  1. A player does not receive a technical for "flopping" during a judgement charge/block call. A player receives a technical when there is no contact made and the defensive players falls anyway. It is a technical to help protect the offensive player from breaking an ankle on defender that slid underneath him and flopped on the ground. Please understand the rules of the game if you are going to post on here. You are the same parents I hear yelling "how was it a foul if he didn't even touch him?" That's exactly why its a foul!!!!
  2. Congrats to Ensworth on winning another championship. Nothing like beating Livingston Academy in a championship game. What a joke. Grow a pair and play some real competition Bowers!! Corn should be playing some real cometition and getting some real exposure. Not the private school BS that everyone knows is a joke. Just imagine if Corn went somewhere where he would actually receive coaching and have a chance to shine against quality opponents. Bad choice Corn.
  3. I don't remember Siegel having any trouble out of #23. Please feel me in. And if you are comparing him to the person who is the topic of this thread, #23 was never remanded to an alternative school for possession. Ced's brother Neil played at Siegel but they are no where near the same kid. Neil was a little lazy and lacked focus but Ced is nothing but a punk. Thats just a dumb comment about #23 for Siegel. Please fill us in almighty Randy.
  4. I think you have your Cedric's mixed up. Cedric Williams WAS at Riverdale but is now at Siegel. Cedric Carroll who is the player now at Riverdale is a punk. He was kicked off of Siegel's team when he was a fresh and sent to an alternative school for things I'm not going to mention on CoachT. I can totally see him doing something like this. We will see Woodson's true colors here if he keeps this kid and tollerates these actions in his program.
  5. Chambers may in fact get the job, but the reason he has them at team camp is because he is the assistant. Bill Hockenberry had them at team camp a couple of years ago and lord knows he wasn't going to get the job!!
  6. Your arguement makes no sense. I nkow you don't use summer ball as a comparison but BigEns said to look at what happens when Ensworth plays a Rutherford Co. team. Those were the only 2 games big dummy! And Lavergne got bounced in the 1st rd for a reason. So yet we are still waiting to see what makes Ensworth so great. BigEns himself said it wasn't academics and he can't list anyone Ensworth has produced. So I guess the Rutherford Co. public schools win the debate!!!
  7. You have to be joking. the only Rutherford co. team you played was Lavergne who was beat in the 1st round of the district tournament. The only other Rutherford co. team I saw you play was Siegel at the Belmont Camp and you got blown out of the gym. Maybe you should check your facts!! I can list plenty of Rutherford co. players I would have before Corn Elder. Not bashing him but he is your best player so put him up against Rutherford co. best players. And don't dodge the question. Who has Ensworth ever produced in a major sport? Basketball, Baseball, Football??
  8. I decided to take a look at Ensworth's schedule: You played 5 quality oponents the ENTIRE SEASON!!! CPA - Lost Beech - Lost by 10 Clarksville NE - Lost by 20 Lavergne - Won (Lavergne got beat in the 1st Rd. of 7AAA tourn.) Hillsboro - Won (Hillsboro finished 3rd an a weak District 11AAA) Bet yall had fun beating up on the little crappy teams you played though!! Do you not think that a college coach considers the opponents a player is going against when he is evaluating them? "Man he really looked good last night playing against a bunch of 5'7 rich white kids. I bet he would be a stud in the SEC!!" What a joke.
  9. Wow you just said it yourself. "And for those who are bashing ENSWORTH academics, Bowers doesn't care about the grades what he cares about is getting the kids in who are going to attract big name colleges to the school." So you can't sell the whole "come get a private school education" pitch anymore. With that being said, Ensworth's athletics are sub-par compared to the top Rutherford co. programs. So why would I want to send my kid there? Also, you talk about attracting the big names and the kids that have gone on to the NBA or big time colleges from private schools. Who has Ensworth produced that was a big time signee? And I don't want to hear about some one on the rowing team!!!!! I do however agree with your Lavergne High comments. Ash is an idiot. the culture of that school will drive him into the ground!!
  10. Ive been trying to find some documentation on how good Ensworth's academics are. I can't find it anywhere. i see about all of the facilities and "things" that Ensworth has but not anything about ACT SAT scores etc. When did public schools supposedly become so bad? Beyond academics is social skills. Are kids who go to school with other kids who drive Porsches to school really learning any social skills? How much about the "real world" would I have learned if all of my friends parents had tons of money and just did whatever they wanted without any type of real world application? Give me a public school education any day of the week. School is what you make it...not what it makes of you. And I'm sure the Elder family's decision to choose Ensworth had nothing to do with his dad being paid to be a "bus driver" for the school. a.k.a. getting paid to take your son to school.
  11. You have to be joking. District 7AAA is just that...AAA. That means you are playing the biggest and best schools in the state. The Mboro teams have to get past the amazing Memphis teams and traditionally strong teams from east TN. As I said, we don't play a team like Father Ryan in the state championship. Not knocking Father Ryan, but Father Ryan and Ensworth wouldn't even be a Top 3 team in 7AAA. Much less play for a AAA state championship. Parents need to learn that the way a player gets better is by playing against good competition everyday in practice and in games. Going to Ensworth does absolutely nothing to help your son get any better. That would be like Chris Jones transferring from Memphis Melrose to Forrest or some A school. Yeah he would dominate that league but what is he really accomplishing? Nothing. He isn't getting any better everyday in practice playing against scrubs and he isn't proving anything on the court playing against a bunch of rich kids that couldn't cut it in public schools. Period. End of story. Ensworth is a joke. I say this because you try to recruit the best players in the state and still can't hang with the public schools. Corn Elder would be on every recruitting list in the nation if he would have went to Oakland. the kid is good and he will get himself recruitted...not Ensworth. What needs to happen is all the public schools need to "black ball" the private schools that are coming in and recruitting our kids. DO NOT SCHEDULE THEM!!!!!!
  12. The only kids they get at Lancaster are the kids that couldn't cut it at the public school.
  13. Why he was held back, is not a topic for Coach T....Those are personal circumstances. Here is my rule, if you are not big enough to question the person involved personally, don't put it on CoachT. I know you don't have that much heart. Your heart is very fictional, because you don't have one. This my email natebuntyn@hotmail.com if you have a certain message you would like me to give to Chris or one of his family members. Have a good day little boy. I didn't ask why he was held back. I simply stated that it is a huge advantage when you have a 20 year old man playing against high school kids. If you don't realize that, you have either never played sports or you're an idiot. I wish the kid the best of luck and I hope he succeeds at the next level. But when Memphis people get on here talking as much garbage as they do they need to be called out on certain issues. Most of your schools are target schools meaning your graduation rates are too low and testing is terrible which allows for open zoning which is how your coaches are able to create a "dream team" of talent. You have 19 year old juniors playing. Memphis has more talent than anywhere in the state, but you put together a Rutherford co. all star team and I guarantee you they play with you all day long. Rutherford co. has the athletes we just have zones and regulations we follow. As can be seen on the football field... our athletes are just as good as yours.
  14. Yet you still get dominated by the public schools. How amusing. And you still dont win your little private school championship. HAHAHAHAHAH. Must be nice to play Father Ryan every year in the state championship game. What a joke.
  15. Better question is whats going on at Lavergne High? First come the rumors that Ash is basically running everything for Couey and the boys program. Now comes Dean retiring from the girls program and he is accusing Ash of basically the same. Whats going on with Lavergne High School basketball? boys and girls. Sounds like Ash just needs to become the coach since he is making all of the decisions. This isn't middle school big dummy!!
  16. You're right it doesn't necessarily make you better but it certainly does give you a heck of an advantage. And the national enquirer is full of fictional stories. Nothing here is fictional.
  17. The question now becomes: when was he held back? And did he or his parents hold dim back or did he fail and have to repeat a grade? And he was held back twice? Wow. Now don't get me wrong the kid is a heck of a player, but imagine if you took a junior in high school that was pretty good and then you said "yeah, he's just a freshmen". You don't think that creates an advantage? Imagine if Kerry Hammonds and Jamal Hughes were just sophomores this year and Cedric Williams was just a freshman. Wow!!!! Talk about some talent!!!
  18. "Re-classing"? is that what tehy call it now in Memphis? Where I come from its called holding a player back a year so he can be bigger/stronger/faster than everyone else!!!
  19. Ive been hearing rumors around middle tennessee that Chris Jones of Melrose will be transferring to a prep school next year because of his age. I have heard that he is currently 19 years old as a junior which would make him ineligable next season at Melrose. Is there any truth to this?????
  20. This is all the fact i need to know about Hooper: I had the pleasure of watching Tae Martin, Robert Brandon, and Damien Clark play all season at Siegel as freshmen. You could tell that they were way better players at the end of the season than they were at the beginning. The silly mistakes that they were making at the beginning of the year were not there at the end of the season. And by silly I mean doing things that they should have been taught not to do in middle school but obviously weren't. Now wether it was them adjusting to the high school level or it was someone teaching them the right way to play basketball, I dont know. But they were a lot better at the end of the season than they were at the beginning.
  21. on the varsity level Blackman was more talented the year they won the state sectionl. I was said as far as jv those 3 years central was more talented just outcoached And Hooper was the jv coach then right? Need I say more?
  22. So was Blackman more talented or did they out-coach and out-play central?
  23. This is very true Ice Cold. With the new schools opening up that will split up some of the talent. Less talent=greater need of a good coach. Central has just always seemed to have more talent on their JV team than most teams had on their varsity! ha ha
  24. Yeah Packers I agree. From what I saw of Decker this season, he is not as cocky or arrogant as Dotson. Plus no one I've talked to has anything bad to say about him. He will be working a lot with Coach Wright at OHS so that should help him a lot as well. Interesting info Ice Cold. I agree with you. It seems that the South Division will be the tough division in my opinion as well.
