  1. i believe the jv had winning season every year under rewis except for his first season at heritage as far as the good at heritage for the next coach despite what people say the kids on the team do want to win and are dedicated to that things just havent worked out the last few years the kids love the weight room and getting stronger and as long as the next coach keeps in competitive to see who can get stronger and be the strongest on the team the kids will continue to want to get stronger he will get a strong defense led by cermak and shell along with minh tran major weekness offensive line
  2. heritage middle school 4-4 eagleton middle school 0-8 and a few kids from carpenters middle school..... not sure on carpenters as far as what coach rewis ran he ran a 3-5 on defensive with alot of blitz i dont think that there was a single play we didnt blitz over the last 4 or 5 years he was at heritage as far as offensive it changed alot... take this season for example... started the year with a flex sex with 2 wings then he ran an overload set with both of his tackles to one side leaving on a guard and tight end on the back side with split backs in the back field and a running back lined up between the two tackles a few weeks later he switched to a i-formation which was effective for a while but once it quit working he moved to a spread shotgun formation and with tyler edmonds at quarterback it was very effective but he couldnt stay healthy
  3. everyone else wants him so im thinking bill cowher
  4. chip gave me the name of the boy from tenn tech but i cant remember it to be honest he didnt give the name of the other two but im sure you can find who the guy from farragut is if you look hard enough on
  5. this is straight from the horses mouth so to speak there are exactly 12 applicants three main ones are assisstant offensive coordinator at farragut a coach from down in alabama and a young man that played lineman at maryville at Tenn Tech that was on ut's staff as a weight trainer and a GA (graduate assisstant)
  6. ladner is telling everyone he is moving to maryville and coach young has been made aware of this. and if jett leaves then that leaves the best running back coming from any of the surrounding middle schools other than coco at alcoa, and between malones abilities on offense and on defense then he should recieve cermaks old titile at "the future". i see malone getting playing time at spur or outside linebacker next year on varsity depending on the defense that is ran. the kid is a phsyco and loves to hit. he is smart and he is fearless and thats a dangeours mix. i dont see crockett getting the o line award. allen is just to good
  7. as far as the quarterback postion is concerned they have tyler edmonds and when he is healthy he can play, and just to throw this out the and might be a shock to some and to other we all know this kid has an arm jordan correll has made the decsion to move to quarterback for his senior season.
  8. according to people at the banquet the top the canidadates thus far are mike white, shane rewis, and richie wilhite. all three are good choices in my opion. as far as the awards go all were very deserved hopefully chase cline will continue to play at heritage unlike many of the last freshman of the year. including micha dando and tyler hartly dixon was a very good player for heritage but more of a linebacker than a lineman but glad to see him awarded cermak will continue his outright dominance on the defensive side of the ball next year. dallas hill got it cause he was the leading scorer but then again not alot of points were scored this season but dallas was a big contributer this season. brandon edmonds is a down right amazing athlete and an even greater leader. all heritages captains were great kids this year. predictions for next year.... captains michael cermak, clayton shell, and toss up for the third i will go with minh tran lineman of the year caleb allen defensive player of the year michael cermak offensive player jordan correll mountaineer award andy eldridge or michael cermak this is a hard award to predict freshman player of the year... jake malone or jonah jett
  9. much easier schedule then the last 6 years even with only 4 home games wish they would left the willy-b game on halloween that takes a lil bit of the thrill of watching and playing out of it those kids wait all season to play each other and now its not gonna be the same
  10. from what i understand he is considering trying to get on at maryville college as an assisstant. he was offered a job there 3 years ago and is wanting to see if the offer is still there, but if not i expect him to stay in the area and coach. he loves east tn, and the people here.
  11. Heritage has a good practice and probably the best game field around! They have 2 weight rooms that they use so their facilities are decent. As far as no talent are you freaking crazy! Michael Cermak, Clayton shell, Andy Eldridge, Minh Tran, and Chase Cline are all good players with good talent. Im assuming the dragon fan means clinton and for the mountaineers not having any talent everytime they have faced you in a pre-season scrimage they have pretty much owned you, and as far as for the future talent at heritage. i know from the middle school they will be recieving Jake Malone who is a great hard nosed running back that is even better at defense as a linebacker and safty. his older brother was the starting center this year. Bradly Ladner will be coming in at quarter back and can throw the ball farther than any middle schooler i have seen. with the right coach he can be great. Jonah Jett has a name for the papers, a big and very fast running back who has soft hands, and lastly Keagan Matlock is a phsyco and will be a great linebacker or defensive end. whoever takes over this team has talent there. its just can they get a guy in there that will put it all together! GO HERITAGE!! good luck in the future!
  12. we usually have 15 or 16 cheerleaders most are on vacation. we are on fall break. so are usually huge student section also was tiny. we lose alot of great athletes to maryville and alcoa. they both are great programs and it makes it hard to get anything done when all your players leave such as thomas shuler, austin talent, tyler mcglothlin, austin talent, and so many more.
  13. there wasnt much going on through the air most passes were batted down but he did throw a couple good passes but they were short ones the running game was great
  14. my assessment was correct as far as the play from malone against jackson, but thats not saying much cause the owls came out and played one heck of a game. they beat heritage in a good clean game, but jackson's name was only called 2 times the entire night. one for a sack which was caused by big number 36. now that kid is an athlete, and the other was a play that came off of a bad cut block by heritages gaurd jesse dixon, but malone stayed with jackson all night. whether it be cut blocks or locking him up and not letting much penitration, but like i said great showing by the owls.
  15. what your video shows is a clean and press... a clean is taking it from the ground and cleaning it to the chest and get the forearms flipped out and breaking the wrist. not literally and finishing in the standing postion a second rep would be dropping it to the waiste line then touching the ground with it all under control and then repeating the process
  16. i assure you while it sounds like alot i do mean power cling. the heritage program since rewis has been their have not maxed out on squats. on their board in their weight room it lists there lifting record holder. as of several weeks ago being that last time i saw it. it stated that eric costner held the bench press record at 390 and power clean and 425. so im assuming that the bench has went up to 400. as a testament to his strength at least on bench press at the big man tournment of champions eric costner put 185 up 33 times i do believe but it was somewhere between 30 and 33. and as for writing a big check for malone. your right, im not questioning the talent of jackson it all to put it point blank the kid is darn good, and is the better athlete between the two, but malone plays smart. im sure you all will be suprised. good luck to both teams go heritage
  17. i honestly believe malone can. i have seen him block some get athletes this year, and im not saying he is gonna drive him off the ball by 10 yards but malone will not give up alot of penatration. and if the line 67 up over guard eric costner is a beast. he benches right at 400 lbs and power cleans well over 400. the mountaineers are a lil weak at tackle but still bring decent play from their young guys out there.
  18. i have seen film on this boy. he is good. and im not gonna argue that poing, but heritage's center john malone #55 is very capable of handling him. Malone is the kinda player that gets in your head, and thats what im sure he is gonna do. he is gonna get in his head and have jackson worried about what he is gonna do next. plus malone has two good strong guards next to him. for double teams if need be.
  19. i agree heritage has a few great and several good athletes. including michael cermak, eric costner, jesse dixon, jared price, clayton shell, amdy eldridge, and kenny ervin. its just a matter of putting 4 quarters together.
  20. he is being recruited for long snapping while not a major postion it still makes him a D-1 prospect
  21. i expect to see a healthy refocused heritage team. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> that is gonna come out play a tough in the trenches football game that will look alot like they looked against a very good seymour team. they get the strongest player on the team eric costner, UT prospect cody garland, leading rusher jared price and the quarterback tyler edmonds who hasnt really been healthy yet this season. all back and ready and dieing to play. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> they are a fairly healthy team over all now. minus a lil soreness in kris jones shoulder and a possiable tear in their center calf they are ready to go, and knowing john malone he is gonna play torn muscle or not. /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" /> so expect to see a heritage team ready to go. but would love to hear from some soddy fans /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  22. the way i hear coach rewis wants to coach at the next level, but he loves the heritage program. he says "there is nothing like the challenge of playing the top teams in the state week in and week out" and the way i see it is he is right. he wouldnt get to coach that schedule at any college or another high school such as maryville. plus he isnt leaving with it being cermaks senior year upcoming. he is in love with that kid.
  23. well maybe heritage would have had a chance to win if well lets see. the pass interference on the oak ridge sideline was bs the ball was way under thrown and uncatchable. last time i check you had to have complete control of the ball for it to be a catch. on one of the touchdown catches he didnt have position until he was way out of bounds. on the touchdown catch on the heritage sideline the kid stepped out of bounds with both feet before the ball even hit his hands. that short little running back who was running his mouth all night and had to be pulled back by his team going into half time was holding all game right in front of the ref. last time i checked the offense cant tackle the defense.
  24. i have never seen a bigger bunch of cheaters in my life. you can tell the refs love oak ridge. the was holding several times right in the refs face but do the call it no. number 4 had heritages number 24 by the facemask and wouldnt let go so number 24 slapped him in the facemask and got ejected.
  25. your calling the heritage fans classless. well lets see. #54 Eric Costner team captain of the heritage squad goes down with an injury in the second quarter with the score 7-6. after being worked on while still on the sidelines eric is carried off to the training room for further evaluation. when a chant starts saying "where did you go hide 54" if you ask me that is pretty classless, and as i saw late in the third or early in the fourth it was a young man from farragut that hit heritage center in the back as he was standing up after the play and got a 15 yard penalty. so how is that for a class act.
