The truth is that it's a sad day when your school board members, teachers as well as other county officials pulls against a hometown team for some team they don't even know. Maybe Unaka did cheer for the other team, but perhaps they felt compelled to do this because of the previous circumstances surrounding their game.

I'm not sure who they played but they looked great. They seem to be coming together as a team. I think their missing a couple of players to football though. They play tonight at 5:00

Hey Fatchance, Did you happen to be living in a cave last year or maybe you weren't following Unaka ball very closely. You didn't hear Chambers name mentioned a lot last year simply because you had 2 outstanding players on the team who deserved and received all the recognition last season. Chambers was good last year, although he didn't play as agressive as he should, but this year is a different story. He's stepped up his game 100% and he plays totally off the hook. Read the papers this year and I"m sure by the end of the season, you'll know who Chambers is!!! GO UNAKA

Hey GHSgozz22, It's CHITWOOD and just because UNAKA is small I wouldn't count them out just yet. Sure Dugger and Cole were good but there were 3 other players on the floor with them. Chambers has stepped up his game this year, (he had to). And like you said he's a baller and so are the other players. We may take a beating the first of the season but I definately look for good things from Unaka this year.

He's around 6'2. He's # 7 at Carver.

I saw the Unaka boys play tonight and they looked really good. I think Chambers had his best game of the league. He scored over 30 points. Daniel, Cody and Thomas looked good too. They all tired the second half, but that's to be expected with no subs to give you a break.

Well lets see I do believe that Unaka does have a couple of players over 5'6 - Jones - 6'6 and Chambers 6'2 And no the two people posting on here from Unaka are not morons. That might by true VOL but it's hard for the other players to score when they hardly get the ball. They lost 3 excellent players and the team will be down. But don't count them out just yet. Their scrappy and we all might be surprised. Chambers, Collins and Guess have been playing great so far, hopefully so will the rest of the team. I guess it's wait and see.

I agree with Hablo. The Rangers showed us what they were really made of last night. They took everything that Science Hill dished out and handled it with dignity and composure. I'm curious to see how the other "Hill" teams play. I do have a question, I understand that there weren't to be any coaches on the bench but I've noticed that a couple of the teams have an adult sitting on the bench with them. Can anyone tell me why some teams have them and some don't?

I was there at the game. I think creekercalhoun jumped the gun when he mentioned "the common similarity". It's obvious that the other team had played more than one game at Carver. We had referees of both races and not saying which one it was but one of them really stunk it up. Actually, they didn't let the other team foul us, the let them mug us. You know it's home cooking when they would foul us, look at the ref and smile, knowing he wasn't going to blow the whistle and keep on going. They let the game get a little out of hand toward the end, after the game, their coach even mentioned it to one of our parents that it was a little rough. Good refs do make a difference in the game. Science Hill has a good ballteam but so does Unaka.

Yea and u only wished. you are out of your mind if you think cloudland and university high will be the 2 teams but comenovember when u seem them play your gonna only prayed that coach wadley scheduled cloudland or university high instead of the so called dirty white boys (unaka high)whos is gonna be one of the most tenacious defenses in 1A this year. so i guess we will see whos gonna put up or shut up come november

Im predicting that who ever wins the Temple VS Unaka game wins state tournament. These teams work harder than anybody around and it will pay off.

I don't think he was referring to the head coach, only the ones who assist, whether it's officially on the field or off. There's a new style of playing and the people on the creek need to get up with the times.

Maybe Betsy is afraid of some good competition. You know that whole "creek" and "city" thing has gotten blown out of proportion. I say go for it and give the fans a great game.

I think this sounds really funny coming from some one who cant spell neither knows a hill of beans about basketball. I mean come on this is unaka you are talking about 1 of the most exciting/top teams in 1A basketball.just because unaka wins the conference, every year not to mention the district, substate, wins 20 something ball games scheduled against AAA and AA teamsand is one of the final 8 teams in the state tournament you feel you should get on here and bash them cause University High nor Cloudland has done neither. they cant help they work harder and have much more talent than any other team in the conference im sure coach Ensor and staff will have there team ready to play come november then we will see who comes out on top. wins the regionals, wins substate,

Sorry Crystal but I disagree. Last time I checked there were 5 players on the floor. We only lost three and we have more to replace those three. Granted, losing Dugger, Cole, and Collins hurt but I think when it's time to play ball, the Rangers will be ready.

Can Unaka make it back to the state tournament next year. if so whats it gonna take for them to get there again?
