  1. Well while most Milan fan are a class act it's a shame one sitting on the liberty side decided to leave a give us the bird on her way out. Tech 28 Milan 10 9 min left.

Well I am in NO way condoning her actions, but if she was sitting down where I was near the student section (had we known this we would have chosen a different section) the chants of "take your #### back" not only to our cheerleaders while they were coming over to support our band, AND to our fans, I can see why she displayed such action. And these kids were literally in adults faces yelling at them. I feel issues like this should be addressed and shut down by the AD!

But the sportsmanship shown on the field, which is where it counts most, was exceptional. It was an exciting 4th quarter to say the least.

  2. The bus is owned (or was...he had it for sale but idk if he ever actually sold it) by a well known businessman in town. It's made a trip or two to Pittsburg, but usually spends most of its time sittin around! Lol

As far as wearing their gear, I have two theories to offer, and you can pick the one you like best....

A.) They are big Steelers fans...so they wear their gear. There are alot of them in the world...quite a few around here as well...

B.) It's their gang colors / ties. We have alot of gang ties in this area....and it's moved further than just the Crips and the Bloods and their red and blue. NFL, NBA, NASCAR teams, these all have potential to represent gangs now days.

So you take your pick what truth you wanna believe! :)

  3. Oh, I know very well--from a youth spent playing on several losing teams (for which I had no excuse like my opponents were "open zone" or "private"--simply that some of my teams were BAD) how to lose as graciously as win. I will gladly say, as I have written on here on other threads, that Grace earned its win over CAK and so did Lavergne. My comments about those games were, as you probably know if you read my post honestly, simply to put in context someone else's opinion that Maryville would easily beat CAK in a hypothetical matchup because CAK had lost a couple of season games.

The poster that you're taking up for, thedawg, earned every bit of scorn he has received on this site. There's a big, and obvious difference between whining/being a sore loser and honestly assessing a game after the fact. Please don't nit-pick my post and try to lump me in the same category with him. Thanks.

Actually, I wasn't taking up for anyone. My comment towards your post was based on the criticisms I received from numerous posters (not necessarily CAK fans) after my analysis of Milan's performance Friday. Don't reckon I lumped you into any category, I was just making a generalized statement....but guess since I'm a Milan fan, we're not allowed our open honest opinions without being criticized and called sore losers. Everyone else can...just not us Milan faithful......

  4. oh yeah. those forfieted games weren't milan's fault. they were the kids family fault for not telling coach morris that even though they rented a house in milan they still owned a house in jackson and coach marley from usj sold that to tssaa. that's why when the coleman kid moved to milan all the i's were dotted and t's were crossed before he even stepped on the practice field.another example of how powerful the private's are. not just on the field but with persuasion also. :thumb:

I wonder why we had to forfeit those games?!?!? Oh that's right....we're not an open zone school! Silly me....those Alcoa fans almost had me convinced otherwise! :thumb::roflol:

As for the CAK losses to Grace and Lavergne, I will not offer excuses but rather explanations.

Be careful with those explinations...as Milan fans have been told, just admit you were beaten by the better more talented team. :thumb:

  5. You have seriously got to be kidding me... Bear Bryant couldn't have coached that Milan team to a win today. I love how Milan fans blame Morris for every loss. Just admit your team was dominated top to bottom by better talent. Period, end of story.

You know, I was gonna be done with my original post for the season, but I couldn't pass this one up. First let me say, I have grown up with Milan football, not as a sport, but as a way of life! I've known Tucker, Bland, and Morris Milan Football! I lived it for five years while I was out there busting my butt every Friday night, under appreciated by the fans, but still there kick off to buzzer, in the band. I KNOW Milan football....and I would be willing to bet my next paycheck that in some media about today's game, Jeff Morris himself will step up and admit that this game was lost because of a COACHING FAILURE!!! Did I ever say CAK didn't deserve the win??? Nope....did I ever say Milan wasn't dominated by better talent??? Nope...but you didn't see Milan's TRUE talent shine through tonight! #29 was limited on carrying the ball...especially in the first half. Why?...play calling by the coaches....coaching failure. #3 only had one big breakout run...why?...play calling...coaching failure...eh oh and he got hurt but play calling was a big part too. Please go back and read ALL the posts from during the game...Fairview and CPA fans made mention many times that this team was NOT the team that beat them in weeks prior!! So YOU have seriously got to be kidding ME if you think coaching failures didn't have anything to do with the loss today!

I love how all these Milan haters come out of the woodworks when we lose to a team that NO ONE else in 3A could touch either!

  6. First off...congrats to CAK for your first state title game and victory! If my Dawgs have to tote the silver back to the west, I'm more than proud that your team gets to make their first trip back up the mountain with the Gold! I pulled for y'all many times against Alcoa because of families ties at CAK. So congratulations Warriors.

With that being said...this is NOT the team I have watched the past few weeks...but it's the team that showed up today. Unfortunately, I think the loss today was a complete and utter coaching failure! I'm beside myself as to why we wait until the fricken state championship game to try to be a passing offense! Blows my mind...

I know the haterz are gonna hate...but the way I look at it...y'all didn't even get a door prize for your efforts! So I'll gladly tote my silver ball back to the west...and proudly decorate my purple and white tree with silver balls!

As far as private vs open zone vs public...doesn't really matter because Milan is gonna play whoever, whenever and give it their all! Tradition NEVER Graduates...and something Alcoa...CAK...not even Maryville can say is that they have the tradition of Milan! 29 consecutive years of being in the Tennessee state playoffs....after next year we'll make that 30! So until next year...BullDawgGirl03 out! GO DAWGS!!!

  7. Well we're headed up this mountain....I'm getting exited and nervous at the same time! Hope for an injury free game on both sides of the field! Let's go Dawgs!! Bring that gold ball back to the west where it belongs!!!

    GO DAWGS!!!!

  8. I noticed the same thing. #29 is the big bruiser with speed and #3 looks to be more of a scat back style of runner with great speed. Looks like they will use #3 as a receiver as well. I believe #29 plays MLB also..

We like to refer to the two collectively as Thunder (# 29) and Lightening (# 3)! It might be difficult to defend the pass....but y'all are gonna have a time stopping Thunder and Lightening!

    Go Dawgs!

  9. I can't speak about the radio announcer, but I've never heard a PA announcer actually lead the home team cheers. Not just a hearty home team announcement, but getting on and cheering go,go,go......

I don't remember him ever actually chanting "go, go, go", but he did start a defense chant many times....and after some of the schools we have played at this season, our announcers style is MILD! Especially compared to Fairviews and South Gibson...just a couple that come to mind quickly.

As for the radio announcer....if some of you don't like his style...or favoritism towards Milan...then I'd suggest you should probably turn and listen to CPAs station......oh wait that's right, they don't have one and apparently since Milan is still on 'dial up', you couldn't get your fancy dancy video thread to work. Guess you'll have to just wait for the outcome to pop up on CoachT!

One thing about it....our dial up systems and 'Homer' announcer will be sittin in Cookeville this coming Friday afternoon at 3:30 with a packed house of Purple, while your fancy video thread will be broadcasting a lovely instructional video on how to winterize your field house! :roflol:

Now that the smack is outta the way...GREAT defensive game!! Neither offense could really get things started, but these are def. the two best defenses in 3A in the state! Milan's D just made more plays tonight! CPA, it was a pleasure to host you at the Pound...I did find it kinda funny when I overheard three CPA ladies talking in the restroom during halftime about how worried they were because "Milan wasn't supposed to be that good".....interesting theory there after 29 consecutive years of TSSAA state playoff apperances. great game, that had my BP up and had me worried most of the evening! Best of luck to you guys next year, and hope we get to meet again in the future! :)

State Bound Dawgs!!! Practice hard, stay focused, and most importantly....BELIEVE!! :thumb: See y'all in Cookeville!!!

  10. It's ignorant people like you that make Milan look bad. You are a disgrace to your town. This is why Fairview hopes CPA smacks Milan in the mouth next friday. Milan is a great ball team, no doubt, but Fairview could have won the game if you take out the stupid mistakes.

You're right.....Fairview COULD have won....if Milan hadn't blocked a punt and scored off of it....intercepted the ball and scored off of it....recovered a fumble and scored off of it......but all those mistakes DID happen. Why?? Because you were playing MILAN!!! You can make all the excuses you want, but IF Fairview is better than that...then they simply choked under the pressure of playing a powerhouse like Milan! Either way, it never really was a close game. Fairview scored first...then gave up THREE unanswered TDs in the first quarter. You scored right before the half....and once more in the 4th against our 2nd and 3rd string. You wanna talk disgrace, how about your coaching staffs 'pep talk' before the game where he stated, "we got two more after tonight, and we already know who is gonna win tonight".

And FYI, most fans...with the exception of you....have wished Milan well against CPA.

  11. Mr. Appleton better get his foot ready, cause I see this as possibly being a LSU vs. BAMA situation....battle of the field goals. I hope CPA won't be scared of #3 like Fairview was, and will actually kick deep. If that's the case, I see #3 'Lightenin' breaking one early and getting down to the red zone, where we'll give it to #29 'Thunder' and he'll pound it in the house!!! Imma say final will look something like 16-10 in favor of my Dawgs!

:hungry: Dawgs are hungry as well Mr. DenKeeper.....and a hungry dawg is a dangerous dawg.....just remember that!

Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving, and hope you CPA fans have a safe drive out west!!! See y'all Friday!

  12. Milan I'm pulling for y'all to bring the gold ball back to this side of Nashville!! Good game tonight. Enjoyed seeing the huge crowd y'all brought! Do work! If u get pass CPA smack CAK in the mouth!

Thanks, always nice to know our former opponents are pulling for us! Also, huge crowds is one of many things Milan is known for! We travel very well, no matter the distance! We usually tend to be more vocal and into the game at away games like that too! I guess it's the close proximity we all sit in! Haha. Btw...your announcer is probably the most annoying person on the planet!! Lol

Congrats to my dawgs! Now stay focused, practice hard this week, and let's play some more Dawg Ball Friday night and take our seat at the ship!!!

  13. Medina fans, bring your leftover Halloween candy to

the game and watch the NIGHTMARE ON BAIRD STREET!!!

Ha, not even gonna lie. I chuckled out loud on that one!! LoL first game was packed with lots of hype! I think SG has lost some steam the past couple of weeks and are getting tired. I think it's a good first half, but Dawgs come out the 2nd half and control the game! Congrats to SG for making the playoffs your first varsity season!!! You have definitely made a name for yourself in West TN!

Time to get the hornet spray started at Johnnie Hale!! I myself will just be happy to have a seat where I will be able to see the game this go 'round!!! GO DAWGS!!!

  14. "He was down." That is news to me, since a picture has surfaced that shows the opposite. TSSAA may have already seen the picture-I hope so. You know, you said it is Wednesday and Covington needs to stop dwelling-well it is hard to STOP dwelling when certain people continue to want to rub it Covington's face. This has NEVER been about Milan-it has EVERYTHING to do with the officating UNTIL you trashed our coach, our fans and our school (not teaching respect). My motto is: you can say ANYTHING about me, do ANYTHING you want to me, BUT, you leave my family and friends OUT of it. Covington and THE Chargers are my family and my friends -and I will take up for them at the drop of a hat, just as you have with Milan.

In response to how old someone should be before they can post? You keep referring "Oh child." You use 03-may I assume that you graduated in the Class of 2003? If so, that makes you between 25 and 26. You also stated that high school plus 1 is old enough to post-may I assume you have have a high school degree and 1 year of college or trade school? This is a good thing-you also said you worked, that's another good thing. Just want you to know if my assumptions are correct-I have worked LONGER than you have been on this EARTH-34 years to be exact. Now that does not make me smarter or better than you-just wanted you to know that the posts are not high students. :thumb:

Never in my life.....You are a bloomin fricken idiot!!!! First off, Jeff Morris himself said in the paper that NO one...not Milan, not Covington, not any news paper has any viable evidence to show him being down or good. Secondly, show the frappin picture to TSSAA...to the governor....to the president of the United States, it doesn't really matter because it will NOT change anything!!! Third, I never trashed ANYTHING about Covington! It was YOUR fan who first bashed the educational system of Milan because of my 'spelling errors'...and as YOU say...Milan is my family, my alma mater....I now and forever BLEED purple, and I will stand for them until the end!!! You dove in to this thread head first speaking some nonsense about Milan fans laughing at a hurt kid....oh wait I'm sorry Young Man. You should be ashamed yourself for even claiming such a ridiculous thing! I'm sorry but he is not extraordinary for getting up every Friday night after an injury. ALL these kids do that!!! They ALL get up and brush themselves off and go again! They play with broken arms, hurt backs, concusions! He is a brave young man for what he does week in and week out.....but he's not extraordinary for it. At first I thought you were the kids cheerleader girlfriend....maybe you're his momma...idk! Either way your way too emotionally involved! This is HIGH SCHOOL football....these are high school kids!

As for the age...I think it should be high school DIPLOMA plus one day! Meaning one day after graduation you can join to be a poster. But...if you are indeed 40-50 something...maybe I should change that to "just not a fricken idiot". You have done nothing but made us both look like idiots....you for well just your posts in general, me for arguing with you about the nonsense!

You've not been here long....8 posts to be exact....you need to toughen up, learn a few things about football and then come back and join us next year!!!! And as for your "no one knows what would have happened" ....I do in fact know exactly what would have happened....COVINGTON WOULD HAVE KICKED THE BALL BACK TO MILAN....with PLENTY of time on the clock to possibly score. How do I know that you ask??? Well basically bc I LIVE for football....and well it's a basic rule...you score, you kick off.

So please, for the love of football....go watch Remember the Titans....Google it...something, but learn the basics before you get on here acting like you have a clue what's going on!!! :thumb:

  15. Final ?. Haven't gotten an answer, hasn't been asked or reported in discussion. What was the correct call? regardless of who called it, overruled/not overruled etc., what refs saw/didn't see & etc or how they came to conclusion..Did they get it right in the end? I'm not asking this believing or insinuating one way or another, it's just been a discussion on the response to the way it was made. Refs do make mistakes(individually & jointly) coaches, we all do. Was knee down or did he score? It was a 2pt conversion correct? so TD or no TD? Good or no good?

It's not college, or NFL with numerous cameras everywhere to go back and look. We'll never know. Covington fans will say good, Milan will say no good. Personally from my view and angle, looked like he was down at the 2 1/2 yard line. The Jackson Sun reported he was down at the two yard line. According to a previous post from a Covington fan they have a picture...so who knows. Truth of it all, that play would NOT have won them the game. They would have kicked the ball back to Milan, who still had plenty of time on the clock, and a kicker with a 43 yard fg this season under his belt, or they would have tried an onside kick (which they did and were unsuccessful) and Milan got the ball on their 40 something yard line. Milan at that point was in clock burning mode, had they been tied, they would have gone into score mode.

It's Wednesday, time to move on and stop dwelling! Covington can try their revenge in Week 9 of the 2012 season.

  16. thedawg44-why are answering for BullDawgGirl03? Oh, I forgot, high school students should not be allowed to post on CoachT!

Sorry, been busy at work...not been in high school for a few years now, but as for your question....anyone should be able to read and be on the site. Posting age should be high school diploma +1!! JMO!!

  17. I don't get it! I'm trying to figure out the fantasy world you guys are in where it is ACCEPTABLE for a HEAD COACH to walk 20 yards on to the field, YELLING, trying to physically FIGHT with a TSSAA official, and cause the game to be stopped for 5 minutes or more!!! Milan's police department had to stand guard over Covington's sideline!

Maybe that's why Milan is good year in and year out....maybe we're just taught to a higher standard idk....but where I come from, that is UNACCEPTABLE behavior!

  18. A hurt child! That was NOT a child-BUT-a fine young man, who has more than once this season, gotten up and brushed his injury off to be there for his team mates and it takes a TRUE man to do that-that is what separates boys from men and men from heroes! I do know how things work in football-the official who was right in clear view of the play called it correctly, BUT- the one who COULD NOT see it OVER RULED him. I know this for a fact-when the two officials discussed it-the one who called it told the other one-that the play WAS good-BECAUSE he SAW it. That's ALRIGHT-Covington HAS nothing to be ashamed of and we will continue to be STRONG! As for your judgement towards Covington Schools not teaching respect-how respectable are YOU for thinking that? If that's what YOU consider repect-I want NO part of it!!!!

<_< *sigh*. You are all children....you're still in high school....it's not a put down. This is exactly why I think this site should be for the adults.....
