  1. Yes...I was at that game. The only bad call I recall was the NON-FUMBLE call at the end of the game on an on-side kick. Bearden really shot theriselves in the foot, back, and head in that game, which I will say was not the coaching staffs fault. I do not expect anyone(here on CoachT) to agree with me, and I respect that. But, I assure you I am not the only one in Maroon & Grey that feels this way. I will stand by my opinion and I am 1 yr and 4 days away from the proof in the pudding. With Beardens win loss record.
  2. "Sour Grapes Crusade"? No need to argue this point at all. Their weakness will be shown again on thursday. Bearden will be one or two and done in the playoff's again this season, and will not have a good win/loss record next season or most likely the next 3. My statments will be proven correct in time. Yes, I do not know all the coaches in East TN. I do not know ALL the coaches on Beardens staff. I DO know 7 of them and the arrogance the pretrude off of them. I also know enough about HS football to know what is a good staff and what is not. I sit in the stands and watch, I sit a listen to what parents have to say. I also listen to what players have to say. I have SEEN and HEARD enough to know many people do not like this staff. The parents and players I listen to PLAY key roles in this program. None are scrubs or parents of scrubs. As far as me being spoiled, not a chance. My upbringing did not provide any resorces for that. However, I do have 4 children that are very spoiled. None of which play football or attend BHS. So that shouldn't skew my opinion either..
  3. I been keeping eye on this HVA program. Kinda easy when your kids attend the school. Coach Jones and his staff is doing a great job with what they are working with. I feel like in 4 to 6 more years this porgram will be the bench-mark of Knox County football. HVA is starting to get into the meat of their schedule, so we wee see how for real they are. Powell is just a juggernaut right now. I love the attitude this team plays with also. IMO...Powell 35+ HVA 21..
  4. First off, Bearden is not a one man show. But, Coach Quarles will make us look like we are. Bearden has a very, very , very good O-Line, not the same calibur as Alcoa's though. IMO...Bottomline to this game is Maryville's coaching staff, they are the "X" factor or "IT" factor. They will out coach Bearden and make Coach Taylor and his crew look like a bunch of bumbleing idiots. I truly feel like Bearden has probally the best all around tallent a team can ask in the state. Not saying they are the best, just saying they can give anyone one heckuva a game. BUT, the coaching staff they have is just terrible, I mean some of the worst I have seen. Coach Taylor and his crew have done nothing but survivied on the tallent they have had the past 5 yrs. Next year, for those that have not seen what I have or just refuse to believe, will be proof. Bearden in 2011 will not 5 games, the year after maybe 3, 4 at the most.
  5. As much as I hate to say it, I don't think Devrin Young will be in Knoxville either.
  6. Devrin Young, RB , Bearden. 1005 rushing yards 1900+ apy 18 td's
  7. I agree. Hopefully he can correct whatever the issue is/was and continue his career in college.
  8. Patrick Haun Sr. WR dismissed from team....http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2010/sep/21/haun-top-receiver-top-ranked-catholic-dismissed-te/ The Catholic High School football team will be without starting senior wide receiver Patrick Haun when it plays host to rival Webb School of Knoxville on Friday night. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Haun, 17, was dismissed from the team for undisclosed reasons and is no longer a student at Catholic, athletics director Jason Surlas confirmed Tuesday night. Catholic is 4-0 and ranked No. 1 in the state in the Associated Press Class 5A poll, and has been the past four weeks. Through Catholic’s first four games, Haun had served as quarterback Mike Wegzyn’s favorite target, catching 21 passes for 389 yards and five touchdowns. His six catches for 174 yards and two touchdowns helped Catholic win a District 4-AAA game at William Blount, 27-10, this past Friday night and earned him a nomination for PrepXtra offensive player of the week.
  9. Maybe you guys should call Dr. Phil. Looks like Rhea Co. football has so many issue it could be a week long special.
  10. Los, I don't know if you know them better than me? But, I know Dev's Momma likes you better than me...LOL Keep up the good work!!!!
  11. Ok...I guess, I need to go and smack my best-friend whom I have for 20 yrs, that is Devrin's step-father for lying to me. While, I am at it, I will smack Devrin upside the head too. What makes you an authority on this subject?
  12. Devrin Young may not be worthy of all world status. But as one has said RC defense showed him to much attention. Will all that attention, he still racked up 196 yards and 2 TD's on 13 carries. That is 15.07 yards per carry, if the calculator on my cell phone is correct. 18 TD's and over 1000 all purpose yards in 4 games and still can't impress some people.
  13. I do not know if this is sarcasm or not. But, Devrin has gotten scholarship offers from plenty, Stanford being the only D1 school. IMO..He would get the same offers if he played for Coach Camerom's offense. The reason, I say this is Coach Taylor's offense only succeeds because of his players. Him and his staff are bye far are some of the worst in the state and many and Bearden do not care for them. Imo..next season Bearden will be a 5-5 or 4-6 team and that is me thinking positive.
  14. I said in my 1st post, I was just going to keep it "simple" and Bearden by 21. I will give your defense credit for keeping Devrin pinned up and only letting him score 2 TD's. But, your boys definatly didn't live up to all the smack you guys talked all week, here.
  15. I can't speak for Devrin, but IMO if he read the title of this thread he would ask it read Rhea Co vs Bearden. He is a very humble young man. I will also leave all the stats and technical predictions to my man OrangeBlur. I will keep it simple. Bearden by 21, and Young has another highlight real preformance. Hope both teams stay healthy and God Bless.
  16. I agree with 90% of you posted. The only thing I disagree with is "Bearden's Horses". Bearden has the horses this year to make a deep playoff run. But, they have one of the worst coaching staff's in the state. So, I predict that they will be 1 maybe 2 and done in the playoffs again. In 2011 everyone will see that the staff has survived on good tallent the last 5 yrs, but wasted it.
  17. Here is something too that should ruffle the feathers of all who don't beleive Devrin ran a 4.34 forty. Friday night before the combine. He was at UT hospital staying the night with a friend, who had a tragic accident. I was there all night also. He went to sleep at 4 am got up at 7 and left to get ready for the combine. The 3 hours sleep he did have was sitting upright in a chair. So, IMO he would have ran a 4.3 flat with a good nights rest.
  18. OK Cat, you and I got off on the wrong foot. To me it looks like you do your homework before you post your opinions and remarks here. For that, I have alot of respect for you. Word of advice. Just ignore some or most posters here. They are either goons that like to make thierself feel smart, or fans/parents that are jealous of another players success.. I have know Devrin since he was about 5 yrs old and Coached him for many yrs in the Rec. Leagues. I wish, I had a nickle for everytime I have defended him on these boards or in person. All I have, ever heard is he is not that good, or he is too small. That is why, I made the comment to you earlier, I did. I apologize for that. Take what others post with a grain of salt. You were there, they weren't. Good Luck. Bottomline is...Every tool that post's here would love for him to play for thier team.
  19. Maybe he is.........maybe he isn't. It's a fact that 4.34 is faster than all but 1 at the NFL Combines this year. Jacoby Ford, Receiver/Clemson ran a 4.28. The other top 10 receivers were 4.41-4.49. RB's top 10's were 4.35-4.58. DB's top 10's were 4.45-4.48. All I'm saying is that's a "hard to believe" time for a High School player. I know for a fact Devin is fast, really fast. I have seen his 40 times anywhere in the high 4.3's to the high 4.4's. 4.34 is definatly in his ability to run, but human error could be a factor.
  20. You can have your opinion..But, your delviery of it, is what is wrong with world. You could have said who you thought should have gotten the MVP award and why. But, you just said Devrin did not rightly deserve it. So, I ask you why he didn't and who did? Make a statment that is open for debate. Not a statement that sounds of jealousy. Well I think that DMAN from Fulton was moe deserving of the running back MVP...he was poractically unguardable at the combine in 1 on 1s and 7 on 7 work! He go several oohs and aahs from the other players!!! To be honest I thought maybe the best performer there may have been the DB from Mt. Juliet Josh Shelton...and the OLB from AE was really long and impressive!!! Josh Sawyer was the AE kids name! And the overall Offensive MVP should have bee the WR from AE also really good routes and very good athlete!!! Also another TB from somewhere and could not tell what the jersey was he had on...it looked like Mo WEst or something like that but I could not tell and did not get his name!!! There you go sir. Since, I was not there and cannot disagree with you at all. I do respect others opinions.

  22. I went to combine today and it was well organized up until the point of the 7 on 7 when they picked a top 10 for every position and then almost every OR kid stayed around and it really was not fair for the kids that were picked top 10...also Devrin Young althoughand extremely talented kid got picked for running back MVP and overall offensive MVP...he was not deserving of that today although he did run a 4.34 40 yd dash! Gotta love the Devrin Young haters!!!
  23. I don't have a dog in this hunt, but I do know Coach Satterfield very well. He is a man of character and when he left Grace he showed a great amount of class by keeping his mouth shut. Anything he would have said publically would have had the public stench of sour grapes. If he knew of improprieties, then he did the right thing by not airing the dirty laundry in public. If he has the character you speak of, I find it highly unlikely that he would be doing what the other said too. To far fetched fo me to beleive.
  24. I don't know Coach Satterfield, and not a fan or supporter of GCA (which I have said many times). But, this post is hard for me to beleive. #1. If he was there and is it as bad as you say, he says it is. Then he is not a person of chacrector that I could beleive. Also, if he went along with it then that would make him a Crook and a Cheater too. #2. If it was going on and it could be proven, a call to the TSSAA would not have opened him up to a lawsuit. Only, making unfounded accusations wuld have done that. #3. If he is being a good samartian now and calling teams to "WARN" them, that is opening him up too a lawsuit too. I don't think he has to tell anyone know also. It is commom knowledge. Sorry, not calling you a lier. But, this is just too far fetched.
