fluke? defense puttin up a shut out and Hamby with a 150 rushing yards doesn't sound to much like a fluke to me. in fact, coalfields biggest gain in yards all night was a fumbled interception wartburg had. haha

i thought so. lol and monterey was not a bad team by any means. we'll see what happens this friday with midway. some say non-region games dont matter but with the new wild card every game matters.

hmm.... tradition? arent we beating coalfield in the wartburg vs. coalfield tradition? you can shut up now and go back to your coalfield thread. or is there not one? well anyways good news about jenkins. maybe be back this friday. it all depends on the swelling. if not this friday then for sure next. dont get to xcited county teams, he will be back. now back to midway.. i think wartburg will fix the turnver issues this week. ultimately i dont think any team after that many turnovers will repeat. they will hold on to the ball alot better. just come out and support and things will be just fine. good luck to the dogs.

Last time i checked Coalfield didn't have a W friday either. So you should probably worry bout your team instead of saying Wartburg don't have a good coaching staff. It's the same coaching staff as last year.. and didnt we beat ya'll last year?

The jenkins kid went out due to an inverted ligament in his ankle. Probably 2-4 weeks. He is a tough kid and will deffinately be back. However, he is also the fastest kid on the team. So the speed will be questionable again. I still think wartburg can pull it out. Hang in there dogs!

i think wartburg will take this one.. midway is a good football team with an outstanding program. but this is wartburg's year. taking in all the bad stuff that went wrong in the monterey game (9 turnovers, montereys opening play touchdown) the dogs overcame it all and managed to score twice to make it a 14-12 game for a long wile... i think wartburg is on the right track to a good season.

it was an outstanding game to go watch.. i personally think if wartburg doesn't turn the ball over nine times they probably come out with a win.. i mean they stopped a pretty good offense consistently and had a block punt n forced a couple turnovers.. and the offense played pretty good excluding the turnovers... fix a couple tweaks (turnovers) and the dogs have a very good football team. and the jenkins kid hurt the dogs when he went down.. hes one of the stongest n fastest kids on the team so when he goes out it always a struggle to overcome.. well we will see what happens at midway.. i think it will be a blast.

i believe the philip kid from wartburg or trout or woody deserve to be there.. all three can tough 80-83

the 06-07 wartburg team went to state against humboldt and lead at the half, had a 9 point lead in the 3rd and lost somehow. i believe by 9 maybe. thats far from a blow out.

Wartburg is an all around better football team.. when you talk about this team the last 3 years shouldnt even be in the same sentence. idk who will win but i do know that it will be a closer game than many may think.

this region is the toughest in the state by far.

im not going to set here and talk about teams like some of the people do on here.. bottom line is all teams work hard to do what they can, no sense in downing them.. and when i say all teams i mean ALL TEAMS! but i think coalfield will get it together in this game and come away with a W heaven knows they all want it.

you aparently didnt see the same game i did there toots. wartburg was not dominated by no means. wartburgs defense from wat i saw was dominate the whole game. they took it to you.

wartburg is better this year than what people may think.. i know they lost to scott high pretty bad but scott high is the real deal this year. wartburgs D is steppin up but i feel the offense needs some work. not sure how itl turn out but it will b close.

i agree, wartburg has deffinately improved dramatically on the defensive side of the ball, i watched the coalfield game and that hamby kid is big time. he can flat out play football on both sides of the football. harriman may have the upper advantage in speed, but i havent saw them play so im not sure what they have but im sure they have a great group this year. it will be a close game i think...
