What were the immature comments? A lot of Memphis players are thugs in my opinion. I dont like Memphis area schools because it is the MBA. They constatntly make trades and recruit players. Do you find it ironic that Memphis area teams are on a 2 year domination cycle. White Station dominates 2 years, then Ridgeway 2, then Melrose 2. That just doesnt happen my friend. If Murfreesboro schools just rotated an all-star team every 2 years we would dominate too.

I didnt disappear nor was a proven wrong. I said that i didn't think Melrose would win by 35-40 pts like the rest of you did. Melrose won by 23. Outscoring Siegel by 18 the 1st quarter and 5 the last 3 quarters. I never said Siegel was going to win that game. I said they wouldnt get beat by 35+ which they didnt. I dont think Wortman is a bad hire but I DEFINATELY wouldnt say they "knocked it out of the park" here.

Decker is going to Oakland Middle. He supposedly told his players sometime this week. Heard it brought up at an AAU practice. Good hire for Oakland Middle. Wright must be happy to have someone in there that knows what they are doing and teaching his future players.

The key word for Riverdale basketball in my opinion is POTENTIAL. There is and has been potential in that school for a long time. Craig returns along with Chesterfield and Deandre. If the new coach could get Odom to come back, that would give him a pretty athletic front 4. Size may be what hurts Riverdale. Craig is 6'6. There are talks of the Carrol kid from Siegel but I would not count on him. if he was any good and a decent kid, Siegel would not have let him walk around their hallways for 2 years without playing. Think about it!!

Thought Woodson's son was zoned for Blackman and thats why he wanted the job so bad. It really doesnt matter as his son can go where ever he goes.

basketball has never been my strength nor have i claimed it to be one so unless they were in our district i probably wont know them by name. if i do i usually dont know if they are a good coach as in basketball i do not know what it takes to be a great coach Ah thats true. Riverdale fans wouldnt know anything about the coach in the other half of our region. Seeing as how they never make it that far!!

Where was he 95-97? And I'm not interested in a NEWSPAPER naming him coach of the year. OVC Champ was as an assistant.

When did he win a girls state championship? The early 90s? And where is Blackman transitionaing from? They have the athletes and players there as can be seen by their very successful freshmen teams. After their freshmen year they quit cause they couldn't stand the coach. So yes, I need you to say more about why he is such an amazing hire. We still arent convinced!!

Lets go in order here. I dont remember him doing anything when he was at Lavergne. Maybe did something when he had the Georgetown signee Willie Taylor. I know 4 of the last 5 years he was there he was knocked out of the district tourny in the first round. And that was in a district that did not include teams with the athletes of Riverdale Oakland and Siegel. At Moorehead St. he had some success as an ASSISTANT COACH. At Oak Ridge last season he went 15-14. Not knocking the guy, I just don't see what makes him an amazing hire. This isn't like football where Blackman hired a guy who had won 2 State Championships as a HEAD COACH.

True IceCold, but Riverdale made their big announcement. Why not Blackman? I think they may have lost a few candidates by holding out so long. And the way that information spreads around Rutherford Co., if they had told anybody who was hired, it would be out there.

Im with you on this one JC. I dont see what the hold up is. Its time for summer scheduling and getting ready for camps. I don't understand what the hold up is. If Kevin Thomas wants the job, I dont see why they would be holding out. Really Woodson or Thomas either one.

Wow that is an interesting point rook. I think the big question now is did Blackman shoot themselves in the foot by waiting so long to hire a new coach. With Riverdale opening up now, that may look more attractive to some. IMO, Riverdale seems to have better athletes than Blackman. Any thoughts?
