  1. LEAN??? I would say starving! The end of this year season will erradicate a lot of the problem though. Just watch and see what happens when some of the cougar cubs "pride" rolls on away to try to dominate their next den. They have had 4 years to make a name for themselves. hmmmmmm.....I can't seem to find those names anywhere. Maybe a Nelson ate them. Good luck Drew, you are the only hope, stay injury free. Even though you are where you are, your efforts shine. Some of us actually read the stats.
  2. Where did the Cougars that GUARANTEED a win last week disappear to??? Can you give us prediction on the "Nelson Bowl"? Meow
  3. Where were the Cougars Friday night?
  4. Please tell me why you are be so confident about the game tonight? Have you looked at Central's season? Or even the last several seasons? They have shown nothing to give any indication that they can beat the Vikes and if they do win it will be a FLUKE THING. Hey though, anything can happen on a Friday night. By the way though, Advil won't heal a heart attack. Ya'll may need some TUMS though.
  5. Let the Vikes have the goal posts! The Cougars really have no use for them.
  6. You really are a foul mouthed, no fun to play with child. That is too bad for you....take your lumps and good luck to you. Go back to your nest in JC and we won't miss you. It would be nice to conversate with folks from those hills over there, but by the looks of it you probably should keep to yourself because all we hear from you over hear in the RATIONAL world is..... blah, ba, blah, ba blah. If anyone over there has some common sense please speak up. Longhorns51...UGGGHHHH....this poster is doing you NO JUSTICE. Please, defend yourselves.
  7. Don't get so cocky Mister.....lol...you have your work cut out for you tonight. You can sleep through next week but you better take a look at the cards on the table tonight. Eeeek....not pretty.
  8. I hope that no one here has misunderstood what I was trying to convey about Coach Krantz. I don't hold him responsible for what is still going on with that football team. I like him as a person and a baseball coach. I did say that he disassociated himself from the football coaching staff. He is a baseball coach and never really needed to be part of the football staff anyway. Thanks go to him though for putting the time in for football that he did.
  9. I DO NOT believe Coach Krantz/AD is the problem here. If you look at things on a whole he has disassociated himself from football at Central this year. He used to help coach, you don't find him doing that any more. Smart move for him, I believe he knew what was about to go down. It is a shame that he will be referred to as the leader of this athletic department, but anyone that has been around a while knows he had nothing to do with hiring the coaches in place now, he got dealt an unplayable hand.
  10. The parents contributed in a huge way to Coach Nelson being hired (they had their own agenda), once he got in the position and couldn't wave a magic wand to turn the team around they have turned on him. They did not have the foresight to see that he could not be the saviour of this program. He is in 2 positions he does not need to be in. Head coach and scapegoat. Here is my core belief on this.....Mr. Nelson is a good man, he should have never been placed as a head coach of a program that was already suffering profusely. Give him a middle school team (without parental dictatorship), he may thrive. Central parents need to muffle their complaints and stink up to the fact that we have been a major factor in creating this debacle.
  11. They need to do their hiring from more than just a last name....that is just ridiculous. But take alook back to when they wanted Coach Hooks head on a platter. Their record wasn't much better. I am not saying I agreed with how they ousted him. But some of those same parents looking for Nelson's neck were responsible for seeing he got the axe. Well, there you go parents....maybe you provided the bad karma that has kept this program down 2 and a half more years. Let someone else do the hiring, of course your little boys will likely be gone next year and you won't have a dog in that race anymore. But my, haven't you set up an ugly scanrio for the up and coming ones.
  12. No guts are requied to annialate this program, just good common sense and objectivity. I admire you for putting your neck on the line tomorrow night. I believe you are a good kid (by the way, I know who you are, I'm not picking on players like you, you are a victim of the problems here). I do hope we come out with a win.....I am not optimistic though.
  13. You took my replay in the wrong way. I DON'T have any answers for the ugliness up there. I DO NOT defend it, I am ashamed to even have to be affiliated with it. I am more on your side than you think. Yes, the Cougars are pitiful...have been for some time now. Coach Krantz did NOT hire Coach Nelson though. Coach Nelson was NOT the best choice for the position. I don't think he was ready to take on such a disfunctional program. Key parents wanted a "Nelson". They got it. Until those parents that try to control football move on it will not change. . If you were a middle school football player for Holston or Blountville what is your motiviation to work real hard for Central knowing you are going to get your butts whipped every Friday night?
  14. He is in the same political B/S the entire school is in. He is a great baseball caoch so leave that alone, but he has been dealt an unkind hand. Why do you think he disassociated himself with football? Coach Krantz is in a bad prediciment. He would have been better off to pass on the AD position and focus on his baseball team. I admire him for taking on a task though. It is guaranteed to bring him more headaches than pleasure. I definitely don't want to see him sink with the ship.
  15. A big AMEN to you sixtonjoseph. But I do hope you are kidding about them passing around petitions again at Friday night football games. I haven't seen one yet but I wouldnt be surprised. I recall seeing that a few years back when they crucified Coach Hooks (unjustifiably so). Those parents don't realize their son's lack of work/workout ethic. They take them home on Friday night, feed their ego, tell them they are doing fine and it is eveyone elses fault they lost, and in reality they are slacking. I feel bad for the entire program, I know there are good players there that are stuck in a situation they can't get out of. The senior players have ONE win under their belt so far in ALL OF high school. I believe it came from a field goal from our kicker who is not getting to show his talent on the team he is playing for. I am not defending the coaches, I think they hold a huge responsibility in this situation, but the coaches here at Central were not picked for their winning record or any coaching ability, they were picked primarily out of parental input and control over the entire "Cougar Empire"(cough). They may be fine coaches in a different setting, but until they get out from under being influenced by the Booster Club or Football Mommy and Daddy's they are going to continue looking inept for a very long and painful time. I agree, give the coaches a couple of years to settle. Word of advice to coaches though....Do not make decisions to satisfy a parent's whims. Those are the same parents that are CRUCIFYING you Friday night in the bleachers. Been there, heard it.
