  1. It really does not matter if they are head coaches or not. If you don't give someone a chance you will never know. Just find it funny good coaches leave the county to find great success at other schools. Argue the fact that Obama has never been a president, but he may end up the greatest or worst. However, the nation gave him a chance, and maybe the community needs to give more coaches an opportunity than turning them away.
  2. Sitting at home last night I watched the Hillsboro game on TV and saw a glance at Kelly Myers coaching the newly crowned 4A state champions last night. Next week I will be going to watch Fort Campbell play in Papa Johns stadium to see Todd Hodd play for a second state crown. Last I will listen to the Hopkinsville radio station to hear if my sons old coach from Northeast Chris Southerland wins his first state title with Christian County. What do all three of these coaches have in Common? 1. All coached at Northwest! 2. All denied head coaching jobs in Montgomey County! 3. All live in this community still today. 4. Were told they were not head coaching material, due to one reason or another. 5. Last, Northwest dismissed each. We want winners in Montgomery County, but we keep pushing them away! Who is next to leave and win? /excl.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":excl:" border="0" alt="excl.gif" />
  3. The key is how many of the assistant coaches are going to be in the building with the new head coach? Who will go to Central if they cannot bring coaches with them?
  4. Who are the front runners and people of interest that are sending in resumes? Has anyone in house showed interest? What names are in the pot for the new head coach?
  5. Bringing in two coaches with their work ethic and trust me they would complament each other. Mac with all his knowledge and Southerland with his new ideas and energy. This would equal trouble for other schools. Macdaddy, are you applying for the position or just pondering the decision?
  6. Think that area would benefit from a young energetic coach. Change may be good, and there is opportunity at Central for someone that will care and work hard.
  7. I agree with a coach should be in the building. It does make a difference!
  8. Well, I believe this is a game of big plays, and whomever makes the most big plays goes on. Stop the speed of each team and you are in the boro. I respect both head coaches and their staffs, so this one is a toss up. Wish I could be there!
  9. Heard that coach southerland is very interested in the position. He is coaching at Christian County as a defensive backs coach, and they are playing in the quarter finals this week. He coached at Northwest and Northeast, but was not given the position at Northeast and went to Kentucky. Maybe he could be a positive change. What about Kelly Myers or Todd Hodd or Ted Macaslin?
  10. So what happened to Miller? Did he get ejected the other night or just taken out by the coaches? How is Johnson dealing with the attitude of the athlete now? Thought he was going to change the attitude, but even Watkins did not have an ejection in his tenure. What is going on at the East?
  11. If the eagles do not have miller their offense will sputter. West is a good QB, but miller made that offense. What happened to miller on Friday? Did he get hurt or ejected? With an ejection he will not be back for a few weeks, and in the heart of the schedule with big teams. Last chance, in my opinion, to win this season is this game. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  12. I meant the last region game. The eagles beat up Kenwood this year, and maybe just maybe Dickson County! Think the season ends with a 4-6 record. Do not see the Eagles beating the top 5 in the region if they cannot throw the ball. Too many equal to better athletes in Wilson County that are coached better. Guess we will see the truth the next few weeks. The heart of the schedule will be weeks 6-10. Can they go a win without a passing game is the true tell of tells?
  13. I think this is the last opportunity other than dickson for the eagles. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> Centennial 34 /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> Northeast 14
  14. I think that people will load the box and NE has seen its glory till kenwood. Not hard to see all the Eagles can do is just run the ball, and you know Centenniel will come with a good team. This will be a game of defense, but see the Wildcats win big.
  15. Did you forget Carlos Fentres, Marcus Gildersleeve, and the entire 94 and 95 and 96 teams? Those teams were good, and did well with Stephens and Terry. However, you must thank fort campbell for losing many of the players that played on those teams from 93-96. However, this team is not that team, and Johnson is NOT Coach Butler. Sorry, but that is a fact. Butler ran those teams and demanded respect and power that he received from the administration. This coaching staff will not get the power that Butler received. Plus Rossview, Kenwood, and West Creek were not even a thought those days. So just shows you how speading talent draws from the city. Plus look at the Z-plan, it will not be better for 3 teams out the the new region will be playoff eligable. Don't see clarksville teams beating Henry County. Yes, only two 4A teams will be able to go to playoffs automaticly next year and two 5A teams. Well there will only be one 5A team being Dickson County. So lets enjoy the season, but I do not see us going better than 5-5. Sorry, but we will see in a few weeks if I am right of wrong. I hope I am though! /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  16. NE will be 3 - 0 at the end of Friday night. Guess the rules have changed in Clarksville. Isn't the option the Wildcat way? Fredrick changed identies and is now Mr. Miller. The option is not the only thing that left Clarksville High, the Eagles have the man that ran not only the offense, but also the old offensive coordinator. So I believe that this is the Eagles moment. Eagles 34 Clarksville 24 in a shootout Funny thing is it will be a run happy game for both teams, but Eagles surprise us in the air.
  17. We saw Southerland teach basic defensive schemes in the Spring, and a basic offense to follow. He is gone, and Johnson has done a great job. Do believe that the Eagles end season 5-5, and they will be in a bowl. Civitan Bowl bound. Sorry, but the big schools will not let Miller run wild on them, but I do see the Eagles beating Clarkville, Dickson, Kenwood, and just maybe pull up set vs. Centenniel. We will see week to week.
  18. Clayton hurts his other calf jumping for joy in a big game. FHS 34 - RHS 28
  19. clarksville wins big at home. by then the cats can practice running gams to prepare. Cats by 15 points.
  20. Columbia wins by 21 for one reason. Teams will start game planning the running game of the Eagles. To one deminsional. Good win but not impressed. Got to be a real name to make me see stars. just my opinion.
  21. Good job getting the first one, but now it is time to prove yourselves. Ravenwood beating Brentwood Academy, Indy beating Kenwood, Brentwood High beating Symrna, Franklin beating Hillsboro. Looks to be a tough season, but did you see the number of sophmores and juniors on the team. Heard at the game those students on the team can elect to remain at Northeast next year in 4A. Enjoy this season, but next year will be better. However the Z-plan will be rougher than people thank.
  22. Northeast has had its best fall camp schedule in resent years. Betting Stratford, Northwest, Stewart, and now Creekwood. The resume got impressive with Creekwood, but is Northeast really that good this year? 4-0 in preseason could give a team great momentum. Rossview has scrimmaged a tougher preseason playing Maplewood tough, Henderson Kentucky tough, DCA, and Hapeth. Coming out I think 2-2 or 1-3. The preseason record does not tell the story in my opinion. Tougher teams to scrimmage, but is there momentum. Rossview is coming off a huge win last year in the rival, but has a new head coach changed the way the game will end up? Will Coach Johnson prove to be the best hire for the position, or will it be the same old Northeast? Very talented with no discipline, or will Rossview continue to improve to the playoff contender? Lets hear some opinions! At the Moment I have it 28-14 Rossview in a game that is close for 30+ minutes, then the Hawks score two late in the game. Just my opinion!
  23. what has kenwood looked like? how about the wildcats? Usually the best in the ville, but is the dream over? Will NE or NW be the teams to beat this season? I still think that a scrimmage is just that. NE will be 2-8 at best, and NW will be 4-6 at best. NE has beat a stratford team that is hurting, a 2A stewart county team, and NW only by 1 point. If I recall, NE last season almost beat Maplewood in a scrimmage the state 4A runner up, and beat a more talented NW team by 27-0 in a half of a game that was 4 downs. Hard to judge a team by a scrimmage, but are the eagles finally that team that everyone wanted. I think not, but that is just an opinion. Rossview wins in two weeks by 13 points. 34 - 21 is my prediction.
  24. Sounds good. Heard NE is 3-0 in scrimmages, but are they really that good. Heard Rossview has looked well in scrimmages setting up a great match up in week 1.
