well it has been an interesting first half based on what has happened so far i have updated my predictions from what i have seen so far and not based on preseason hype #1 riverdale comes to play everyday every inning #2 blackmon solid #3 lebanon took didnt come to play tonight against cookeville #4 &5 cookeville and oakland cookeville has the easier schedule so give then nod at 4 both could end up 8-6 or7-7 #6 siegel put a good game together tonight against riverdale so is preseason hype about to kick in 7# white county could easily make some noise in tournament,win tonight against oakland tonight couldgive some confidence going into tournament by finally winning a close one and not losing it as in past #8 poor warren county might squeak out 1 district win but dont count on it

yell you know he talks a good game in meetings and when he is away from cookeville and is the life of the party that keeps everybody rolling. also a good teacher, and is respected by alot of people who have never had hands on viewing of him running his program and some of the things he does to attempt to get rid of kids in his program then you would probaly be in the 70+% of the people in cookeville that wishes he would stick to teaching in the class room and leave the coaching to some one else say like his assistant mike

if you will reread it you will see i said e davis or espinosa who ever had hot bat defense is about the same but espinosa has handed it acceptably. yell i know about jebs back and yes he has played outfield so i do know the whole story but i said also tubbs should get the nod. and yes they are getting j davis's bat in there which is needed, and wise has hit the ball a little better lately but behind the plate give me davis any day of the week. wise cant catch the high fast balls or make a throw to first on a dropped third strike plus davis blocks better. and i am glad to see the coach changing up the lineup looking for someone to step up. but as far as both bats being in lineup if wise continues to hit okay. but the main reason davis is inthere some where is because the coach knows he deserves to be there and wise cant be hid anywhere else. so does this make us a stronger team no. but davis behind the plate and bush in the outfield and we are better defensivly and offensivly.

yell i picked you guys winning 4 games in your district but right now i am wondering if you will win any in the district

who's going to get nod at third since our starter is out, didnt see anything i liked in the 3 games we played friday. who is going to step up.

we did hit the ball a little better than we have been. judah hit a jack over the center field wall , our catcher who normally cant hit himself out of a wet paper sack had a triple and a homerun. and oakland did help us with i think it was 7 errors that always came back and bit them

after tomorrow games might have to rethink my prediction i guess i bought into all the siegel preseason hype.

i dont think we are disputing bo being and excellent player we are just saying if played the players who should have been on the field we would have had a better shot at going to the state

well you could hire him to coach your summer league team

if he coached like he taught in the class room i really dont think anybody would have a problem because he does a really good job. and we hear he is the life of the partyin most meeting quick witted and fun to be around. but if you were around to watch his coaching up close and personal you would have a different view. yell he won the district last year but had if played the best 9 he had a good shot at state. how he treats some kids like they are gods gift to baseball and others like you ought to thank me that your here attitude is what ticks most people off around here. when a person who doesnt have a kid in the program can see he doesnt have the best boys on the field or he tries to appease a player by giving him some mound time when he is way better catcher than the catcher he is starting and can can hit probaly 250 points higher than the starter. he deserves all the critism he gets. he must welcome it. ask any of us non parent fans that go to the games. and as far as previous coaches the one before chaffin i would love for him to still be here, because he didnt put some one on the team "money people" get involved and he leaves not wanting to be at a program he has to take people who dont deserve to be there. chaffin takes a lot of people on the team the more the more money is raised is his motto. and i still say we had the talent not only to win last years regular season and the district tournament and beat lincoln county in region and move on to the sub state. and yes it goes back to coaching. yell all coaches looks at and does thimgs a little differently but i cant think of a coach that would have stuck with our catcher and ss last year with so much on the line and so much talent on the bench

and the sad part is he deserves every bit of it and more

watching the riverdale game tonight just dont know how i feel about it. it is nice to see our infield play. didnt cringe any when a ball was hit in the infield. outfield playing pretty well. only weak spot i saw tonight was dh bat and catcher bat. bat looked extremely slow on both. catcher played a little better defensively except for dropping a pop up. luckily it doesnt causee any more damage. hey riverdaleman score keeper how did you score our 3 hole hitters first 2 at bats. also when cookeville coach confined to dugout who was the kid that coached first why did coach t not come off his bucket. if it had of been cold i would have thought it was a heated seat. boys keep hitting lets just get nine hitters in line up instead of 7

well whats your thought after first week any adjutments to anybodys thoughts come on white county and warren county havent heard from you

look i am playing arm chair coach. and with the past actions of this coach he seems to have a habit of playing about 7 out of nine best, so far this year it has been a pleasant surprise. lets take last yr for example just 2 for instances, we are playing siegel at their place when catcher throws ball into right field and siegel wins the game. yes we make errors but if we would have had the correct catcher(reeder) behind the plate this never would have happened. we had options at 3rd. 2nd example ss made numerous errors every game we cringed when ball was hit that way, cost us gameat lincoln co. plenty options at ss last year. as far as the 200 wins congradulations but cookeville has the talent to compete with the murfreeboros. if we put the best nine in the right spot as a coach should do. now this yr our cf if playing good ball right now however for 2 yrs we tried to make him an ss and it was a comedy of errors which cost us games. as far as giving coach the benefit of the doubt when he shows he deserves it i will but for now he can get that from his ten friends. again i hope the cavs go all the way and through games today i think he has done a better job. i know fans its early we just hope he makes the necessary changes as changes are needed. because yes i think we have the talent but lets not waste it for example like putting a player like bf from last yr in the out field instead of on short or third or leaving him in the dugout. great kid who never complained just goes out everyday and plays the game like it should be as your motto says hard 90 so i guess us armchair coaches wouldnt post on here if he coached hard 90. ask some of the players and they will tell you winning the district was one thing will never forget even the ones who played minimal. yell they want to play but they know who should be on the field because they want that feeling again and again they dont want to wait til next yr when we are not in as strong of a district that we should dominate they want it now. put the best nine out there and win with the nine best not the seven best all year long. and then i can put my pen to rest. this should be some of the best times of their lives playing a game and knowing we all went hard 90 so coach hard 90 and 10, 29 years now they can be proud to introduce their kids to their high school baseball coach, because it was about the game and putting something into their lives and not about the coach or coaches

only thing i think i would do different here is switch left and right field based on arm strength. however i would say i was pleasantly surprised with 3rd base starter. lets keep rolling

well starting lineup for first game a pleasant surprise except for catcher. sophmore cather dh'ed but should have been behind the plate no comparison between the 2. i guess they could have dh'ed the junior catcher but oh yell you have to be able to hit
