saturday. if the number one guy starts thursday, even if they have a district game on monday, thats three days rest. i agree thats not really enough rest for a complete game, so why not start at least your three guy or maybe even your two guy and let your number one rest for your monday district game. you say they want to be competitive in their other games, how can you do that if you are saving your top four guys for district. its very hard to compete with nothing better than your five guy on the mound unless your a really really good hitting team. last time i checked, there arent many teams that can hit good enough to stay in games with good teams with only there five guy throwing.

thats alot of confidence, making it to the state tourney, considering you lost your best pitcher, best hitter, 2 other good players, and head coach, and you did not make it to the state tourney last year,

i was simply stating the thoughts of a game on saturday. yea i do have confidnce in this team. it was definitely time for a change in the coaching. the hardest thrower doesn't make somebody the best pitcher. there are plenty of guys that will step up and take care of the pitching and the last time i checked micheal white can throw just as hard as byrge with a better curve and has a more intimidating height on the mound. last years team ran into a pitcher who was really on that night and when you meet a good pitcher who is on, its always tough to beat him. farragut is obviuosly better than any 2a team so i was just saying that they will be the best team ac plays has to face until the state tourney because they don't play USJ until the state.
