I have a favor to ask of anybody that reads this and knows me personally. Brooke and I had planned on going down to the tournament this week but thankfully they are playing in the NCAA Div. 2 tournament this weekend. She would really like to have a program from the tournament. If you are going and you know us, could you let me know? I know this is silly but I didn't know any other way to get this answered. I was planning on PF making it or us going. Thanks.

If they are going to Div.II why should it matter? They are aloud to recruit and give scholarships. I could be wrong, but as long as the school is not in the A, AA, or AAA but remains private I would think it would be okay.
You need to make sure you get everything in writing from TSSAA just to make sure, we all have our thoughts, but theirs is the only one that matters.

Why did Unicoi get 2 players on the all tournamnet and not Claiborne?

I agree totally, I think both teams have done an outstanding job this year. One think we have to remember is that Betzy spank the Tigers last year and I think almost all players are the same, so this will be an interesting game. Will it be close or will it be a blow out? I just hope they have good officials and let the teams play their games and determine the outcome, but then again I could win the lottery too!

Size isn't the only factor that should be considered. This year Union county had to drive 3 hours to Unicoi County. The gym is very nice, but the distance is so bad that no fans can come and you get home at 1:30 on a school night and potentially have to go again the next night. A neutral, central place with a large enough gym would make more sense. And the gyms definitely need to be big enough.
You are correct. Region 1 has a long drive for people in and around Knox county and Sevier county and Claiborne County.

Unicoi is looking good but Elizabethton is looking as good as they have all year. A close called game might not help Unicoi or Betsy. They both play aggressive defense and both will suffer. Redd could get in trouble out front while Petrowski (?) might suffer inside. Both are "hands on". Weaver and especially Sparks could be in trouble with a tight called game. Gonna be a good show. The winner will face off with PF.

I am just hoping PF gets a win tonight, then we can worry about Unicoi or Elizabethton. I don't take any game for granted. Bad shooting, not playing defense, or anything could cost you a win at this level. I thought CC play very slow and not aggressive the other night, but blieve me they are tuff on pressing the ball causing turnovers, we will have to be ready to play.

To be the best you have to beat the best. It starts with Unicoi. I'll also say the winner of this game has a chance to beat Pigeon Forge. They are very good, but not unbeatable.
Well the Tigers are trying to stay focused on each game as they come. I can tell you this, after the spanking Elizabethton gave Pigeon Forge last year in the semi-finals they are not thinking anything except they are the top team of the tournament. Yes Pigeon Forge has improved this year, but so has Elizabethton.
IF (and that's a BIG IF) both teams advance to the finals and they both stay out of foul trouble and play both at their best, it would be the best game all year.

Why hasn't the Knoxville News Sentinel posted the all District team for District 2AA.
Was it forgotten after the media black out voted upon by the coaches?
Or does the Knoxville News Sentinel just don't care?
PS. I haven't seen it in the Mountain Press either. ( I smell a conspiracy

I haven't seen Unicoi Play, but I think this years regionals is going to be the best we seen in a while. With all the talent that is going to be on the court, I wouldn't want to bet for or against any team.

I just want our girls to concentrate on one game at a time. It has been proven in district 2 AA that the # 2 team could end up #4. Our team is going to have to bring it every game.

Check with Freda Meade in Pigeon Forge, they always put on about 2 to 3 tournaments. Makes a good little vacation. I know for the past 2 years Freda and my wife Ladytigersmom have been doing it and my wife would try and work out the schedule where you would play 2 of the 3 days together so you could have one day of fun. This year it's all Freda our daughter is going on to College ball.
They usaully are play days not bracket play, less money to enter and just good games to get teams ready for Sub-State.

Got to see the CG & SG play tonight. I think the Cats could have won if they had continue to take it inside and let the big guys score.
The Rebels are just explosive from the guard position and they were just playing more aggressive, taking the ball to the Cats drawing fouls.
I do believe the 2nd half was change due the foul count, (not making excuses) just took the Cats out of their game. It seemed to be a little one sided there for a quarter and a half.
Anyway great game to be at and best of luck to the teams going into the Regionals. Make District 2AA proud.

CD's coach did NOT tell anyone to take out Newman...although it may have happened, the team was not informed to do so... and the high five, players usually get yelled out for fouling out, not a high five, but I'd say if there were a high five, it would have been for a good game from the player and definitely not for hurting someone.

I think that if two teams are big time rivals then of course one team might cheer against another while they are playing. However I have also seen several games at Morristown West this week and I have not seen coaches cheering against other teams. If they have been then that is a shame because they should be more professional than that and be setting a better example for their teams.
jgarrison...did the girl from CD get suspended or any form of punishment for taking out Newman? I mean from anybody other than her coach obviously.
Nothing happen in the game, and that was all I saw.
Why would she get in trouble from the coach she was the one who told her to take her out.
In fact the last 1 1/2 minutes that Kendra was in there while we were holding the ball to run the clock out, the same girl fouled Kendra again by jumping into her and making contact with her face. That being the 5th foul (Ithink) anyway she got a high five from her coach.
Let me tell you if Kendra was my daughter I would still be in jail today.

Riker yet a great coach but never a person who cared about etiquette.
Chuckey Doaks coach told her player to take Kendra Newman out at their home court last year and she did which was caught on tape causing her to leave the floor for the rest of the game except for about 1 and half minutes left. Also she had to go to the DR. because of a bruised pelvic(?) bone.

When Pigeon Forge is as old as South Greene we might have a few, but that is not the topic of this thread.
Let me say that other than West Greene, I don't think anyone from the other Greeneville schools in our district can talk about a coach and their etiquette

Well a sport reporter wheither on radio or paper has to be objective. Not say everything is okay when clearly there is a problem. He would not be doing anyone who reads a paper justice. If they want that kind of reporting they need to let their Year Book Staff cover it for them.
