  1. CBHS claims another. I've seen both teams play this year. Christian Brothers is faster at every position and just play a better brand of soccer. Father Ryan is strong enough on D to keep it close.

Brentwood / Farragut is way too close to call. I'm not sure who is better as I only saw both teams early in the season. Although I'm rooting for Brentwood to go back to back. I think Hendersonville will ultimately be the second best team this year making Farragut #1.

  2. This is one of those games where too much ref involvement turned a good game for Hendersonville into a chance for Clarksville to stay in it. Two phantom penalties in the box and one with under 5 minutes on the clock. Not saying Clarksville is not a good team because they really are and I think stand a good chance of beating Brentwood. They had their own missed opportunities in the match. It was a great effort from both squads and both left it all out on the field.

  3. I have followed the post about the fire for this season and the fire have played JPII, Ravenwood and independence all of these teams have been ranked number one in the state overall at some point in the season there record against these teams are 2-1 sure some teams might not take it as serious as a big rivalries but still a wins a win and the fact is they won

All I have to say is this. If the MT Fire beats Farragut (and I believe they can) or even ties or keeps it close then everyone on this post should know they could have possibly played for a state title in 3A if they had been allowed. I would also believe that the Fire probably have one of the toughest strength of schedules of any team in the state.

  4. Who will win this battle of top programs?

I disagree with the H'ville plays down to their competition comment. If the pitch is in good shape Hendersonville wins this one. Though Brentwood feels comfortable they can go in and win I think this one will be more emotional for H'ville and they won't allow themselves to get beat. Their last game was in terrible field conditions and they played a man down for about 60 minutes but still pulled out the tie against district #1 Lavergne. Hendersonville also has no let down when their bench enters the game. Their bench has scored in almost every victory.

Brentwood has looked very good at times and shakey at times. I know they would like to knock off Hendersonville but don't expect them to do it this year.

  5. Final score - Clarksville 2 : Hendersonville 2

Clarksville was very strong up the middle and in their attack. Had Hendersonville off balance most of the night. Clarksville had more shots on goal and a lot more pressure inside the 18. Exciting game....very one-sided ref crew although it did not play into the final outcome other than some frustration by Hendersonville.

  6. I just noticed on CBHS website that CBHS and Hendersonville play on 3/20 at CBHS. Should be a great match and provide some interesting early season results.

Hendersonville has their work cut out for them. They follow up the Christian Brothers game with Memphis University School, Bearden, CAK, and Farragut.....WOW!

  7. How good will the teams for Memphis area be this year? For AAA Houston always has a top notch team but i know they lost a really good senior class. Also Christian Brothers? I see both teams reaching state again this year but just wondering if anyone else knows more about these teams

I agree. I don't know if it is too early but West TN seems a little under-represented on this board.

  8. i think everyone is under estimating station camp this year they lose their gaol keeper and have everyone else returning. and to take that goal keepers spot they have a freshmen that is coming in that looks pretty good and can hold down the spot.

I'm not underestimating Station Camp. I expect them to do very well. The goalie (Austin?) I have seen and although he is not all world like Jay, he is above average in his understanding of the position and also has good athletecism and quickness. Additionally the transfer from New Jersey (Billy) is an outstanding pick up for the team. I'm very impressed with his composure and read of the game. Station Camp should do very well.

  9. ok, im also positive that the game you are refering to is a scrimage that Hendersonville played and did not care at all the outcome of. Im sure if they tried, they would have won handily. That was the year Hendersonville lost on penalties in the state championship. so they wouldve tore station camp apart if they tried. And dont try to compare Hendersonville and Station Camp as a school because there is none.... lets face it.. Hendersonville will always be overly superior to the station camp underlings. As with the rest of Sumner county, no1 can compare to HHS. The student body has more love for this school than can be imagined.. so please dont try to compare. HHS is unmatched by any other.

I know this as fact... I am a former student of Hendersonville and Beech. At beech i had to transfer to HHS due to the well known superiority Hville has over everyone else. I had a great time there and wish i had more than 3 years.

You Hendersonville and Station Camp boys are giving both schools a bad name with these silly ramblings. All three of you grow up and realize the game is played on the field for a reason. Besides deep down I know you all love each other.....probably play on the same club team.

  10. I agree on HHS playing well if they stay off of here. But i cant remember if they even lost anyone? CAn anyone help with that? Also, LaVergne has never been a TOP team but they play with such heart and determination that they pull off some great things. I do know that they lost Austin Hayes who i thought was there best player but they still have Ali G. who is a very talented player. Does anyone know where Austin Hayes is now? is he playing anywhere?

As far as HHS I know they lost a strong goalie in Hayden Coffman (Trevecca), and Joseph Dallas (Union), a Josh, a Jared, and at least one other starter. I think they had a couple more seniors that got pretty good playing time. I knew Ali G was back hopefully he has some support as he can make some things happen.

  11. I don't have a dog in this hunt....and have no clue how good their HS will be this year or where they should be ranked, but I have seen a rise in the number of White House club teams in select Tournaments. Granted most of the teams I saw were in the younger age groups u-13 to u-16. So I can't say how good they will be this year, but the sport seems to be growing up there.

On a side note...I found their coaches and fans to be very passionate about their teams yet respectable toward their opponents. It's hard not to root for any White House team.

I would have to agree with that assesment. I have seen quite a few White House Storm clubs involved in select tournaments this past fall. I know they have gotten some good coaching involvement and seem to have a plan. That should ultimately bode well for the high school. Good luck where ever things end up White House.

  12. I have heard great things about Mark but (unless I just did not know who he was during select play) have never seen him play. Any teenager who has a great work ethic is ahead of the curve. That along with being a team player will help him at any level he chooses to work at trying to attain. I hope Carter does well enough to get to state this year where I might have the opportunity to see him play.

  13. I wouldn't necessarily use the term "dominating." I think historically Hendersonville plays a fairly tough schedule so they may struggle through the season. They always seem to get things together for the Disticts, though, and if they dominate, that is where it will begin. I would agree they have a good shot at state this year but they may have to get through Independence in order to do that. Both teams should be stacked pretty well. Brentwood, although they've lost a ton of talent, will still be a force and I wouldn't rule out a pretty decent Lavergne team either. If Hendersonville can stay healthy, they have the horses to win state but as we you saw last year....sometimes the better team doesn't always win.

Hendersonville should be strong if they don't pay attention to these boards and just go play the game. Possibly no superstars on this team but very deep with talented coachable players. I also like LaVergne again in this district they played with a lot of heart in the district tourney last year but just came up short. Hendersonville did lose a great group of seniors and I believe LaVergne lost their top scoring player.

  14. white house high school should be in top 20 and you have heritage to high

I mean absolutely no disrespect to the White House program but is this just supporting your school or is something really happening in White House that would improve the prospect for such a lofty ranking. I saw both teams play last year and thought WH Heritage was a strong team and I thought they were returning a lot of their starters. Has their been a defection to White House High from Heritage or something?

  15. even though the states best club team could probably beat the states best high school team doesnt take away from the pageantry of the high school game, playing in front of a crowd, getting recognition from the school, getting a ring, and just being talked about... like on coacht, no1 talkes about club, its all about high school...

It amazes me, no matter how good his club teams are, how much my son gets up for the high school soccer season. The rivalry, the challenge, his classmates that play, his classmates that attend games, and his high school coaching staff are all factors that seem to drive him to work harder. If his club team could harness that passion no telling how good they could be.

  16. Sorry you feel this way, and to mad dawg as well, but I am held accountable to One higher than anyone on these threads, and am prepared to take the bashing for something I believe is the right thing to do. I would be stupid to think that there would not be grief or these types of comments with our decision, so I went into this with open eyes. Think what you will. Bash us how you will, and say that we lost something. I have been bashed before and will be bashed again... as long as I am involved in coaching, there will be tough decisions that have to be made that will end up upsetting one side or the other no matter what.

In the end, the true colors will be shown. Will Brandon step up in the second chance that he has been given, and take his role to heart? I believe that he will. I know him better than most people, and know the kind of young man he can be. Whether or not he becomes that man, is his responsibility, but one that his team mates believe he is going to do, as well. My biggest responsibilty as a coach is NOT to win games. My job is to minister to these boys every chance that I get before they leave my program, so that when they leave my program, come out the other side as better men than they were when the entered. If you truly know me, as a lot of you don't, you will know where my heart really is in this decision.

I appreciate the honesty of some of the posts, though they are hard to read, it is a necessary thing to realize the perception of your actions. I pray that you will give us the opportunity to prove ourselves to you that you are wrong.

Amen to that BigG! If anyone is hypocritical enough to think they know someone elses situation they should stop being pretenders. The only judgement that ultimately matters is between Brandon and God. The old "What do you do when no one else is around" quote. I commend you and your team for taking the matter seriously and understanding that at 18 Brandon is still just a boy....and boys always need guidance and direction. You guys have also shown some compassion and as Christians that is one of the many things God expects from us.

  17. It should be some great soccer! Frankly I think Brentwood, Houston, and Hendersonville are down a little as well but Gallatin has not looked good when they have played the better competetion. I haven't seen Collierville or Father Ryan this year so I'm not sure about their teams but they have been historically strong and seem to be doing pretty well this season.
