    ALL State

Heard they voted on all state last night...anybody know the results??
  2. gitusome

    all-star game

    Good question......does anyone know??
  3. I know that Carson Newman and Northwestern has benn making some offers to him.as well as about 8 other II and III schools...I think there are two more sceduled to come this week..Lambuth and Valdosta State...who knows I would like to see him stay close and watch him play...maybe you and him can get on the same team one day..man that would be a coach's dream....
  4. I think this thread was about Everson....then you go and trash some other running backs...for you see my man...you talk about what Hill done for his team...and you are probably right no one is arguing that....our hat is off to Mr. Hill....but as far as Cothran not being your so called best back that Lewis County has seen let me sorta tell you about him..since you are talking helping thier team and accomplishments...Cothran rushed for almost 2100 yards...help carry his team to the second round playoffs further than any other Fairview team...scored 212 out of the teams 310 points scored this year..played omly two quarters of four games...had over 70 tackles on defense...3 interceptions and two passes for tds.......was the go to guy in the playoffs and scored every point in the playoffs..lets not forget that he handled the punting duties as well..which he averaged about 45 yards per punt...maitains a 4.0 his senior yesr with a 3.6 gpa overall...so yes people will argue when you bring up the point that what the Trophy is meaning ful overall...I think that Cothran congradulated Hill..and I do as well...I just don't think taht this thing was done for overall what a player has done..I think the west Tenn, news papers rule ....but thats my thought......again congrads to Hill..good luck in the future..as for Everson ..the best QB in the state...bring home the real trophy...you know the one that is won by playing in front of everyone....
  5. Man I would have swore that Aaron Cothran from Fairview would have been on this list..5'11 190....2400 yards rushing...which led the state...28 TDs...and over 70 tackles on defense..but then again from a small school that hasn't won a state title...could that be the reason??
  6. There were so many off based picks it wasn't even funny. The sporstwriters that has never played the game sure has embarrassed some of these fine atheletes...I strongly felt that Everson from Brentwood......Cothran from Fairview which led the whole state in rushing and Bliss from BA who can kick NFL field goals...lol..but the cards have been delt too bad they had the wrong ones up there sleeves....
  7. Congradulations Aaron for making us proud......you set a goal this summer and made it happen. You get to carry all the school records with you this year as well as making the National Honor Society.Good things will always happen to the one that strive to be the best.Still hadn't figured out how the results works but in our books you are and will always be the best... Congradulations to D.Springs for being nominated and to R. Hill for getting the trophy,I hope the best for all you young men and to all the other guys that were present. Remember........when you all get the chance..help out someone younger for one day they to can get the chance to show their skills......be safe to all..and good luck From the Fairview Yellowjackets....
  8. I agree that all three are in line for the MR.FOOTBALL trophy. But sense you are talking stats maybe I can give you some insight on Cothran. Not only did he lead the whole state in rushing in all classes..he as well has some pretty good numbers in the weight room.He is running the forty in just under 4.6...at 5'11 he is a solid 190 pounds.squats oevr 450..power cleans 280..benches 330..and has ended up with 2424 yards rushing for the year.He helped the Jackets go further than any Fairview has ever gone in the playoffs. In the two playoff games he had almost four hundred yards in rushing...scored all the points in both games. He seem to always find a way in the end zone.He had over 90 tackles on defense with three interceptions one ran back as a TD.He threw a couple of Tds as well.He scored over two hundred points this year total with the team.He also handled the punting duties and had an average of over 43 yards per punt..not bad considering he carried the ball 373 times.....strong legs for sure.....to round it off with a 3.5 GPA going into the year and currently holding a 4.0 this senior year... that is what is important no matter what happens....... With all this being said...our hats should go off to the offensive line who helped these guys get to where they all are today...so to the unsong heroes on the 0 line...we all salute you guys...on each team.....
  9. Aaron Cothran from Fairview....led the state in rushing all year.Help the Jackets go 2round in the playoffs.....excellant LB as well....good luck to all..
  10. Talk about Huntingdon and Fairview ran the ball down their throat.......don't even try to compare.....Faiview and Lewis just got beat by pure luck.As I sit hear and read these silly post about how strong the Rebels are makes me laugh....Like the ole saying goes I would rather be lucky than good......in Football though it is just the oppisite for being good and stronger goes is a lot better...a blowout is coming and get ready for it for lady luck had and will run out.....Yes both of our teams are home..the rebels won but they are about to get embarrassed...in a big way and that is a shame...for the young guys will take it to heart when they get smashed.......Region 5 is better face it......and live with it...........

    189

Aaron Cothran seems to have moved up to 189......look for him to have a very good year....should be ranked in the top three...no doubt!!!!!
  12. Aaron Cothran should get this if there is any justice...I know that Springs is tough and so is the other. But Aaron not only broke the Midstate rushing record...he never came off the field....He ended up with 2424 yards....29 TDs...throwed three td passess...caught sevarell. He had a dozen 2 point conv..played LB and tallied over 90 tackles, had three interceptions one for a td.....he also caughta sackfull of passess for yards that has not been counted for..some of the best hands in the state. He handled the punting duties as well and had about a 45 yard per average kick......now keep all this in mind as he sports a 3.5 GPA.....might be some pretty tough shoes to fill. but good luck to all.....GO Aaron Cothran........
  13. 22 had 101 yards in the first half.....86 in the second half....The rebels did fumble in the redzone but the Jackets stopped them in their tracks the other time...Faiview was in the redzone several times as well...Remember the punt that came off the Jacket player..that was where you guys scored....that was in the fourth with 6:45 left...I thought by Fairviews mistake there was the swing of the game.As far as stopping 22 when in overtime you knew he was getting the ball and the first run was down to the 3..so no!!!you didn't stopp him..when he threw the ball for the TD..you knew he was getting it..no!!!you didn't stop himon the two point conversion the QB never had control to hand the ball off...and I don't think you would have stopped him then either.... But you won the game.....you are advancing on to the next round..the only thing is that Lewis County has the best QB in the Region...a fast Tailback and a big big Full back...There big man on the line is bigger and faster than yalls big man.I am not taking anything away from the Rebels for your QB did show heart and stayed in the pocket and he won the game for you...... Now the only thing I see and with all respect is that Lewis County has too many weapons and the game won't be close...remember me saying this ...They should win by at least 3 TDs.......sorry we are out but make the most of the night for it should be your last...good luck!!
  14. Seems to be a lot of threads about other all county teams....who should be on the Williamson County Team???
  15. Lewis will win...guaranteed....Ole big boy that plays the line for the Panthers is much more quicker and agile than the guy from Mnkenzie....David Sharp will be the key for the rebels can't out run him...Lewis 28 Mckenzie 7
  16. I have enjoyed watching you guys when you played Fairview,,you a great bunch of atheletes...congradulations on your senior year and good luck Friday....make our Region proud.......GO JACKETS........GO LEWIS COUNTY!!!!!!!
  17. Hey Wes you have been pretty much on the money on your picks this year.....so how about a run at the MR.Football winners for each class...need your expertise here...
  18. Any guessess on 2A???????just curious to see how peolple think that will swing since all that is up for it is out of the playoffs...
  19. I don't think any all Rgion teams have been made that I am aware of...

Don't you have a website like last year...if so can you give it to us..it was great...can't seem to find it..
  21. Cothran from Fairview might be in the 189......he seems to around 182 now but has nothing to cut....rock hard,
  22. Hey Coach..we need your help on this...
  23. maybe Coach T can help on this one...
  24. I have been around the game for many years.Faiview whipped the rebels all night. They couldn't stop 22 even when they knew he was getting the ball.Lewis has the edge in Sharp...he can throw and run....Mckenzie is too weak outside and too slow for Sharp out off the pocket will give Lewis the edge. They are simple on the run...they run the I as well as the stack I....Out of the stack I the tailback follows the 2 back everytime..when they pass..they send trips...two down and one in the middle.Fairview slipped up and let the man in the middle get open..that's how they scored in OT.Sahrp is a much better punter and I don't see him punting much for Lewis has a balanced running game with three good runners counting Sharp....the game will end by Lewis winning by 3 or more TDS.....
  25. While driving home after watching a good game a couple of Mckenzie fans called in...they must have know football for they congradulated Fairview on a good night..One caller said that without lady luck being on their side The rebels would not have won. They said on a dry night that Fairviews #22 would have had 300 yards...they also said that Faiview dominated the game all night and if hadn't been for the punt hitting one our players it would have been a sad night in Mckenzie..they must have seen the same game I did.For that is what happened.....yes we are out of it...but it will end next week for the rebels for sure.....good luck to all..........
