  1. That was the only point I was making about the game. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Good luck to CPA this year.
  2. It was a 7-9 point game until the 4th when CPA pulled the ball out to run the clock and force the foul. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Box Score 1 2 3 4 FINAL Christ Presbyterian Academy (1 - 0 - 0) 18 9 16 13 56 Hillwood High School (1 - 1 - 0) 9 10 17 2 38 Game Summary Game Statistics Opponents A FGA FGM 3PA 3PM FTA FTM TO Blks R S PF TF Christ Presbyterian Academy 0 0 0 0 7 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Hillwood High School 0 0 0 0 4 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Christ Presbyterian Academy Player Points FGs 3pts FTs Tyler Aberg 1 0 0 0 David Anderson 19 0 3 0 Will Franklin Chapman 10 0 2 0 Bryant Constantine 1 0 0 0 Marshall Ellson 5 0 0 0 Hunter Miller 18 0 2 0 Matt Zelenik 2 0 0 0 Hillwood High School Player Points FGs 3pts FTs 20 Randy Carter 4 0 0 0 44 Jimmie Goodloe 12 0 0 0 10 Tevon Mitchell 3 0 1 0 30 Reggie Rucker 3 0 1 0 2 Brandon Tyler 5 0 1 0 23 Max Ugboaja 4 0 0 0 25 Cody Vanatta 2 0 0 0 15 Markees Walker 5 0 1 0
  3. No stats yet. My cell phone went dead last night during the conversation.
  4. This game was closer than the final score indicates. CPA pulled the ball out into 5 High in the 4th quarter forcing Hillwood to foul.

  6. While Jenkins was almost unstoppable with 41 for Station Camp, the Hilltoppers pulled out the win. Vandy got a nice player in Jenkins and Hillwood snagged a great coach with Dodd. I don't know how good Station Camp is supposed to be, so could someone enlighten me? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  7. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> From all accounts, It sounds as if Coach Dodd will have his hands full. However, if I could choose anyone to try to turn the program around, Coach Dodd would be my choice. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I'm guessing he'll have his belly full also, as he loves to eat out! /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  8. Thanks for the tip on Goten's. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> You are correct in assuming that I have no idea about the situation at Hillwood. I will still attempt to be a long distance fan.
  9. Thank you for the update. I thought I was correct, but being a newbee to the Tenn Preps forum, I'll defer to the more experienced posters when it comes to rules and guidelines in Tenn. I hope to see a couple of Hillwood games this year, as I have heard that Kobe's Steak House is one of a kind. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> We have several other generic places around here but I hear Nashville is tops!
  10. Thanks for the information. I am a novice when it comes to basketball in Tenn. However, when the word gets out that Hillwood has hired Coach Dodd, they will come. As far as the field of applicants for the job, I don't know. My only point was that Hillwood hit the jackpot in the fact that Coach Dodd wanted to move back to Nashville... Coach has seemingly unlimited connections within the NAIA and was able to help place many kids from the 16th region in Kentucky at colleges that might not have been able to go otherwise. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I will continue to monitor the progress of Hillwood over the next few years. It should be interesting. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  11. Please correct me if I am wrong, but, I believe any rezoning efforts would not effect Hillwood as they are an academy, meaning any kid in Nashville can attend. The only thing that I actually know for certain about Hillwood is that they hired the top coach availiable in the high school or small college market. He will make a huge difference in three to four years, perhaps sooner. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  12. ** Coach Dodd also played for and is a grad of David Lipscomb. His wife is a Lipscomb grad and is from Tenn. Returning to Nashville is coming home to them.
  13. There will be no culture shock for Coach Dodd, who is an NAIA Hall of Fame coach. He was at Lindsey Wilson College for a good many years as well as several other colleges. He left Lindsey Wilson for Russell because it was home to him. He went to high school at Ashland Blazer, about 5 miles from Russell. He is coming to Nashville because he has other family there and also there is Kobe's. While at Russell: 2003- Russell lost in the region semi-finals on a last second desperation shot. 2004- Russell lost in the region semi-finals. 2005- Russell lost in the region finals with their top scorer playing with a dislocated shoulder from the first quarter on, rendering him ineffective. 2006- Russell won the region for the first time in 34 years! 2007- Russell finished the season 27-5, losing in the region semi-finals. They were the favorite to win the region this year but their top player, Jon Vanhoose went down with a season ending knee injury in the district tourney. He is Russell's leading all time scorer and signed to play at Evansville. 2008- Russell finished 3-25 after losing 11 of their top 13 players from 2007. They had no starters returning. If not for injuries, Russell would have celebrated 3 regional championships in row. If anyone can make things happen at Hillwood, it is Coach Dodd.
