  1. Section 9 e and f of the tssaa rules explains the rest.
  2. headhunter I appreciate the kind words. First off it was my second season at DC. Second yes I was still learning when montgomery was head coach but I had very little if any help on defense except for one other coach. We gave up an average of 12 points a game that year. Those kids trusted me and I trusted them. I loved those kids. They did everything I ask of them. The key to coaching the kids there is to let them enjoy their experience. You will game their trust and respect once you allow them to have fun. Forcing discipline on a kid isn't the answer, respecting them will lead to that. By the way, Allen did not let me go, Montgomery did.
  3. I truly hope you guys find someone who respects the tradition and wants to build. I know its a great place to be with good people. Good luck pounders.
  4. I would like to apologize to the purple pounder family. My cousin got on here and was trying to say good things about me but he knows I do not like that to well although I do appreciate his kind words. So you will not hear anymore from tackle football. Thanks.
  5. I can deal with it, its just when people like you say things like I'm going behind peoples back becomes personal. Has nothing to do with football. I'm done talking about this.
  6. Thank you pounder1. If I ever did come back it would be because of people like you. Like I said in the beginning of my post I don't ever get on here and write but that post by bigbaddude just offended me in many different ways.
  7. I never get on this site and write but I am offended. I appreciate the post tacklefootball but it is people like bigbaddude that I will never coach at central again. I am happy where I am. As for going behind coaches backs, I have never done. It is coaching 101 that if a player gets chewed by one another coach should pat the player on the back and remind them to move on. Its not pampering, its called reassurance. There is a huge difference and if you knew anything about coaching you would know that. As far as me not teaching, I know a heck a lot more about football than some coaches who do teach. There were a lot of players that continued to play at central because Barger and I knew how to talk to them and not yell at them every time they did something wrong. I learned that from john Crawford and David Barger. I would line any defense up I coach against anything you have. I promise they would fight tooth and nail and do it with discipline. You don't know me so don't waste your button pushers pretending you do. The only back that was gone behind was mine. A few people there aloud me to get stabbed in the back. There are a lot of good people there at central. Have a nice day.
  8. look guys, as a football coach now and a former grad and assistant at mcminn the head coach is called the head coach for a reason. tribefan you know as well as i do that mullinax was somewhat the same way. i love coach mullinax like a father, but he wanted his coaches to coach a certain way and we did. when something goes wrong, its the head coaches name in the paper, not the assistants. i agree that bo should let his coaches coach, but i know bo and it is about getting the program back on track. its also about the kids not about which coach is here or not. i am good friends with bo and with brent, and if there is some kind of misunderstanding, im sure its no ones buisness. i love mcminn and would love to come back and coach someday and i also know that if your like me, you would like to see the traditional type football back there. if there is anybody that could do that, its someone who played under mullinax and understands the way to do it. bo understands. i know where i am coaching, i am the def. cord. and have to do what the head coach suggests. thats part of it. its the way old school football is played. hope you guys have a great season. beat those owls!!!!!!!! by the way tribefan, hows the wildcats looking and hows the golf game going? hope the wife and kids are doing well.
  9. you must not get out much. you need to look in the mirror before you start calling people dummy.
  10. yes, you are right about that and half of them are zoned for central. Thats funny too, concidering that the reasoning behind these kids are going to ooltewah instead of central are because of better teaching and not as much trouble. Has anyone read the paper lately. I know of one "super Star" that lives right behind central, not even 100 yards and he is at ooltewah. Tell me somethings not fishy. From what I heard from someone at the board, thats about to stop. Oh and of course, good luck this year guys.
