  1. Hope him the best. Good Luck Coach Rewis..
  2. Our scrimmage started off sloppy for both teams. Started with the 10 play and then change possesion. Our defense held them to 4th & 5 the 4th and 3 which would have been punting downs due to the field position. CC scored on a long pass a couple of downs later. We moved the ball down the field in our ten plays but failed to score. After the JV kids played a couple of series they changed it to game time situation (4 downs). We got the ball first and drove down the field and scored. Our defense played very well, I think CC only had 2 maybe 3 first downs. Our next few possesions we moved the ball but had a couple of turnovers. All & All it was productive but you could tell it was the first scrimmage of the year for both teams.
  3. Great post. I really don't care where he goes or what he does from here. I just wanted to say how I felt about the issue with Jon. I have said my peace now we can move on. I have been very pleased with the practices and the one scrimmage we have played so far. The coaches have been great. The kids are responding very well to what they are teaching and enjoying it. I love the way practice is so detailed and timed, everyone is so focused. Keep up the good work guys.
  4. I will say as a parent of a son that played for Jon Young, that he was one of the better coaches I have been around. He was well liked by the kids and parents, knows a tremendous amount of footbal & he showed a lot of spirit at practices and games. The kids played hard for him. A comment was made about him giving up on players and games last year. That is not a fair statment. I think what you saw was a person that had been lied to and dumped on. My opinion is that he was frustrated and bitter about the way he was treated. He never gave up on players he gave up on the Head coach. The one that hired him to be the QB coach and offensive cord. but then would not allow him to install his system or call plays. All he got to do was run scout "O" and work with QB's during drills. Which he done both very well. I think whoever gets coach Young will get a competitor, motivator and very good coach. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> GO MOUNTAINEERS..............
  5. Patton still has not showed me anything. May prove me wrong when he is a fifth year senior though. Thats funny...... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  6. Coach Young got the raw end of the deal last year. He was never given a fair chance at anything.
  7. I know they ar scrimmaging Heritage today at Heritage 7 pm. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  8. I know Tyler Edmonds is still in baseball, I don't know where the other kid that played last year Tyler Copland is. I also heard that a new kid was going to try out at QB.????? To be honest I don't know.
  9. Well, I will have to say I truyly enjoyed watching the first day of spring practice. It had to be one of the most organized, productive practices I have seen in along time. The energy was high and even heard a few pads pop.... Defense - looked pretty good, several new faces, and a couple still missing because of baseball. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Offense - For the first day, not to bad. Only working with one QB right now. The backs looked OK. O-line has good size. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Cant wait til this afternoon.............Day 2.. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  10. tpoole12, I hated to hear the bad news down there. In the long run you all may be better off, it just seemed like to me Meadows had to much baggage. I will say he can coach but who needs all the extra BS in there program. I hope you all get someone soon and a person that will be loyal to the pogram for a long time. Good luck Govs. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  11. Several of the kids have put in some hard work and made some geat gains, but you always have some slackers that have a lot of potential. For the most part it has been a very productive off season. I think he has started off on the right foot.
  12. It is correct. Not sure how this happened?
  13. Well, the players have there equipment and it's about that time. Monday will be the first official day of spring practice. I have heard a lot of excitment over the past few days from the kids. They can't wait to get started with the new coaches. The turn out for spring is the biggest number Heritage has had in along time. I heard somoone say it is about 70-75 kids. Should be a great spring? GO MOUNTAINEERS...........
  14. Its still Maryville, no matter how you look at it. They have tremendous tallent and of course great coaching. The road gets tougher in the playoffs but again it's still Maryville... Good Luck to the Rebels.
  15. I will agree, from everthing I have seen so far, it is better. As for winning and turning things around, I don't expect it to happen over night but I do expect it to happen. It will happen. I like the approach the new coaches are taking and the work ethic they put forth. If they can keep it up, only good things will happen. Two more weeks til Spring Practice. I can't wait.....GO MOUNTAINEERS....
  16. Tyler Robinson - TE/DE Alcoa Michale Cermak - RB/LB Heritage Philip Julin - QB Maryville
  17. Don't know a lot about them, except they are bringing a ton of excitment with them. Coach Waters is getting great resutls in the weight room and conditioning. I have heard they have more kids out than ever right now. I can't wait till spring practice to see the turn out. They have some good tallent and some wonderful athletes to work with, I hope they can get them all on the same page and work together. If that happens it could be a start to a good thing for HHS football. It's time.....GO MOUNTAINEERS......
  18. Is there any word on the rest of the coaching staff yet? I think I have a few of them. Russell - HC/OFF. Waters/West - OL/DL Hicks - LB Casteal - Def. Mac - Rec. Bradford - DB Tipton Bros. - RB
  19. Matt Cline was a player on the freshman team last year. He has had some very bad medical problems with his feet and ankles that will require some extensive surgery. We just want to wish him the best.... Thank you RebelRon, much appreciated.
  20. Did anyone find out the weight of the ball?
  21. I would like for all the Mountaineer supporters to say a prayer for one of our Freshman players. Matt Cline was one of the linemen on last years Freshman team. He struggled all season with problems with his feet, but he toughed it out and completed the season. Matt has recently been told that he will have to have major surgery on both feet to correct his problem. Both feet will have to be broken, bones will have to be removed, and plates & pins will be installed to hopefully correct his issues. The doctor said he didnt see how Matt played football or was even able to walk because of the amount of pain this type of problem causes. Not sure yet when the surgery will be, but please keep Matt in your prayers...... GOOD LUCK MATTHEW, we love you..... GO MOUNTAINEERS..... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  22. Yea, I'm don't think he will reach a 4.2, 4.5 maybe? The report I got is that Andy E. is turning out some good times and lifts. Thats good to hear, we need a corner that has some speed and quickness. What have some of the underclassman done so far?
  23. Now that you two have hashed it out, can we get back to the important stuff, like HERITAGE football moving forward with a new coach and staff. We need to get behind this program now more than ever and support everyone involved, new or returning. We have some talented kids out there and hopefully some great coaches. The way I see it things will get turned around and Heritage will win some games. There is a new attitude among the players and they are working there butts off in the weight room. eastTNfan , you have some good friends in the gang you named off, my advice to you is to push them to be better, work hard and respect their coaches. With you bad mouthing coach West is not a good start. If they here you saying the things you have said then they will not look a coach West as a leader and teacher of the team. So, be positive and stay supportive of the Mountaineers and lets get this thing on the right track. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
