  1. There is some truth to your above statements. Coach Traywick did indeed inquire about the Jeff Co job, BUT not for himself or anyone on his staff. He was approached by another coach that he is good friends with that wanted to know details. I will not mention that coach out of respect for him & his program. Coach Traywick has many benefits at SCHS, the indoor facility compares to major colleges, the playing field is one of the best around, if he needs things done, they get done!, there is a strong pipeline of talent starting to flow into the program, last year's Seniors laid the foundation, this years Seniors built the "House". There are very few programs in the area that have what SCHS offers. If he decided to leave, we would wish him the Best, but would tell him it would be a mistake, I have personally told him this last year! When you have a turn around in a program like what has happened at SCHS, there will always be rumors and suitors! It just shows that people want what you have!!! As far as the trash talking that has started, seems to be between Jeff Co fans & Sevier Co fans, it needs to stop! Jeff played us close 2 games this year, we were fortunate enough to be 3-0 against them. They have a Good Ball club that pused us very hard & I wish them the Best! This is a PUBLIC Forum and is no place to call out players that are under 18 and trash them! Players from rivals are always going to talk, but keep it on the field! I respect both players wanting to win so bad that emotions ran high. That is the difference between a starter and someone on the bench, they care, heart and soul! This forum was made to discuss what is going on, like, like it or not...the all district team, what is going on with the team (not trashing the Coaches or players), schedules, questions, etc..... If someone thinks I went to far in discussing the All District Team, I apologize, but If you were in SC's shoes, would you not feel the same? I am open about who I am, Just look at my screen name, Solo-mon 2, my son plays for SCHS & is a Senior & the 1B. I know most of Seymour and quite a few of SD players & parents, along with a few from Jeff. I have coached or coached against a lot of them on their way up! It's fun to want to beat someone that you played with or against for so many years, just don't cross the line to trash them! I have really enjoyed the new Rivalries that have come about in the IMAC this year! (Mo West & East, Cherokee & Cocke Co (if they keep Chrisman (SP?) look for good things!)) If there were no emotions in games, they would not be very fun to watch! I RESPECT every team and wish all of you all the Best & Injury free seasons next year! Just please keep these forums clean from trashing each other! I appreciate the good will from you. And I was not trashing SC players in general. I just saw the incident at home plate a little different than what you did. Emotions were high and I respect and accept that. I was really just trying to get the point across that you cant really whine over the All-District team. Politics play a part in everything! I enjoy the rivalry of all the IMAC teams. This conference is so much better now that SC, SD and Seymour were added. I am just glad that Greeneville is no longer a regular on any schedule now......talk about home-cooking in Greene County! I am proud of the Patriots....they are a great bunch of kids that really came on strong at the end of the year. #6 seed going to the Region! Plus they can flat out hit the ball! Go IMAC! Go Patriots! Go SC Bears!
  2. Hey PatriotGrad! What the heck is Solo-man talking about? Point your finger at Sunshine? I was being complimentary about the players. He is very angry about this All-district Team.....He needs to get over it.
  3. We are enjoying the Championships!! I am not whining....just pointing out a fact. Your Patriots got HOT in the Tourney, but the selections were chosen based on their 6-8 record in the season, the vote was last week before the tourney. Right is right, wrong is wrong. Like I said in an earlier post, NO RESPECT for SC. Everyone picked us to get beat and not even contend in the tourney including you sunshine. It is just a shame that the selections couldn't be settled on the field, like the Championships were. By the way, SC has 5 already committed with colleges & 2 others exploring their options & offers. Farragut (SS), Fields (CF) with King College, Solomon (1B) with Maryville College, Clabo (1B) & White (OF) with Berea College.....Houser & Flynn are both still being recruited & have not made up their minds yet. Not sure what you are talking about. I never said that Sevier Co would not contend in the tourney. Get your facts straight before you spout.
  4. Maybe the other coaches didn't think those SC players were as good as others in the league. I realize that SC won the championship but maybe SC just had solid players from top to bottom with only 3 or 4 that really stood out. That Flynn kid is a no-brainer.....and personally, I thought Seymour had the most talented athletes in the league. SC folks should be basking in the glory of a championship and not whining about the all-district team, because in the end that championship year is what people will remember! I agree with Seymour having a lot of talent but are post season awards being handed out for talent or achievement. I'm sure SC would rather have the Championships but one or two kids were just left out. I saw the Houser kid pitch against Jeff County and he certainly deserved to be on the All District team. Kids get overlooked all the time. Not the first time nor the last time. I am sure every team had 1 or 2 kids that could have-should have. A .350 batting average probably should not make the team when most picked have over .400. However, a winning record in pitching against quality teams should.....but life isn't fair.

  6. I don't know about the rest of the All District Team but all 4 of the Jeff County players that made it batted way above .400 and were difference makers on the field. All 4 are deserving of the honor and will most likely play college ball if they want to. 3 of them did not make the team last year so it is not based on last season either. They just had a solid 2010 season. Good luck to the Smoky Bears and Jeff County...Hope the IMAC can prevail!
  7. Why don't you just go ahead and sign your post "Love those Bears". Seriously, Good luck to all in tournament. It should be exciting.
  8. That has got to be the funniest thing I have heard in a long time! Very true, too!
  9. It was a blatant punch- just ask the kid who got knocked in the jaw by the catcher. Everyone saw it where I was sitting, very obvious! And no JC player even went towards the SC dugout or a SC player. They came out to get their teammate separated from the situation.
  10. I was at the game and emotions were high. The JC player that was tagged out came up pushing the SC catcher off of him and the SC guy pushed back: both players were pushing each other and then the Sevier Co player threw a punch to the face clear as day! Not saying that they both should not have been ejected but that punch was blatant. Then the Sevier Co coach started arguing and chest bumping the ump. What the heck is his problem, the ump called the JC guy out! The JC players all jumped out to get the JC player out of a fight. Hats off to both benches for not letting it get too bad! The guy that looked the worst was the SC coach who did not appear to be a good role-model at that moment. Very good game though!
  11. Its all good JeffCo...Just misunderstood your post... Just hope that the PATS can peak now. Great Win last night against Powell and their very good pitcher. Our lefties had some trouble hitting but the team pulled it out in the end which has not been the norm for them this year. Our pitchers were on.....Lambert was hitting his spots and Kirkpatrick had some timely strikeouts with the curve....and the coaches finally called for the bunt at the right time! Go Patriots!
  12. I think you are totally out of line saying the seniors do not care. The two that have committed to colleges are showing alot of heart and look pretty darn good, the "pitcher only" wants to win bad, the one "focused only on school" spent 4 tough months rehabbing his knee after ACL surgery to get to play his senior year. Look at the stats, the seniors are on the top. Don't be such a downer......
  13. Right on Brother! JCHS is definitely in the mix and they play with alot of guts.
  14. Not sure who is on the bench that whats-his-name thinks should start but I dont see it.....The outfielders that are starting are all solid. 2nd year starters for a reason and it is not because they are brown-nosing the coaches!
  15. No. EK is a senior CF/Pitcher-3 year varsity starter. Have not seen EU play at the varsity level yet at JCHS. Maybe he has been hurt?
