You offered logic.........does that work with TSSAA?

It sure could. Depth is the small schools nemsis. They have a few that could play anywhere, but only a few. The rest play hard and give you all they have. Small schools might one or two that could run the 4.5 or 4.6 40, the rest are average. Where as the bigger schools have 5-8 in that area. Speed all over on defense also. Injuries can absolutely kill a small school for a season. Schools like Lewis with around 500-550 (as stated earlier) just can't match up if they have injury to the key players. The other side of the coin is the point you bought up. Does this help the Giles, Marshalls etc. playing down to these smaller schools during the year? It can't help. Sure they will have improved records but at what cost. Don't you just love the wisdom of the TSSAA.

Any news out of S. Fulton. Has the number of players increased this year? After last year being such a positive, was wondering the response now. S. Fulton has a 1st class coach. Like to know any updates on the program this year and what the feelings are for this coming year and the new schedule.

How many players did they have last year? How many are out this year? Sure hope they get someone fast.......time is running. They still haven't won a game yet, isn't that right? Wish nothing but the best for the players. Hope things settle down quickly. Good luck!!!!!!!!

Sure is sounding a lot better than it has. Progress is being made it would appear. Everyone is stepping up it sounds like. I guess when the spring games take place it will give everyone a better picture. The numbers are diffently showing good signs. 4 over 300 is awesome for a such a small school. What are you feeding those boys in Lewis. Whatever it is........keep it up. 101.......are those dates set for sure? 1st and 2nd week. Let me know.........going to try and come down and watch. That is VERY impressive. Any speed surfacing? Reading the post there was a concern of lack of speed. How many total is set to play at this point. Lewis must eat, drink and breath football. What are you feeding those boys down there.....lol. Whatever it is I wouldn't stop. Congrads to all the players that hit the 300 mark, That is a tough number for young hs boys to get. It sure sounds like Lewis is putting in the effort, no doubt about it. Going to need everything they can get with the new district. Its going to be tough , but with the coaching and effort.......look forward to seeing how Lewis does this year. Keep up the hard work.

I wouldn't think Lewis would overlook anyone. I looked at last years results, and the toughess game that I seen (by score) was MTP. I understand that Lewis pulled it out at the end of the game. So I would think that no one in Lewis would assume anyone is going to be an easy game. Lewis has a tough road ahead of them Big Challenge. But by reading some of the post here, the effort is being put out. I have seen predictions on here for next year, anywhere from a 4-6 record to a 8-2. As said , it is hard to guess how this years team will do. But ............it won't be from lack of effort by both coaches and players. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do with all the new issues (graduation, new schedule, lack of experience etc.). This year will show what Lewis county is made of ......! Good Luck!

Still no word on spring games yet?

From what I hear things are going good up this way. Hope that when someone post the spring games I can make it. Like to see the 09 version of LCHS. So much written and talked about, want to see for myself how they look. Keep me updated. Thanks.

Are these for sure? Do you know when? Either of them pass much. So many in Lewis new schedule does. CPA would be a good one for Lewis. Lewis does have a few studs from what I have been hearing. I would like to see these players on the field. If you can give dates it would help so I can make arrangements to be able to see them. I keep hearing a few names such as Graham, Sherman, Couch, Sparkman and their new QB. How is the linemen looking? Any of them stepping up in the workouts and attitude?

Talked to a friend of mine over Lewis way and he said that he was getting excited on this team now. He told me that the backfield listed earlier would be something to contend with. He said that team was coming together with the attitudes and effort by some that others didn't think would come around. Said the kids are getting excited about spring games and the season. Said that this group was a lot closer as a team overall that previous. Which is good to hear, cause with the schedule everyone needs to be on the same page. Really sounds positive over there. Also told me that they had some speed developing, which they certainly will need. He believed the defense might be their greatess strength next year. Everything is sounding better for Lewis in their rebuilding year.........who knows it could become a reloading year! As said........Great Coaches and Great Kids=winning!

8 out of 10 on this years schedule all where playoff teams last year........very impressive schedule. One of them from last year that didn't make it, Springhill, should be in the hunt for a playoff spot this year. I know the people in Lewis are wondering how well they will compete against a much tougher schedule. I think with the coaching and the effort......the answer.......Very well! The more you read about it........the more you believe they can. If the kids start believing in themselves.......it just might happen. Keep hitting it hard........going to take everything you have.......no fridays off this year. No more Loretto's, Richland etc. Every Friday is big game night. The coaches haven't changed........only the players. Its up to the players to take the challenge. Good luck.........don't take your foot off the pedal.....hammer it down!

Just read about Giles and their speed in the 40's. Very impressive. Going to be hard to match up with them. Speed and Strength. Plus the numbers in student population vs. Lewis, Hickman etc. Tough assignment for those schools. Giles not far from doubling student population. But all the old 6AA schools won't lose because lack of effort. It sounds like there is a lot of effort being put out in the off season by all of them. If EHHS and Fairview can get things settled down it will sure help the players focus. Big job ahead of all of them!

ACLU............they have lost the beginning of what they are about. They can intimidate just about everyone.......because most can't afford the cost to defend the rights. They can break small communities, school systems etc. It's so sad seeing how the country has changed. Values are left up to the powerful, not the people. The majority of the people still have the morals etc. But the wishes of the people are being ignored. Its hard to find Americans anymore without a title. Democratic American, Republican American, Mexican American, Afro American. What happened to just plain ol' American. No prayer for those who wish...........just sad!

thats impressive. Strength and speed. Everyone better watch out. Not many in their district I would say could match up with either. As others have said, their district is theres to lose. I sure don't see many able to stay with them.

Haven't seen or heard anything about S. Fulton. I was wondering when and who they have their first scrimmage? How are the numbers this spring? Weight program coming on? Good Coach up there. Nothing but the best for all involved in the program! Appreciate any info. anyone might have. Thanks in advance!

What are the totals based on..........? How many on a team made up the totals? How many competed from each team. Pretty darn good numbers.

Be tough for him to earn a starting spot. He would be behind so many that have been there during the time he was gone. Even with a lot to talent, there is a lot of catching up and learning to do. If he could get caught up would have a shot. There is a lot to the game besides the just hitting. Need to learn to read etc. But have to agree all the players LCHS can get this year will certainly help. So many good things here about LCHS. Coaches and players will have to be on the same page. Go get em' Lewis

Rebuilding with a great effort and attitude so far. Sounds like LCHS is on the path to a good season. Everything is there it sounds like!

It doesn't appear to be calming down at EHHS/Fairview. Really hate to hear it for the players, the deserve much better, especially those seniors. Sounds like Lewis is working real hard. Haven't seen much coming out of Hickman , seen good numbers of players though. Going to be a very interesting District to watch. Have to agree Giles is the favorite, Springhill and Marshall both should contend well. Lewis with rebuilding is a question, but it seems they have the talent, just lack experience. Fairview and EHHS...really hard to even guess how it is going to turn out for them this coming season.

First off ....sure is good to come to a board were there isn't all the fussing going on. I have been reading so many boards with so much of it. So many coaching changes with so much disagreement. This one seems to be civil. From following this one from the beginning the messages have been getting more positive each time. It does appear that Lewis is rebuilding from the original question. That being said it appears that the questions prior are starting to be answered. Sounds like the offseason lifting is going excellent, good numbers coming out. Leadership I believe will surface. The number of Players that have come out is very impressive, considering the small number of total student body. Very Very impressive. This appears to be one of those season that could very special for the community. There are some awful big shoes to fill, based on graduation loss. The lack of experience is a tough one to overcome, but with hard work the confidence can built. Leadership will surface, that I am sure of. The seniors will step up and take this as a challenge. Reading about this groups past, I am sure it will show up! The line seems to be the only question with so much lost. The skilled positions seem to be there. The speed seems to be there, and reading the numbers in the weight lifting certainly seems to be there. Going to hard to replace the level of linemen I have been reading about, and the QB. Big shoes to fill. But with the excellent coaching and effort being put out, LCHS has a chance to have a memorable year for themselves, coaches and fans. Wish nothing but the best for all the players/coaches/community. The pieces are on the table, its just matter of everyone working together and putting the pieces together. It isn't a challenge, but a path for success! GOOD LUCK!

Strength to weight ratio....wow. Is the linemen starting to show, I think after all that has been written is the question of the linemen, both D and O. If that comes together it looks like Lewis we be back to their old form, even with the tough new schedule. Hope the young men keep on hitting it hard. They can shock everyone. Might not be a rebuilding year...but a reloading. Hope so for LCHS. DDaddy..any info. would be appreciated, you seem to be on the inside.....let me know what you hear. BTW..how does the speed look for LCHS this year? Is it starting to surface? Who is scheduled for the spring game, and when.

What does he weigh? He a senior? What position does he play/played? Have to agree with stat.....sounds positive for LCHS.
