To my understanding Mr Nunley never said the game was lost because of the lack of Wilcher, it was just a major factor.....and i do believe Wilcher not playing had an impact. the DID miss his 4-5 yards per carry. if he'd been out there it would have freed Northcutt and Hutchings up for the outside game rather than having to bang it in between the tackles with the bigs.......as far as the season goes, this is just one game....lets hope these guys view this as an eye-opener rather than and end game....this team has talent and can still make some noise in the standings this season. its up to us as a community to stay behind these guys and not allow them to hang their heads over one game!

Off the top of my head I can think of only two coaches in the system that have children playing, and in my opinion those kids would be playing anyways...doesn't matter that their father is on staff. but that is just my opinion. take it for what its worth

Seven days to long to go without seeing some football? if so the Warren County Middle School as their season opener next tuesday (26th) at 6:30 here at home vs Franklin North!

I've been hearing from, various sources, that Dekalb has a stand out QB this year...still our D looks to be very athletic this year so we should have what it takes to shut down the pass attack....i hear he threw for 250+ in a half at a jamboree the other night...any truth to that?

well i believe the tail gate was a huge success, it was good to see so much pioneer pride! thanks nitro for the food, good stuff man! its going to be a great year for the pioneers!

football.........food..........fun..........hmm sounds like my kind of place! you know i'll be there!!!!

Didn't get there til around 7 so i missed most of it. but what i gathered from talking with the coaches and players is that we looked sharpe....offense moved the ball well and the D really showed up....i think this was a huge day for this squad following a less than steller performance earlier in the week. this may be the turning point for these kids to flip the switch and make this one heck of a season......... .............dont forget the middle school squad is playing in a jamboree this evening at upperman high school. they'll be going up against Gordonsville, Dekalb, Macon Co, and Cornerstone. they'll start around 2:30

i believe the scrimmage with moor county starts at 5:30 on friday.....the middle school is traveling to woodbury today for a scrimmage at 6:30.

big week for warren county football on all levels.....high school has two scrimmages at oakland and at home...middle school at woodbury and baxter

I think the Pioneers have a chance to do some damage this year. looking at them during practice, they are above and beyond Pioneer teams in the past. the additions to the coaching staff will help. i have spoken personally with coach Young and I believe he is VERY knowledgable when it comes to this sport. I believe all of the guys made it up the mountain, i even heard some of the middle school players may have completed the course as well!...as for the OWLS comments, lets try and keep those to a minimum ha ha
