Even though Cumberland University had a rough year..and lost 4 games by 15 points they had some great athletes...Tyler McChurch made first team All Confrence at linbacker,,,,Aaron Cothran made Second Team All Confrence as a linebacker..and as a Punter....Chuck Jones also made Second Team All Confrence as well....Hats off to these fine men,,,yall made us proud....

Good post .....The Franklin kid will win if he is in good shape.I hadn't seen either kid wrestle but in the past Merideth got wek at the end of matches....

I am a fan of Fairview and my son helped win there a couple years ago(#22) and now plays together at Cumberland with J Truitt, they even roomed together the first year..lol....don't have a horse running in this race but Huntingdon will easily pull this one off. They should win a couple in a row then things will get rough for all teams. I have since met and talked with several fans of the Mustang area and they have always been super nice.So good luck to the Mustangs till they meet the Jackets hopefully..

Aaron Cothran class of 2003 is starting FB at Cumberland along with Garrett Hall class of 2000 which starts at RT and Big Joe Hudgins is in Iwoa I believe....... Fairview 17 Cheatam 7

I was at the game and it was a good one . I predictated 24 to 7.... could have had it right but we had a field goal blocked. Fairview got off to a slow start then after the 1st quarter they never looked back,22 for Lewis County is a great athlete but the Jackets have about 6 or 7 players that played well. Good luck to both teams the rest of the year and now I believe that the Jackets travel to Loretto and now I will try this game, Fairview 28 Loretto 14...only because of the homecooking........good luck to the Jackets!!! Just wonder how long it will take for CBarkley to come up with a new name and get back on!!!!...lol.. :justwrestle:

I like the facts you mentioned Cb...but you do remember that Westmoreland gave Lewis a pretty good whipping by the score of 23 to 8...and Fairview beat Westmoreland 27 to 20....but on a Fridaynight anything can happen...good luck to yall on your bet....but I still see Fairview coming out ahead..good luck to both teams! thumb

I love to see a good bet,I am glad you guys accepted and are willing to put it on the line. Let me also add that Cbarkley has his right to say that Lewis will beat Fairview.So everyone on here should respect that. But I am proud that GeeryB still supports his AlmaMater,he was a great athlete and the most important made good grades in school.And if he wants to play sports on campus thats even better, even though he is good enough to be on any team.(Baseball or Football).The only thing that concerns me is that some players and former players should stand behind him on this one and any other issue for that is what makes a team strong.Lewis County is known for thier support and that is an advantage.But I watch the Jackets each week and they starting to gel and now have an attitude for winning and they have got to keep this attitude up.GerryB was on the team a couple years ago that started this tradition and now the Future thumb Jackets have to continue. I know that Coach Sharp will be ready for the Jackets and will have a game plan.I haven't got to see Lewis County play this year but I am sure losing David Sharp is a blow,he was a great athlete.But Fairview this year has too many weapons,you have Martin that is now learning to hit the holes quick and is getting respect from every team,you have Bogle at QB that is just as quick and is very dangerous outside the pocket,Frazier is back and might be the fastest runner on both teams,and a big 0 line that is carrying out their bolcking assignments.The defense in Blake Sullivan and Cole Cassidy plays a big part.I almost forgot about the FG Kicker that is only a sophomore that should be a D1 prospect...man what a foot on a kid. Now after that is all said good luck to Fairview and Lewis County,I know it will be a good game and I will make trip as well cause it should be a smashmouth game..... Fairview still should come out on top!!!! thumb

Coach Moore is a fine man.,,is Cumberland got any good running backs this years and how are they at QB...

I do know that they let one heck of a coach go in Moore.....he was old school but he went battle each game,Coach Corbitt was the choice but remember they lost Coach Elrod and Pigue as well....what a waste.The new weight Coach Losey is a great guy as well.There were a lot of great Coaches out there with winning programs they probably overlooked.This Coach is showing disipline which was needed but he will have his work cut out.Coach Moore and company built this team to run the Wing-T....going to take some time for adjustments.....just hope the new Coach will run 3 yards and a cloud of dust....National Title in 3 years??????hmmmm......I hope so since I will be at all games....

Why the big change...seems to me he had things going his way. My son had great respect for him and David respeted my son as well......just was wondering why he dropped out and now is at home?..I loved watching Lewis and Fairview play smashmouth football.....was some great games to me...even though we didn't win...lol.....I really hope David plays some where......who ever gets him will be getting one tough hombre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey yellowjacket 21, trying to figure out who you are since I make you so sick......lol...I have supported the program for years....I DID not say anything bad about England..he is a good one.....what I was saying was that Clint Bogle....excuse me for the spelling of his name is a better scrambler...and if don't don't agree you don't know much about the game.Fairview strongest game is their running game and that's a fact.Since Mangurm is leaving they lose the best hands they had.Not saying someone else will step up and take his place.So quit your wimpering and step to the plate for Clint....he is going to need some support but he will do just fine.With his ability to scramble and with Bobby and Glen....it will be an exciting year........

Nope the QB should be Clint Vogel........he was the backup last year and probably should have started....he has and accurate arm and he can scramble as well.The two wings or whatever they will run this year should be Martin and Frazier.. They have two great FB as well........one is a Soph next year.Fairview will be in the mix after beating Cheatham County last year....It should come down between Fairview and Lewis County.....going to be interesting........but like I said earlier they have a kicker that will be a Soph........and he can KICK!!!!!..something they have been needing for several years......

You have a good thought going on.......Fraser from Fairview is a great back.......but you are forgetting Bobby Martin which should be the real deal as a Senior........The QB position will be better than it has ever been,the kid can throw and scarmble, and they have a great kicker for the first time in 20 years......lol...The new Coach which is Coach Mac brings his skills to the line and Coach King will be the offensive wizard again.They have at least three linemen over 6'2 and 280 to 300 lbs.......should be and interesting year.

I was hoping you all would stay with the question........Coach Tommy Rewis is a great coach.....I am sure Fairview will miss him....just wondering what type of talent does Heritage have coming back????.....I promise you one thing...the team will be stronger in the weight room ...that's for sure. He believes in hard work and I am sure it will reflect on the players.Good luck to ya Coach!!!!

First of all the parents found and hired him.....If Welder is that good which I am not saying he is not...if he has been around the Nationals and Hall of Fame or whatever....why couldn't he have kept up with the cautions..(or score)....and still why was it in Coach Hill's best interest by not being in the corner....Bond is a great wrestler..but not best in the country....

So why would it be in his best interest??????not to be in the corner.....reckon the parent of the one wrestling had anything to do with it???...and then you say he stepped up by staying on as an assistant,,??????why would he have to step up if he was the head coach?.....come on..give us a break....he was railroaded...plain and simple.He was coaching and stepped on some toes!The Principle is like all others..they go with the flow instead of backing their coaches.

Sorry...it is KARMA...lol....my bad.....I don't think the coaches chose the roles...the parents laid them out!!!!!....I reckon programs like Soddy Daisy and other big programs recommend their head coach to step down to school the small ones....come on everyone knows what happened....just ain't right!....enough said!

Building a team from middle schools is no doubt the best way keep a program strong.But show me where it is typical for a head coach to just simply step down..don't think so..Jon Hill is a fine man and a great coach..and was done wrong by some parents at Franklin...if you want to ignore that or the parents that sorta got the shuffle started don't want to admit it thats fine as well...But there is not a head coach on this board that has simply step downed as head coach just for the reason of rebuilding....CARMA is what happened.....bottom line!

So you are saying that a head coach that left one school...took over a program at another to be the head coach.....builds a winning program...thens steps down to coach the JV...lol...somewhere there is a little smoke being blowed!
