@GFD709SHREK and me both have smelled that smell and the mysterious fog that shows up just at game time.

@cherokean also has seen and smelled that smell.

    @Gbnation also.

I also remember the game you couldn't see a punt because the fog was so thick. So, the officials ended up stepping off yardage if you were going to punt.

  2. IMO...the reason for the uproar. You've got the ones upset over the previous hire and don't want to see a repeat and others that know that GR applied, interviewed and wants it. Of course there's some that fit in both areas. Things would probably calm down if they'd come out and give a TRUTHFUL reason of what they have against GR.

If I was in his situation and had put 6 years into my alma mater and achieved what was done in that span a mere 2 year before. It would be nice to know in a way as well.

The previous hire was the first true outside of the program hire, in my lifetime. All the other ones were already on the previous staffs.

The Driver’s Ed teacher? We haven’t had Driver’s Ed at Greenback in decades. May go all the way back to Mr. Hudson. So will they be creating a new position & funding a vehicle for the new course? Would love to hear our School Board representative for GB & our County Commissioner for GB’s thoughts on this.

GlenfromGreenback had just started HS the last time we had Driver's Ed. Calvin Blevins taught it a year or two after Hudson retired.

"You can lead a horse to water, but can't make him drink."...why even have a couple of people from the community on this committee and then not use any of their recommendations at all. And then there's this...a person under The Director of Schools that's totally against GR from the get go and then you have our School Broad member that has yet to stand up for anything in Greenback(this person knows the success that GB FB had with GR). What do we expect...Something Stupid.

And another thing...if LOUDON can rehire Harig after a very short stint in Knox Co., than why can't we do the same with an obvious choice of GR... Being a educator or not, shouldn't have any bearing IMO on this hire. Hire the best man...and the BEST has already proven what he can do, too everyone on this committee. If you have a thorn in your rear over said person it's time to pull it out and make the RIGHT DECISION.

IT'S NOT WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU INDIVIDUALLY,  IT'S WHAT'S BEST FOR THESE YOUNG ADULTS.

Personally, if they are AA, I don't see anyway they DON'T end up in Region 1.

If they fall into 1A, it'll be interesting. If Hancock brings back varsity football (I know that's what they want to do) Eagleton will surely be Region 2, right?

Now if Hancock can't bring back varsity ball, that throws some variables into the equation. Surely they wouldn't split the two Blount County schools up. I've been saying this for years, but geographically, Jellico hasn't made sense in Region 1 since they closed Powell Valley 20 years ago. Logically speaking, sending both Blount County schools up the road and putting Jellico in Region 2 makes much more sense.

Of course that's only relevant if the state has any interest in keeping Regions 1 and 2 balanced. Which they've shown in the past they don't.

Who is this 2nd Blount County school you speak of...cause I'm very confused.  The last time Blount had two classified as Class A was for the 1978 season(pre-WB).  Your boundaries are all messed up.

  7. Officials for the playoffs are assigned by TSSAA (Regular season they're assigned by your regional association supervisor)...your regular regional association if not assigned else where are typically assigned as a chain crew, etc...within their association. Host school covers cost plus mileage for officials off the top of gate $.

I'm a bit surprised Tim Hammontree didn't try to return back home to get out of that mess at Heritage High especially after about 30 showed up for spring practice out there. Heritage is full of prospective football players but most boys out there want to join the job field early in life to support that truck payment. When I passed by there a few weeks ago and only saw a few dressed out at practice I just about ran off into the ditch when seen that.

Hammontree and Casteel probably wouldn't have got along...hard feelings...cause from what I heard way back was that Tim removed him and another coach from the staff; back when Tim was at Maryville.

The East the next few years will be Greenback, SP, Gordonsville, even Monterey will be in the mix.  If Peabody does stay in 1A it will be theirs to lose the next 2 years.

Monterey's out of the mix...they're moving up to 2A.

Oneida to Hampton 360 miles and 6 hour round trip.
Oneida to happy valley 340 mile 5 1/2 hour round trip.
Oneida to South Greene 280 mile 4 hour 45 minutes round trip.
We would be well traveled lol.

Losing Cosby, North Greene & Rockwood to 1A, hurts the Region 1 & 2-2A alignment for sure.

TSSAA has already stated that fan attendance will be limited to either 1/3 or 1/4 of the stadium capacity.

It's a suggestion or recommendation.  If schools smaller than Greenback tried to do that, they'd probably be lucky to have enough of a gate to pay for the officials...that runs close to $900 a game.

    Concerning concessions:

Concession stands are discouraged because they tend to invite gatherings of people in close quarters. If a member school chooses to operate a concession stand at a contest, signage or other appropriate markings must be in place to encourage customers to maintain physical distancing while standing in line. Where possible, schools that choose to operate concession stands are encouraged to arrange for call-in orders in order to reduce the number of people gathering to stand in line and to limit the number of concession workers. All concession stand workers must wear facial coverings and must maintain as much physical distance as possible in the confines of the concession stand.

If their going to require masks, then why worry about the physical distancing part...doing both simply says to me that mask don't really help to start with.
