  1. I don't know. I'm getting updates from my daughter who is there. 4-0 Beech in the 4th inning.
  2. Now final, Wilson Central wins.
  3. 0 - 0, in the 8th inning.
  4. WC leads 1-0 in the top of the 7th.
  5. If you're going to call Sweetwater "Chattanooga area" you might as well include Coffee County, it's basically the same distance. Seriously, Sweetwater is almost 70 miles away. Is there something I don't know, like the school on the Athens side of Sweet-town and therefore only 65 miles away?
  6. Would you also say it's easier to get someone to move to Mufreesboro than say, ummm... Manchester?
  7. Hahahaha! Y'all are funny! Goodpasture wins handily, everybody else is playing for 2nd. Good luck to all!
  8. ^^^ /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> This just in.
  9. Have you seen them in person? Don't get me wrong, 99% of the CC people are great, classy people and their field is one of the best places to play too. But when you attend a game at CC it really hurts their image when a parent literally climbs the fence and acts like a fool any time their team does something good. Combine that with the smack talk and that's why there are some haters out there. The good news is his daughter is graduating so he may stop coming around... that should help the image tremendously, especially if he quits posting here too. Again, I wish CC the best of luck next season!
  10. Your point about being such a rural team, in my opinion, is spot on. I know you have your own tournament but there's not a lot of top notch competition showing up. The better teams that do come to Manchester are put in the other half of the bracket so CC doesn't have to play them until the championship game (at least in prior years). While that helps you win your own tournament it is not what's best for the long term success of the program. Did your hc try to schedule any mid-week games with teams outside the district such as Riverdale, Beech or Goodpasture? With the team you had returning you guys should have sought out the very best competition possible, even if it was a bit of a strain on the parents. To be the best you have to play the best. Good luck next season!
  11. Great shot by a great kid. There was never any doubt when she hit that ball that it was outa there. And you're right dubc, if you could put together a whole team of girls with her drive and commitment, that would be a special team. Congrats to the WC.
  12. I may be wrong and I apologize in advance if I am and/or offend anybody but... isn't UTC basically a glorified junior college? It may be that UTC offers a lot of these girls and tries to keep them local but they want more options education-wise, more degree programs. Doesn't MTSU have the largest undergrad enrolment in TN? Maybe they're looking to get away from home or prefer a larger campus and student body? As long as UTC has a few Chatt. area players on their roster each year I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
  13. I'm still waiting to learn what exactly you saw in Morristown... crickets chirping... What school is it that teaches multiple question marks and exclamations make your statement or question more meaningful? I'm beginning to wonder if you're not really a high school student yourself because that's what my high school kids do. But to your question, because unlike you I will address your question, it is not a high school coaches responsibility to teach a child sportsmanship. You, the parent, are solely responsible for that. If a coach happens to exhibit poor sportsmanship you can certainly point that out to your child or even talk to the coach about it but sportsmanship is subjective. No two people could agree 100% on what is or is not good/bad sportsmanship. Having said all of that, there is not another coach I would rather my daughters play for than Coach Pedigo. I know you will disagree but we all know you have an agenda. I guess I can't just bite my tongue and ignore you like they can. I'm telling you now that I'm not replying to any more of your rantings, we (or at least I) will have to agree to disagree on this one. But if you are truly a "lifetimebear" then support your coach or shut up because a true fan of the school would do nothing more or less. btw, I am the self admitted world's worst speller. Sorry you are so offended that I misspelled kindergarten, I hope it didn't tramatize you.
  14. Tell me "lifetimebear", exactly what did you see in Morristown? Details please. The MJ program will be fine once it's rid of a few parents who think they know it all and tell their girls what to think instead of letting them think for themselves. I know for a fact there are at least two girls on the team who do not want to play softball anymore but are being pushed by their parents to continue. Are you one of those parents or is your daughter even on the team? Of course if she is and if you really have two degrees (assuming they are more than just kindergarden and 6th grade), then you know the importance of teaching our youth to make good decisions and to think for themselves, right? Parents need to be supportive and not destructive. That's something else you should have learned in all of that advanced education.
  15. I was in Morristown and watched every game MJ played. There was no poor sportsmanship that I saw or heard. I too want to hear specifics. I'm waiting... As for you "lifetimebear," i think you have to have a degree of some sort to be a coach so go back to school and graduate or give it up. Or better yet, apply for the Central job if it's really coming open.
  16. I too have seen both GP and Unicoi play this season. There is no comparison between the two teams. There were several good teams at the Morristown tourny this past weekend but there were no great teams. If Unicoi wants to play with the big girls they'll have to go to Chattanooga and play in the Soddy tournament or middle TN for one of the tournaments there. I don't mean that as any disprect to them, congrats to them for winning the tournament! But the 4 teams in the semi's at Morristown wouldn't have won more than 1-2 games in the Soddy tournament. edit to add thanks to the tourny organizers, good job on putting together a quality tournament! It is a nice park with beautiful scenery (rolling hills with the Great Smokey Mtns in the background) and Morristown was a truely a "hidden gem" to those of us who haven't been there before.
  17. You obviously did not see them play in Soddy Daisey. They lost to GPS 2-1. The Lady Bears had bases loaded in both the 1st and 4th inning. It is a game they easily could have won with some timely hitting. They also played very respectfully against a good Ooltewah team losing 4-1. Saying they looked like a rec team against 2 very good teams (who both made the semi-finals of the Soddy tournament) is really showing your ######. Granted they have looked bad this week in loses to WC and H'ville. But in Soddy they were respectable. Seriously, stop your agenda. It's not very flattering to you or the girls.
  18. +1 /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. I am not a WC parent, just giving props where they are due. I see WC play at least twice a year, more if we play them in the district tourny. If you don't believe the coaching change has made a difference at WC then you know nothing about softball. Not that the new coach is great, she has a long way to go as far as softball knowledge. It's moreso that the previous coaches had the players too tense and uptight. I'd love for some WC parents and players to chime in on this.
  20. Not Mr. Knowitall but Wilson Central is undefeated. 13-0 or 14-0 maybe? I'm not sure but anyway, Leevie is pitching lights out and they're hitting the ball well. Savannah Bell is an absolute stud behind the plate, a great hitter and is a blur running the bases. She may be the must under rated player in Middle Tn. If I was starting a team, she would be at the top of my list. Anybody who has seen them play the last few years knows how much they under achieved. They have had a lot of talent but now, with the coaching change, they are playing up to their potential. Congrats to them on a great season so far!
  21. Kelsey is a Sr. and I'm pretty sure she has signed with Auburn. She is a great kid and it is fun watching her play the game. Hats off to her and her Goodpasture teammates and coaches, there are a class act and class program.
  22. Coach Pedigo isn't the problem. She is a very, very good coach. There are some parents who have always gotten their way for their little darlings in middle school and travel ball. Coach Pedigo doesn't play that game and there are some parents who can't live with that. If some girls leave it will be addition by subtraction, if you know what I mean. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  23. MJ lost 8 seniors from last season's team, 7 of which signed college scholarships. they are starting 5 freshmen and there are 10 freshmen on the team along with 2 seniors, 2 juniors, 3 sophomores. only 1 pitcher returned from last year's team and she only pitched in about 6-8 games. can there be another team in the state that is this young? what they have done so far is a testament of coach pedigo's ability!
