King I agree Cannon and LA will battle it out all season girls and boys side they are both very well coached, can never count out Upperman but should be a fun season to watch one of the best AA districts in the state

You must be king of the dumb (insert word for donkey/sounds like bass) if you think Upperman is going to finish 3rd. LA is always playing their best ball come tourney time and i said that but right now they are not in the MIDSTATE TOP TEN POLL NOR SHOULD CANNON BE IN THERE! Thats all i was saying cry baby geez......... :thumb: Cannon has defeated Forrest who was last year's single A runner up and they have prolly the class A Ms. basketball in Beth Hawn, they also defeated Hume-Fogg by ton and they were in state tournament last year, then they went to LA and beat a good LA team. The rest of there non-district schedule is chocked full of mostly AAA schools who they have soundly defeated. They are also alot of teams who would not schedule Cannon because they were scared of losing so they are playing as strong a schedule as they could make. I agree it will be a three team race with Upperman, LA, and Cannon but right now Cannon is on top and they deserve every accolade they are recieveing and Coach D is doing a great job with a great group of players. They are 13-0 for a reason!!!!

Cannon Co. actually was a basketball powerhouse in the late 80's and early 90's. They were in the state tournament year in and year out. And Cannon Co's boys dominated the district in the late 90's and early 2000's. There girls have had back-to-back 20 + win seasons and are playing very-well this year. LA, Cannon, and Upperman are all very good teams and are all very well coached and they will continue to make 8-AA the toughest district in the state IMO

I agree Coach Smith and Coach Dodgen are outstanding coaches. This should be a tremendous game . I feel that Cannon can match LA depth wise and I am just really looking forward to seeing a great game between two great programs

I think this will be a tremendous game and atmosphere. Cannon and LA are both talented. I think there styles are similar and it should be great game.

If I am not mistaken Hume-Fogg was in the state tournament last year and CCHS defeated them easily. Siegel played them the day before and CCHS beat them much worse than siegel did

Wow. Sounds like they must be playing well. I look forward to seeing them play against the tough LA squad. So do I. I look forward to seeing some great games between these two schools. i know LA is very well coached and they are talented should be be a great district season

I am a Cannon Co. supporter, but I just want to say how proud and impressed I am with region 8-AA. York and Smith represented our region very well as did Dekalb and LA. And Cannon shocking everyone and winning the region championship. Truly a great season for 8-AA football. Coach Schrenk did an outstanding job and as far as I am concerned he has the right to make any types of changes that he wants on his staff. The D-coordinator did a great job but he never really got on board with the vision and plan of the program. He has lots of supporters but this is the 2nd coach in 2 years to fire him, that should tell everyone something. Anyway I think Termite and all Smith Co. fans would agree that Cannon Co. improving only helps our region and makes every game count and fun to watch. Congrats to all 8-AA teams this season!!

barger didn't start anything at CANNON it was the BOYS that turned the program around!!!!!!!!! barger left and that made them boys work harder than ever and he left them boys in the hands of someone that didnt know how to coach only thing good that came out of bringing bartch in was th D-cordinator and now there is a pretty good coach in there the way this guy coaches is the way every coach should coach(with pride, determination, and heart) he make the team a family! that makes all the difference in the world to these boys! let this guy work for a cupple of years and get more players in there! then you will see this guy at work!!! Coach Bartsch did a fine job while he was here, he knows how to coach and he will be successful in his future. He coached the way successful programs are coached. He was the boys football coach not there friend!!! and thats how it is suppose to be. He was left with a senior class that expected to be just show up and get playing time. And then he finally got rid of the players who didn't wan to play and he was fired for it. Anyway Coach schrenk is doing an outsatnding job and CCHS will be fine. With the d-coordinator gone all the coaches can now share the same vision and mission of the program

Pspy, with the defensive co-ordinator being gone it is an addition by subtraction to the team. He did a fine job, but perhaps there is a reason that both of the last 2 head coaches have removed him as coach. Now maybe the whole team is on the same page incuding ALL the coaches. I hope the d-coordinator lands on his feet and gets a good job, but the team will do just fine remember Coach Schrenk was a defensve co-ordinator in Alabama for a long time so he will coach the defense up i am sure.

I do not know a whole lot about this year's tullahoma team. They will be athletic and and play up-tempo and try get alot of second chance points. CCHS is up for a bigger challenge than bledsoe was , but I think this a diffferent team than year. As long as they play a consistent 4 quarters than CCHS can win this game but it should be fun to watch

I agree Cannon looked very smooth against Moore Co. , they play tonight at Bledsoe Co. should be a nice little first test to see how far they have progressed. Could be a great season for CCHS

WOW!!! those are the words I choose to describe the season CCHS football had this year. I was the biggest critic of all of Coach Schrenk and I said back then I hope he proves me wrong and he and his staff most certainly did. When he was hired I said he needed to generate potential new players interest and he has done that as I have heard there 20 -25 new players expressing interest in playing next season, then he needed to push and promote the program to the community and he did that better than any coach we have ever had as the community support was outstanding. Most importantly I said he must change the culture of Cannon County football and that is always the hardest job a coach can have and he has changed the image and culture of the program more important than anything he won games and led the team to a region championship. The job you have done Coach Schrenk and staff was amazing and your doing an outstanding job!!! I know there will be groing pains as there always is in building a program, but I see only good things in the future !!!! Great season and a job well done. Now I hope the community will support boys and girls basketball the way they supported football. Both teams have outstanding coaches and the teams are working exceptionally hard to start a new generation of winning tradition for CCHS Basketball. I promise there will be a great product on the floor and you will enjoy the atmosphere of the games!! CCHS BASKETBALL ENVY THE PAST, FEAR THE FUTURE!!!! Again congrats to the football team and staff. We are lucky to have the great group of coaches we have at CCHS, thanks to you all for your hard work and dedication

As someone said this is a dangerous first roung game for CCHS because Harpeth will not care that they are district champions. In my opinion CCHS coach's should really try and be extra enthusasiic this week and let that carry over to the players. Cannon should play with some swagger and be deermined to show everyone that they were for real during the season and that they are ready to take the next step in the program. If Cannon stops big plays I think they win the game.

Huge congradulations to Cannon Co. and Coach Schrenk and the entire staff for an extremely well-done job so far this season. I hope everyone realizes how great it is that Cannon played a very tough non-region schedule. They should be very prepared for any team they might face in the playoffs. There are a couple of valley teams Cannon might end up playing that have played very bad teams and they will struggle during playoff time. So despite the early losses tough scheduling will pay off in my opinion. Good Luck and Congrats to CCHS!!!!!

I know Cannon is scheduled to host a play day on the 14th i believe and they have Bledsoe Co. and Warren Co. for HOF games

LA and Cannon should be competing at the top this year. They are both very well-coached and have lots of talent returning. This district will again be very competitive. year in and year out it is one of the toughest in the state so no team can take any games for granted. But I think it will be Cannon or LA on top

LA will be talented as usual and they are the district champions until someone beats them. Cannon Co. and Dekalb Co. are both extremely well-coached and they always play hard. Cannon has several players returning so the potential is there for Cannon to have a great season, but they must show up every night. But i would so the top three are definetly LA, Cannon, and Dekalb

I think Cannon Co. needs to guard against a letdown. They have the ability to really make a statement and put some points on the board, but they can not look past Upperman a team with nothing to lose can be very dangerous. So I think Cannon needs to play with some swagger and play confident and beat Upperman like they are capable of. If they do win, it will cap off a tremendous regular season in which the team and Coach Schrenk proved everyone wrong including myself.

Cannon Co. played an outstanding game on both sides of the ball and beat a very good football team that has outstanding tradition. As a Cannon Co. fan I am excited about the win and excited about where the program could be going. I also wish Smith the best and I hope Cannon can start to become as consistent of a winner as Smith Co. has been over the years. Outstanding game Cannon Co. now go beat Upperman and play with some swagger

I, just like pspy was very critical of the hiring of Coach Schrenk based on his record. I am so glad to say I was wrong on that. He does deserve alot of credit for the job he has done at CAnnon this year. I don't know what he has done,but he has a team that believes in a central vision about where the program can go. He has changed the culture at Cannon Co. and for that I fell he deserves alot of credit along with his staff and the players.

I have heard SC's starting running back Silva is out. If this is true this helps Cannon's chances greatly. Cannon will have to improve greatly offensively to be competitive against a great team like Smith. Im sure Coach Maynord and Coach Schrenk will have there teams ready for this game with the region championship on the line

Coach Schrenk and his staff have done an outstabding job with this team so far. They are developing a new mindset and are generating interest back into the program. I love the spread and can wait until the offense fully grasps it. The defense and special teams are playing lights out and that is a mark of a good team in my opinion. I expect Cannon to be prepared for this game and show up ready to play despite the long trip
