  1. I dont think the o-line is very good right now. I was reading in the paper that they are young. That is what you should expect from a first year school. Coach Watson will get the o-line a lot better. I was coached by him my junior and senior year. I came in not knowing nothing about being an offensive tackle into making all-state my senior year. Expect some good things from the o-line late in the year or within the next couple of years.
  2. There ya go oline. Preach it brotha!!!!!
  3. You guys are right!! The game is a lot of fun, but the real joy is meeting the kids from the hospital. I never knew that kids really looked up to high school football players. They looked so eager and happy to just sit down and eat with us. Your kids will have a lot of fun and also have some new experiences to go along with it. I played for the Est last year and if your son is going to go stay at the Smyrna Air Base like we did last year bring water. They have water foutains there but I am a big dude so I was making like 20 trips a day. They get water during practice. They also get gatorade after practice. In between there is a lot of thirst going on. I hope this helped!!
  4. BHSOL,I thought coach alsup played center in college??? Looks like you and paul are gonna have some fun at the depot!!!! I am out here doing construction work.
  5. kmw50, there you go with only saying Oakland and Riverdale. Look at the roster from Blackman the last 3 years. Not everyone came from Oakland and Riverdale. I will say a majority did, but not everyone. Oakland and Riverdale are not the only places where you become a good fotball player. Anybody can become a good football player. It is all in what you want to do!!!!!
  6. bhsol,I am not at UT-Martin anymore. Ever sine I suffered from my heat stroke last fall things have not been the same. UT-Martin was a great school just wasn't meant for me. As soon as I got there things were going the wrong way. We also had a coaching change in which the new coachs didn't believe I was up to par because of my heat stroke. So, I am back in the boro working right now. I hope to go walk-on at Middle Tennessee one day, but my health is not so good right now. I had a medicial redshirt last year, so that leaves me 5 more years of playing time left. We all need to get together(the old o-line) one day I havent seen yall in months!!!!
  7. Bhsol, dude I know who you are. I started at right tackle my junior and senior year (my senior year was when we got beat by riverdale when they had like 7 turnovers). I was just trying to state that not everyone who made Blackman a success came from Riverdale or Oakland. That was my whole point. The last couple of sentences on my last post was just a few examples of how La Vergne had the talent. Yes, it is do to not having a winning tradition or various other things. I do not write a lot on here anymore, but sometimes it is just fun to make people mad.
  8. Dudes, all this stuff about hard work and stuff only came from Riverdale and Oakland. Well, 5 players from Blackman came from La Vergne. All five started either their junior year or senior year. 2 of those had a chance to go play college ball. So, just because I am not from Riverdale or Oakland don't I do not know how to work hard or win. Believe it or not La Vergne was a tough program that was not blessed with a lot of coaches. We had the talent my sophmore year to bulldoze the whole region. Donnie Lowe,Marcus Hargrove, Ryan Trotter, Chris Campbell, and many others. Yall need to open your minds around the county a little bit more.
  9. Bench Press is something you tell your girlfriend and family about. Other than that, no one cares!!!!
  10. Slim, I couldn't agree with ya more. 2001 Blackman team rules!!!!!haha..... How ya been doing? We just started our morning workouts down there in Martin. 4:45 workouts are the best thing ever
  11. Ok, Riverdale can't talk about the first game. Also, the game is not going to be no blow out at ALL. Come on Warriors this is a playoff game and anything can happen. If you guys think like last years playoff game then yall are going to fumble 8 times AGAIN. Blackman will play yall hard, so yall better get that first game without RICO out of your heads.
  12. I would have to agree with olandpats on that one. If Riverdale is down they are gonna find a way to get back to the top. As a former player who played against them in the playoffs they do not give up. I played for Blackman and we were up 16-6 at halftime and they came back a different team in the 2nd half. Riverdale is pretty deep so my only advise would jump up early and keep the momentum your way the whole game.
  13. Hey buddy whats going on? Not UT-Knoxville parties it is the UT-Martin parties and they are pretty tight. whats been going with ya easyd?
  14. I am doing alot better since the time I got a little sick.lol. They decided to give me a medicial redshirt so I would not have to waste a year without practicing. As of right now I do not practice I just lift weights and all that good stuff. School is going pretty good and parties are pretty nice. Hey Blazeman63 how is school going for ya bud?
  15. Yeah slim, good choice of words. I think you know who I am but if you don't I am a old washed up offensive lineman from Blackman who is at UT-Martin. Good luck against Franklin County and I hope you guys have a better game than what we had to go through last year with them. I am going to try to make it if I can get to the boro in time. GOOD LUCK BLAZE!!!
  16. Here are my choices for Mr.Football..... Running Back- Abe Felix - Great runner with speed and able to make the big play. Lineman- Steven Jones - Good blocker and will be seen on saturday afternoons next year. Kicker- Brian Campbell?? - Scored alot of points as a junior for Riverdale and has done the same this year
  17. I know the Scott personally and I gone to school with him since the 6th grade. The kid has always had a baseball in his hands. I think he is awesome and he should have been drafted. The paper said the reason why he wasnt drafted was beacause he had to delevop his curveball and change up, I think. Very awesome kid and I give him 2 thumbs on a great job this year. We will see him on t.v. one day pitching for 8 million bucks.
  18. TheKing, very good post. I could not agree with you more on that. As long as they have that Scott kid on the mound they can not be stopped. They are very fortunate this year to have the power hitters like Camp, Meador, and Sabala. I have read in the paper that Camp has popped a few out of the park in their time of need. I got a chance to watch the LaVergne and Brentwood game this past week and that pitcher they have is AWESOME. They have a really good chance of winning state this year. All they have to do is keep their eyes on the prize and they will go the distance.
