I went to a few games last year and while they may have decent facilities, their field is horrible. The outfield had holes and the mound was not good at all. The catcher couldn't block any of the balls in the dirt because they would hit the plate and bounce over the back stop. Those aren't the things good fields have.

It will probably end up being ND and CCS in the city, CCS picked up the "big sticks" they needed last year. I saw them play at Soddy Daisy and there first five batters could flat hit the ball. I don't know if it was bad pitching or good hitting, we will just have to see. They also have 7 returning starters, with a loaded pitching staff. This District could easily be the toughest in AA.

In the city conference, it will be between Notre Dame, CCS, and Hixson. Notre Dame a couple of very good players, one being last years starting catcher. They have a very good pitcher, but not much depth. CCS could surprise some people once again this year. CCS will return a strong pitching staff, 2 seniors and 2 juniors. It could be the strongest batting lineup from top to bottom. Hixson will also be tough as well, they have a very strong ace, and returning several players.

Red Bank will be a tough team to beat this year. They got some transfers from Ooltewah, and already have 3 players signed on with Cleveland State. Brandon Ward will lead their pitching staff. He is probably the top pitcher in this area. I've heard he is giving it up to play center field though, which he enjoys more.

Losing to a team you should beat always motivates one to play harder, and focus more. Look for McMasters to have a big game.
