  1. This weekend there is a big pre-season tournament at Cordova. I'm sure we'll see what some teams have after Saturday. Most of region 10 will be there.
  2. Now I am new to the state and TN wrestling, but here's a thought: What about the Pyramid in Memphis? No one plays there any more and it holds around 17,000 or so I have been told. Like I said I am new to the state and live in the Memphis area, but wouldn't that venue be a good place to hold a state tournament?
  3. I wouldn't say there is a decline in the talent at Fargo. It's just there are some other tournaments now kids are going to go to in order to get noticed because it is cheaper. Actually the southern states are looking alot better at Fargo these days than they did 5 years ago. The difference between Virginia Beach and Fargo are the styles. At Fargo you are competing in freestyle or greco or both and at Virginia Beach they are wrestling folkstyle. Junior and Senior nationals are also a great way to get noticed (in fact I would put Jr/SR nationals ahead of Virginia Beach). Another GREAT way to get your name out there on the national scene are the Cadet and Junior Duals. The best wrestlers from each state form a team and go at and again they wrestle folkstyle and freestyle. Bottom line is you better be wrestling in the off-season if you watn to get noticed!!!!
