  1. MrNoitAll, last year didn't you do a day to day prediction? I miss that. I understand that we are all busy, but I really enjoyed that.
  2. In general, it does seem that the 7AAA teams are more equal this year. I think I have only seen a couple of games posted where there was a wide margin in scoring. So, far our games have been very close, however I realize we have not been to M'boro to play a couple of the higher ranked teams. We need to go into these games with as much confidence as possible. When our complete game is on, we look really good! We don't see any team in our district as an easy win and I think that is great. That tells me that the softball programs in our district are growing. In a perfect world all teams would be competitive and on any given night either team could win. Let's hope we see this state-wide one day. No powerhouse teams that stomp through their district every year - ah! that would be nice. This responsibilitie lies within the teams themselves - to step it up to the next level. It takes hard work and dedication from the school administration, coaches, players and parents - it can be done!
  3. Actually, we are 4 and 3 overall & 2 and 2 in the district, so far! We have 2 more district games this week, the Lord willing.
  4. LOL! Ya'll have a great team, just don't take it for granted that any team is an easy win. Sometimes that works against you - been there, done that! Your teams hard work and dedication will pay off and I can't wait to hear how your games turn out, make sure you post them!
  5. I enjoy reading the various posts on various subjects. I just think it is funny how some posts don't get much of a response and others, like this one, have four pages. I don't know any of ya'll and was trying to figure out the common denominator as to what led to so many responses on this one. I admit when I first saw the post I really felt sorry of the losing team and had to find out how it came about, now that I know that the coach did not run the score up on purpose, I am over it. However, it seems like some people on here are against CCHS, so that leads me to believe these are people that play in the same district as CCHS and it is a competitive thing with maybe a little history behind it. Am I right?
  6. I bet you never dreamed your short post about this game would get so much attention. Are most of the other people posting on this subject from other teams you play in your district? I can't understand so many negative comments about your post. Yes, maybe the way you worded it did come across as "bragging", but should we get into the same discussion as the people that complained about MrNoItAll using the word "loser"? You said what you said because you were excited about the game, that's all. Everyone needs to move on to encouraging all of the teams and players!
  7. I talked with one of the players this afternoon and she certainly wasn't bragging on the win. She was very humble about the whole thing and told me that the coach was concerned for the other team the whole game. I was told that some of the JV did go in to bat for the varsity (I think I understood that correctly). I felt a lot better about the whole thing after I talked to her. It sounds to me like the coach did the best job he could do in this situation. I think the CC team and parents are just excited because they are off to a good start. I really don't think anyone is bragging, I think it is just the love of the game and their team and the fact that their hard work is paying off. I hope they continue to do well.
  8. Did someone get injured at the game or am I misunderstanding this quote? I hate to hear of injuries. Recently I have heard of a girl getting hit in the face, and a pitcher that got her hand broken by a line drive. I can't remember the teams, but does anyone know how these girls are doing?
  9. Like I said, I wasn't there and I am not really familiar with either team. I just hate it for the other team, unless you have been in that situation, you don't know how it feels. I understand with all of the rainouts that varsity needs as much play time as possible. I also understand that sometimes these lop-sided scores cannot be helped. I just don't like to see any team be humiliated, but it is not CCHS fault that this team does not have as solid of a program. I am not criticizing, just wondering how it was played.
  10. So, at what point did CCHS put their younger girls in and let them play? Surely, someone realized before this game ever started that there would be a dominant team in this match-up and they didn't start 9 varsity players. Not that it is any of my business. I am glad that CCHS has such a talented, hard-working, well-coached team, but all schools are not that blessed. I hope CCHS does well this season, they deserve it. But show some mercy along the way! I wasn't there and didn't see how this game was played, hopefully someone will tell me CC was playing there younger girls/JV and they did all they cold not to run up the score. Good luck this season CC, I honestly want to see you win your district!
  11. Ok, you two. W.W.J.D.! ha! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  12. I understand your feelings. Over the years I have been there from time to time and have had to fight the urge to "tell somebody off." No one likes to see their kids being treated unfairly. My only "words of wisdom" (ha!) would be to remember 2 things. 1. The coach is only human and subjected to emotional highs and lows like the rest of us. 2 Even when our kids are being treated unfairly, it is a life lesson, because we all know that life is not fair and they will be faced with these frustrations the rest of their lives. So, we will never find a perfect coach, some may appear to be, but they all have their flaws, just like we do. For the love of the game, we have to grin and bear it and above all support our kids at all times.
  13. Yes, they look good! We had a young team last year and hope the girls can get it all together this year.
  14. We have played ya'll twice and you beat us both times, so I would have to say your team looks good. It seems the other day you had several freshmen starting, is that right? The first time we played you our team couldn't hit the ball, the other day we had 5+ errors and several missed plays. Your team seemed to look good on offense and defense both games. I say both teams battled hard and didn't give up. Not taking anything away from your team, but our errors killed us. I hope that ya'll do well because it is obvious your team is working hard! Good luck!
  15. Do you have a list of the participating teams and the pool play schedule?
  16. I agree with you 100%! Thanks for the positive outlook and scripture reference. It is always good to keep things in perspective.

    Pitching

That right! People that don't follow the rules in all areas of life really get on my nerves. Why start our young people out this way - trying to see what they can get away with and not get caught. Great life lesson!!
  18. I don't know as much as you, but I agree with you - see my first posting above.
  19. That makes sense! So, I guess it is each coaches responsibility to make sure his/her pitchers are pitching within the guidelines. Whew!!! These coaches and umpires have their hands full, but I guess that is what they love about their job. It takes a special person to be a coach or an umpire.
  20. I know what you mean. This season has been pretty unlucky as far as weekend ball is concerned. I sure hope for everyone's sake that somehow the forecast will be wrong. The girls want to play, the parents want to watch, the coaches can't wait to get their team out there and I imagine this team needs this fundraiser! Oh, and I am sure the umpires would miss the excitement also.
  21. Ha! Ya'll are so funny! I didn't think about him being gone on Spring Break - thanks Fishhunt. School will be back in Monday for most schools, maybe he will be back then. He should be glad to know that he was missed. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  22. Sometimes it's not about hitting or not hitting. It is about the aggrevating fact that some people try to push the envelope on rules. What is that teaching our kids? It's okay to break the rules as long as you can get away with it?
  23. What a nightmare! Let's hope that doesn't happen. I know the organizers of this tournament are sweating it out right now and probably watching the weather forecast very closely. I feel for them at this time. So much work is put into these things behind the scenes and it is awful to know that it can all be "washed out" and there is nothing they can do about it. Good luck to the tournament organizers! Remember the old poem we used to say as kids, "Rain, rain go away . . . these girls want to get out and play!!!" ha! ha! "Let the sun shine!"
