  1. Well now Butchie. That just wouldnt be our style. We like em' close!!! We may have to meet under that there flag pole this time around... as long as that dang train horn aint blastin my ears out!
  2. Also, theres some rumors running around from the folks down in selmer.. After watchin the film to be sure... We scored four times on varsity, yall scored once. AND... starting fights and talkin trash does nothin but insight a legal butt whoopin!
  3. Well, I aint a McKenzie fan, but yall are always my pick to win out of the west. The Lions are lookin good, we still got Washington who wont be tied down to just QB this year with J.J. Tomlin stepping in. The line is a little young, but the backs and recievers are battle tested. I think we should win more than five games this year. Maybe one of those could be the Rebs!!
  4. I do what i can and show when i can. I kind of like our friendship the way it is... Heck if we met we'd probably hate each others guts. Jk How them Rebs lookin this year?
  5. TCA goes to Selmer for a spring scrimmage versus McNairy Central Thursday May 12, 2010. With the baseball team losing yesterday, the Lions will dress out nearly a complete roster. The question is whether coach Hodum will play the baseball guys tomorrow or not.
  6. Amen, my point exactly. Memphisfootball, thanks for your compliments of coach Hodum, not every TCA fan is oblivious to the work he has done. I am honored to have him at TCA and I beleive in the end, the blessing he has been to the players off and on the field, will far outweigh anything he will ever do as a coach in eternity. Thank you Coach Hodum.
  7. No one here should be criticizing Coach Hodum and his staff for the results of this year, even though they will be the first to tell you they deserve it. The best thing to happen to TCA football over the past six years has been Coach Hodum. Someone commented earlier about parent support. TCA has NONE! Riverside brought more fans than TCA did to the game friday night. TCA coaches had to run around and practicly beg people to work the chains last friday. Its hard for a coach to stay focused on the sidelines and in practice every week when he's having to worry about the middle school team, the highschool team, painting the field, the broken P.A. system, who's going to work the chains, and what volunteer coaches are going to show up to help! I gauruntee you Brian Stewert at JCS or Wade Comer at McKenzie aint running around before a game asking people to work the chains! Because they got parents that do it for them. Parents that care enough about the team to leave the comfort of their arm chair and step up and serve for the good of the team. If TCA parents want to watch a team that consistantly wins and competes for region and state titles then they are going to have to get on board. Get involved, go to Hodums office and ask him if you can help. He would love to have you! If you look at the top notch HS football teams in our area and state the talent level isnt that much better than TCA's, the coaching is probably worse, and the parents are more involved and the school backs them financially(i.e. pays their coaching staff and doesnt over work the ones that they do) If you are looking for someone to blame for TCA's 3-5 record right now, take a look at yourself. Ask yourself what you could have done to make a difference in the players lives? Michael Hodum does it every day. Sometimes we as a Christian school get a self righteous attitude and forget about one of the most important things Christ did, he SERVED others!
  8. You mean, went for a walk in the park...
  9. I bet Riverside had 400 yds on the ground tonight... and the games not over. 40-14 w/ 5 min left. Coach Maxwell has been the difference in the game thus far imo, the panther defense has completely shut down the TCA offense and the Panther offense has been able to sustain long physical drives that have worn down the smaller Lions.
  10. And If You Build It He Will Come! And all God's people said... Amen. Hey Butchie, you didnt get run out of Jackson with pitchforks and torches last week in my absence did ya?
  11. TCA comes off yet another close loss to a top notch team to play a Riverside team that has won 5 in a row. Lets make no mistake here Lions, Riverside is for real! The last four games they have dominated their opponents and they beat a Dresden team like a drum friday night that has improved alot over the last year. Riverside also has a secret weapon in their defensive coordinator Coach Maxwell. He coached at TCA up until the middle of the summer this year and is very familiar with the TCA coaches and players. We were very upset to lose him to Riverside this year, but he has the Panther D playing well and I wish only the best for him. Whats everyones thoughts on the game?
  12. Oh yea, thoughts on the game... Well darn this one is too close to call. I look at McKenzie and i see a team that only knows how to win. When i look at TCA i see a team that never quits, they will have to be scrappier than ever tonight. I think this game could be one of those knockdown, slugfest, heavyweight fights for a while, however, i can definatly see one team pulling ahead in the second half. turnovers will play a huge part in this game IMO. Good luck to both teams...
  13. Game day! Sorry I cant be there for this one. Good luck to my Lions!! Safe travel to the game Rebels, leave a little early and take it slow with the weather being like its supposed to be tonight.
  14. Hahahaha well well, so you think you know me! Guess you will have to wait to meet me some other time folks. Im not going to make the game this week because ive got tickets to the Tennessee Georgia game this weekend and i aint driving up early in the AM Saturday for that one! I really hate to miss the Rebels and Lions play, but maybe the VOLS can pull an upset Sorry Butchie, maybe we can arrange a meeting come playoff time! Lord Willing! In regards to the game, TCA will have trouble with McKenzie but i cant pick against the lions. McKenzie goes up early but TCA scraps through for a 28-21 victory... (Butchie, go ahead and cook the crow just in case, ill get it from you later)
  15. Ok, im tired of hearing about the Cardinals not getting respect. Im not going to say im sorry, TCA has never gained any respect until maybe, MAYBE a little this year. To be honest, its just respect for Jabriel, and for good reason. Ill say TCA 28 A'ville 14 Good luck to both teams come friday!
  16. Good game here. You may have played two or three "game changing" players, but Jabriel is SEC caliber and i just dont see you holding TCA's offense(which has alot more than #1) to only 10 pts. Ill post a prediction score later.
  17. Hey Butchie... congrats on yall's win! We got one too this week. cant wait to see our two teams meet up again in a few weeks, should be a good one!
  18. Washington holds SEC offers from every school except florida if im not mistaken and other d1 schools. He has always been a huge Georgia fan but he and his family are very aware of how important the decision will be when and if the time comes. Lord willing he will stay healthy and get better, and have that awesome opportunity to play SEC football. Where? IDK. I hope it is Ole Miss, he would be perfect in that Wild Rebel offense the Rebels got going. He will most likely play DB or WR wherever he goes, the kid has a nose for the ball and great hands.
  19. Cant wait for this one. Union City's fired up and now you've got TCA fired up. HS football at its finest! Remember folks, this is a message board, sure kids and coaches read it, but its fans opinions. Let the kids do the trash talkin with their play on the field. Thanks for the apology BigSwo, UC and TCA both have fine reputations in West Tenn.
  20. Ha yea i hear ya Butchie, I aint lookin that far ahead. After all, we got Tornado warnings in Jackson this weekend!
  21. McKenzie 35 Humboldt 13... Long night for a less efficient Humboldt team. McKenzie will enforce their will on defense IMO
  22. Just for the record it was 42-0 in that playoff loss. Anyway, i think this is going to be a shootout for sure, UC and TCA both have exceptional offenses and TCA's defense aint too bad either. Ill say TCA 41 Union City 35. Show em' what you got Lions!!
