  1. And why does this opinion cause such rancor? I just can't figure it out. I happen to be in agreement here and nobody, including me, is trying to'belittle' Heckman. I happen to think he is a very talented athelete. Good luck trying to stay rational.
  2. Sorry, again I'm new to this. Which card would that be? You appear to be holding all the cards, or knowledge of them.
  3. Ahh, name calling! What a debater you are. Perhaps you should post your address so all in agreement can send you the awards you so richly deserve for all that you have so selflessly done for Independence. Maybe a Williamson County Peace Prize?
  4. I believe I've also opined about the possibility of Shepperd playing at wideout as well. Perhaps those posts were censored? You see, I'm still new to this whole 'posting' thing and am not quite sure what you can and can not have an opinion about. I'm awaiting clarification from tnsparty as he seems to be the BMOC here. Perhaps you are his helper as it seems that the only thing you two want to do is silence any other opinons other than the bandwagon consences. If you also have a copy of the rules and such about posting, please be so kind as to post them for me so I know who I can and can not have an opinion about and the correct way to share any acceptable opinions I may have. Thank you for your help in this matter. And thanks for telling me about my 'pal'. I didn't know I had one. This whole 'posting' thing is truly amazing!
  5. You're right! I believe Cordelle was 2nd or 3rd on the depth carts as I recall also last Spring. And who started the first game of the season? Opps! Sorry, I posted without knowing what I was 'allowed' to post. Still waiting for instructions on opinion regulation. Please advise ASAP.
  6. Sorry, I'm new to this whole 'posting' thing and didn't realize that you were the keeper of the rules. Well, at least you recognized the language! Maybe that's why you run things here, eh? Opps, that's Canadian, isn't it? Can we still have credibility using a Canadaian expression? I thought a 'forum' was simply about expressing your opinion. I didn't know it was to try and 'influence' coachs, etc. Wow! What power! So much to learn, so little time. Please, oh wonderous keeper of the rules, 'post' a copy of what we can and can not say so we can all jump on this bandwagon and not upset anyone. It would be very enlightning and appreciated.
  7. Read my other posts and think. I believe I'm clear that what I am saying are 'observations'- opinions, not lobbying or any other interests/agendas. Unlike some of the 'bandwagoning' I've read over the past year, I simply state what I 'observe'. This is the only reason I began to post this year to begin with. The amount of dribble, bandwagons, and fast opinion turnarounds was beginning to get to me, I guess. It was like trying to track Italy during WWll! Look up the history of changing sides if that one got past you.
  8. How very true! An excellent observation! And where and when was this last observed? Ummm....let me see now...Oh Yeah! Murfreesboro at the State Championship!
  9. The answer to that is the 'ordaination' of Cordelle. But, of course, you already knew that.
  10. Ahhh, another who is not blinded by the light! Interesting, n'est pas?
  11. Ahh the eternal promise of the 'preordained' spring. As in years past. Not 'lobbying ' for anything or one, simply stating observations.
  12. Donathan, you have seen fit to be insulting. A true debater. I believe you have politics in your future as you have jumped on more bandwagons than Al Gore in the past year and are continually asking for an address to send something. Stupid is as stupid does...
  13. Not an 'inside' person, or an 'agent'. Simpley an observer who also believes that if Cordelle would have stayed one step ahead of the law he would have played all year, regardless of his abysmal performance in the spring or any other time. That seems to be the way things are 'preordained' at Indy. And yes there are 'other' spots that maybe some kids should get a look at(Shepperd at wide-out comes to mind), but don't hold your breath on these either.
  14. Can't argue with you there about the performance at state. Records are one thing, but only victory counts and is remembered.
  15. No one seems to think Indy will do anything this year? What I saw of Brentwood last year didn't amount to much.
  16. The pick 6's I've seen occured when the receiver either was not looking to get the ball, or turned in the wrong direction in anticipation and telegraphed the play. Again, the QB does not call the play, nor does he catch the ball. He runs what is called and hopes it's the right call and all involved execute correctly.
  17. That's a good 'guess' to venture about the QB situation, but I wouldn't count on it. It may appear that there is 'opportunity' being given, but I believe it is already a done deal at that spot. I 'guess' it has to do with an amazing ability to walk on water or something else I must have missed.
  18. How can you not 'trust' a QB to run what is called? That is what happened in the early games. What was called didn't work on offence or defence. In high school football, the 'playmakers' are the coaches not the QB(despite what some people may think). There are very few 'playmakers' in high school football at any position, with the possible exception of running back(by sheer force of will sometimes). If I have a kid who calls himself a 'playmaker' at QB he will have a come to Jesus meeting and if he decides he is the 'playmaker' after that, he will be making them from the bench. Has anyone ever heard of the old corporate axim "What do you do with the indespensible man?" Does any one know the answer? OK, the answer is, you fire him! There can be no indespensible man in any team situation.
  19. He didn't get the job done? I'd say it was the entire team and coaches that didn't get the job done in the early games. It is, after all, supposed to be a team sport with support from and for all involved. Read my original post again and see if you understand it. No one is 'belittling' Alex Heckman here. Simply stating observations about the coincidence of when the running back got healthy and the defence and coaches got confident. And speculating on their fortunes this year without the same set of circumstances.
  20. It's interesting that some have recognized that there are other players capable of contributing to this teams future ( Shepperd/Smith) if given the opportunity. Last year was a set of circumstances that I don't see being repeated this year. The program was in turmoil with the loss of the starter QB and a new (unsure) head coach. Heckman just happened to be the one placed under center at the clarksville game when the running back got healthy and the coachs started to gain a little more confidence in their play calling. And we all know the old adage.....if it ain't broke... That rout was a huge confidence builder for everyone. Well, that's my view of it. This year, they don't have that type of running game that I know of and their defence will not be as pounding. I believe they will have to go back to a quick passing game to score often. And that requires a QB who is not prone to pull the ball down and run more often than not. But, we shall see, I suppose. I hope it doesn't take too long for this to be realized and the change is made as quickly as it was last year and the QB is at least given the same support and time to contibute. I also hope that Shepperd is given more opportunity to display his abilities in the offence(not solely on special teams). This kid can be a big contributer if given the chance, time, and support.
