what inning is the game in?

How much more pitching does Catholic have? I know they can hold their own hitting but what does it look like from here on out on the hill?

I dont know who shamrock is but i can gaurantee you that nobody misses him. In no way, form, or fashion was he a hero.

I know this is a little late to be asking but did the left hander smyrna had last year recover from the bad ankle injury fully? I hated to hear of such a injry to such a talented kid.

Yea your right. I hope for Catholic's sake that their arms are hurting because if they aren't then there is no way Catholic scores 5 and 7 runs. The meetings between the two are earlier this year, which i hate. The main reason that I hate they meet early this year is because after AC wins, Catholic fans will be saying they are not in prime condition yet and just wait until later. Then they will just say something like come play us in football. Good luck to AC and to you two "faggles", don't take what balla1881 said personally, it's just that Catholic pitchers dont know how much strain your arm gets when you throw over 85mph consistently.

the umpires were terrible. you know what that is? that is an excuse and excuses are for losers! also, congrats on the district title...it must be nice to finally get that first trophy.

Actually Price and Rorex always hurt you. Ellis has a 4.0. Pack and Foster were two of the best sophomores around. Pack also hit over .400. Also, which two or three teams will be better than AC? Gosh, it is so funny how you have no facts to back up your mouth.

Gibbs will travel to AC on Wednesday for the region championship. Who do you think wins this game. AC won early this year but now its postseason and Gibbs will be a better team. Something that should be pointed out is that Gibbs had to use alot of key pitching with the win over those little green guys that took ten innings to decide. Congrats to AC and Gibbs for their region game wins and it should be a great game Wednesday. Good luck to both teams.

What does this have to do with this topic. i mean you have posted this on like three different topics. Farragut is going to beat you again monday so just get over it and stop teeling yourself that you guys are going to win.

It will be a very heated atmosphere on monday and tuesday night. Catholic has already completed their first part of the tradition and that is get swept by Loudon. AC will go ahead and lock up the first place position monday and tuesday. The only reason that Coach Thompson and Coach Downs havent changed the locks on Catholics field is because they like for all the rich parents from Catholic to fix up the field every year so they can come play on it. It can't be a good feeling to have just been swept by a team that AC swept. I wonder which two of ACs pitchers will throw. They have four that can be district pitchers and win those games. Catholic has two and they can't even beat Loudon. Well, good luck to AC and i guess that the only reason that they are playing these games is to see which guy from AC will win the Mvp of the district.

I like the idea of making the state championship the best of three.

I don't even think it's a question whether or not that they will play against AC. I mean i dont know who the guys are but i am sure the munchkin wants all of his players available and just like every other private school, rules dont apply to them. Personally, i dont think it matters if they play or not because Catholic is about to run into a wall on Monday and Tuesday. The mighty MVP from last year is definitely not going to lead his team to victory because he cant step up in big games. It's funny how they went 0-3 against AC last year and Matt Byrge went undefeated in the district including 2-0 over Catholic and still didnt win the Mvp award. Kinda shows you what kinda strings that the private schools can pull to make themselves look better.

Catholic hosts Loudon monday night. Tuesday night they play at Loudon. How do you see these games going?

last year there was a pretty good game up in the smokies between these two teams. not real sure if it will be the same this year but its a rivalry and usually rivalries are always a good game. as far as pitchers go, i am not sure who each team will throw. hopefully there will be some good hitting going on against some good pitching. you just never know how the game will go on a certain day but in a little over three hours this game will get under way and then the sticks can do the talking.

Well maybe if some of the west tennessee people would stop worrying about their private schools and recruiting that they do, than they probably would hear about some of the other kids around the state. I agree sonny gray is great and who cares which one goes before the other in the draft, they are both going in the first round straight out of high school. that is pretty amazing that two kids from the same state will be going in the first round out of high school. Matt can touch 96. no he doesnt throw it consistently but sonny doesnt throw 97 consistently either. both stay lower to mid-90's which is outstanding for high school pitchers. so how about instead of trying to knock either of the guys, we keep a more positive note and give credit because all of their hard work over the years is definitely paying off. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Big Pigeon Forge tournament? with the teams that are in it i wouldn't exactly call that big. I am kinda surprised to see that Rockwood is in tho because it will be embarassing to see a single A team when your tournament when your a two A school.

It was a great game but AC made three critical mistakes in the first inning and still came back. Also a critical blown call by the umpire at second base gave Karns another run. i am not a coach but i have always heard that after four he gets the win in a case like you mentioned. i know our pitchers have left after four innings with a good lead and get the win as long as the team doesn't tie the game.

AC came out and won 12-1. York and White both hit homers. AC had another solid night at the plate and a good start for them to the district season. Good luck to them and Stone Memorial the rest of the year.

This is anderson countys first two district games of the year. they have been pretty successful so far. they need to establish a good start to the district season. they have proved they have talent and can play. it will be interesting to see how they respond to these games. they knocked off a region rival in gibbs the other night but they have to get through their district before they worry about region teams. i see anderson county winning these two games pretty easily. good luck to both teams.

This was a really good game. Both teams stayed tough and played hard. Brent pitched a great game. He is a very good pitcher. It's games like this when you hate to see a pitcher take the loss after pitching like he did. Nick Price came in and pitched great. He also ended up getting the game-winning single that drove in two. Farmer gave up two in 4 and 2/3 innings. Price gave up none in 2 and a 1/3. great game and good luck to both teams the rest of the year.

i understand not wanting to use top pitchers and save them for a district game but this tournament started on a thursday and is over on saturday. if the number one guy starts thursday, even if they have a district game on monday, thats three days rest. i agree thats not really enough rest for a complete game, so why not start at least your three guy or maybe even your two guy and let your number one rest for your monday district game. you say they want to be competitive in their other games, how can you do that if you are saving your top four guys for district. its very hard to compete with nothing better than your five guy on the mound unless your a really really good hitting team. last time i checked, there arent many teams that can hit good enough to stay in games with good teams with only there five guy throwing.

i was simply stating the thoughts of a game on saturday. yea i do have confidnce in this team. it was definitely time for a change in the coaching. the hardest thrower doesn't make somebody the best pitcher. there are plenty of guys that will step up and take care of the pitching and the last time i checked micheal white can throw just as hard as byrge with a better curve and has a more intimidating height on the mound. last years team ran into a pitcher who was really on that night and when you meet a good pitcher who is on, its always tough to beat him. farragut is obviuosly better than any 2a team so i was just saying that they will be the best team ac plays has to face until the state tourney because they don't play USJ until the state.

Anderson County plays Farragut at oak ridge at 10 o'clock on march 1. This should be a pretty good game. AC won't see anybody as good as them until they meet up with USJ in the state tourney. It will be interesting to see who both teams pitch and how AC is able to handle who Farragut throws.
