Briarcrest - 2 Hutchison -3 Very fast paced game to watch with plenty of opportunities on both sides. Some defensive mis-communication caused Briarcrest to give away a half time lead. Briarcrest had some excellent opportunities that went just side or to hands. Hutchison had a lot of speed up top and didn't take any chances defensively.

Yes....I thought that these were done on Saturday mornings after SpongeBob was on....was the show not on and it messed up the timing?

Let's all pray Olivia is Ok..... Don't know details. X rays came out OK....but may have a cracked rib....lets all pray for a speedy recovery for Olivia....she is an AWESOME Houston forward! The fields were pretty saturated with many girls having issues with footing. 18 days out of 23 days with lots and lots of rain....not pretty and very dangerous.

Briarcrest - 4 Houston - 4 First half 2 to 1 to Houston with second half 3 to 2 for Briarcrest....exciting game!

Briarcrest - 4 Houston -4 Awesome game tonight. Very exciting play with wet fields playing havoc on both teams' shots. At any point, the game could have gone either way. Briarcrest came on strong 2nd half scoring 3 goals to Houston's two goals. First half score was 2 to 1 in favor of Houston. Second half was won by Briarcrest 3 to 2.

Hmmm...could I be right about St. Benedict? Guess time will tell. We all have games that we wish we could play over again....sounds like you had a tough game against Hutchison yesterday......3 to 0 loss from Hutch? They are not ranked with a record of 3-5-1 while SBA 10-1-1. Hutch has some good talent and is most likely under-ranked and has just had some unlucky games up until now....funny thing about soccer!

Briarcrest - 1 St Agnes - 5 St Agnes played a great game and Briarcrest watched them play it! St Agnes had great speed...that Briarcrest didn't match today. However, we were our own worst enemy leaving 3 girls completely unmarked for 3 of their goals. Luckily, the two teams will meet up again.

Now that "Dad" has moved the page, we just don't have the lively posts anymore! However....the list of the all tournament team is still great for folks to see! We can also continue to speculate on seasons that will be starting very soon....in late November! Wow...how time flies...wasn't it just yesterday that it was hot at the end of May and at the state tournament?!?!

Thanks Canes! I couldn't have said that better myself! Briarcrest has a tough two weeks coming up....just hope we can keep focused and show our stuff! Also hope that the weather cooperates.....possession play teams just don't do as well in the mud and rain.

It was interesting to read, but redundant (much like reading the "public private debate forum!). Not too much to talk about this year. I'm just waiting on the play off contest so that I can be crowned champion again!!! We tried to make the club debate as entertaining as possible for everyone and add humor for the readers! So...Plankton and Mr Krabs....do you have a name for BigG from Spongebob? Yes...don't have anything to talk about right now as Briarcrest has an off weekend......and Lobos aren't playing yet!

Briarcrest - 5 Arlington - 0 Good game for the girls....bench got lots of playtime tonight!

I didn't realize that I was in a fantasy world....I actually feel pretty stable most of the time. However, I really do like Fantasyworld when I go to Disney World! Anyway.....this is no fantasy....some really great players were chosen for the Katie Hunter All Tournament team...most of which.... are from West Tennessee!!

See dog at least someone gets my point. Next time I'll try to use smaller words. OK...I was hoping that this would go away. However, we still do not see your point. The players left MSFC on their own free will and came to Lobos...that is a FACT. It was not by default, but it was by choice to leave MSFC. I will say that it is possible that a few came over by default after the majority came over by choice...but majority rules on "choice" over "default". They had other options besides Lobos...they could have formed their own independent team under Koinonia such as GT United or Purple Rain, gone to TN Rush, or to Falcons, etc...but they chose to come to Lobos. As another option, they could have stayed at MSFC as the club has not disbanded.... Did they play for Lobos last year....no. Will they play for Lobos this year...yes.

Actually...yes the dog and I to talk outside of Coach T! I will fully make the appropriate comment replacement on the intial post as follows: Cool thing is that 17 of 22 girls on the list are from West TN and 13 of that 17 are now part of the Lady Lobos organization! Are we all happy now?????

Well...we are already on this fascinating pot stirring topic... If you look at soccer-in-college website, Kat Nigro is listed on the Brentwood roster....and if they added a few other additional talented players...it would make anyone have a difficult run at the title against them! But, of course, soccer is a funny sport...the team that plays the best and possesses the most doesn't always win. However, I had heard that the HFC/MSFC "merger" all came up AFTER tryouts as a way to have a team. I have heard mixed rumors on the HFC girls remaining...some say that they are the best that were on the team while others say that they were not the strongest that remains. Time will tell to see how they merge together and play. Should make for an exciting spring season as it all unfolds.

What's this got to do with Katie Hunter??? Good point! We either need to start a thread in the appropriate forum or table further discussion until Spring! Anyway.....congratulations to all of the Katie Hunter All tournament team honorees!

Last I had heard on the MSFC/HFC deal is that girls had left both clubs and both clubs needed each other....however, the right composition of players between the two could make for a strong team. I think that 4 or 5 girls from the MSFC roster decided to only play high school soccer while one did go to Lady Lobos 93, one to play with Brentwood '94, and one to play with an Alabama '93 team leaving around 11 girls left on the MSFC roster. The other thing that I had heard is that some of the HFC girls went to TNFC or decided to only play high school leaving them with a slim roster. Thus a soccer marriage made in heaven....or time will tell if it ends in divorce.

And you must be part of the "Lobos organization" because when you say "the fact that 9 girls moved to Lobos speaks volumes on what is happening to girls club soccer in Memphis", the implication is that these strong players have "chosen" Lobos, when the reality is that the choice, in many cases, is to play for Lobos or not play at all. My final word on the subject for you and soccermom is "disingenuous". The definitiaton of "disingenuous"... Adjective meaning either "withholding or not taking account of known information" or "giving a false impression of sincerity or simplicity". Not sure how you can describe H2ODog or me that way.....facts are facts regardless of why they are playing Lobos....reality IS that something caused these strong players to leave their current clubs by CHOICE. It is very simple....the players could play their old clubs or shift to other clubs during any tryout timeframe....no club dissolved in the West forcing the players to shift teams....it is very simple actually. No one was forced to come to Lobos tryouts. So, there was no withholding of information or lack of sincerity in the original comments....which is my final thought on the subject.

I don't think it's fair to imply that those 13 girls were trained by the Lobos organization, since at least 9 of them are coming to the Lobos from other clubs and have yet to play a game as a "Lobo". I didn't imply anything about training...merely stated a fact. This is a new season for all teams, but it speaks well for the Lady Lobos organization that the girls have chosen to play in that organization for the upcoming club season and were also highly regarded by the teams at the tournament.

Briarcrest - 2 Saint Benedicts - 4 Briarcrest gave up a 1 to 0 half time lead to a very aggressive SBA team. Briarcrest scored first in the 2nd half and then SBA scored with about 25 minutes remaining in the 2nd half and then SBA tied the game up with about 12 to 15 minutes remaining in the 2nd half. With 4 minutes remaining, a foul was called outside the box which was questionable as the entire game was played in a torrential rain and both girls appeared to have slipped going for the ball. SBA took a well placed direct kick on goal to go up 3 to 2. With seconds left, SBA scored their 4th goal. The teams will meet up again later in the season in hopefully better conditions.

I'm not sure how the rankings are calculated for Coach T; however, I do know that all of Briarcrest's games are reported on CoachT. There are about 8 games that have been played by Briarcrest that have not been reported to the Commercial Appeal where all of St Benedict's games have been reported. With that said, the ranking authorities have different data to consider in the rankings. I would guess that both assess the relative talent level of the opponent, and both would consider reported data. With one ranking body have all data versus one ranking body having incomplete data, it would be difficult to compare the rankings on an apples to apples basis.
