  1. Funding should not be an issue with winning. If you have hills, perfect. Makes for great condition and running plays up hill. Field houses are great and state of the art weight rooms impress, but really it is not needed to win a couple games. To be honest, the first time we played against RBS, they were bigger and stronger than us, just coached poorly. It does not take money to teach fundamentals, to have kids run after practice, or to do push ups and chin ups. knights 2008 said it correct, LCA, the school itself has spent very little on the program, it was all money raised by the kids and coaches. They played flag football to learn plays, did pushups in an old shed, and begged the city to use a soccer field. they are not comparing themselves to Friendship or Trousdale, it was the posters that compared them to RBS.
  2. Clay County always has at least an average team. Average teams beat RBS by 4 TDs. People keep saying that RBS might sneek up on an overconfident team, that is bull. No team in TN wants to lose to RBS, if anything teams gameplan more for RBS than other teams. No kid wants to be on ESPN explaining why and how they lost or broke the streak of RBS. Teams always try to put RBS away early, because they know that once they go up by 1 or 2 tds, RBS quits. Sorry RBS, it looks like another winless year, even Mt. Juliet Christian is much improved from last year.
  3. I don't know that I would call LCA "cocky". I would take offense to someone saying that the worst team in TN could pick up a win against us. As far as regions go, LCA is not even in TSSAA yet. But they have beaten two teams from that region and could probably give Watertown, Monterray and Clay County a run for their money. Trousdale and Friendship have owned that region for a long time and I am sure that if you spoke with their coaches and players, you would see that it took time to establish it and those kids work their tail off. LCA football has been in existence for 1 and a half years and has already shot above the bottom of the barrell teams in that region. You can't always use the excuse of not having athletes because LCA could easily fall into that. If you are losing year in and year out, it is more than not having athletes. Like the coach from DeLasalle in CA said..."On gameday you don't just have a cape come from your jersey and play like superman, you have to work in the offseason and hit the weights".
  4. I didn't know I was on Red Boiling Springs T. Can someone tell Dawgs 2008 to hit the caps key on his keyboard, it hurts my eyes to read all caps. I am not trying to hate on RBS and surely would not want to be in their shoes but all the RBS love is getting out of hand. Maybe Walt Disney can be exhumed from the grave and write a story on RBS, call it the "Little Dawgs" and we can all feel better at night. The sad thing is people DO know the truth about RBS, not just fans and parents are registered on Coach T. Here is the path to winning RBS, hopefully your coach will read this 1. Teach fundamentals 2. Utilize the talent that you do have 3. Use a system that fits your team (RBS has used several offensive sets that were all terrible) 4. Weight train your #@$%#@ off in the offseason "Voluntary Workouts" 5. Recruit within your own school If you had done those 5 things, you would have beat MJCA, PC and possibly LCA last year. But I know that you do none of them well if at all. Hopefully you will read this and get offended, than upset, than follow what I am saying.
  5. Everyone hates the real truth. So here it is; on my trip to RBS as a coach, I noticed their weight facilities and they consisted of one old weight bench with about 20 pounds on it and a broken wooden baseball bat. There are plenty of programs out there that do work hard and don't win much like a Watertown for example, a solid team in a tough region, that works hard but doesn't win much. Go ahead and unleash the support for RBS but from what I have seen as a coach, they do not practice very hard, are out of shape, and not very well coached. They did give LCA a great game last year defensively. Their offense was atrocious. They are even worse this year and got beat by a horrible Pickett County team 6-0. LCA beat PC 38-0 and it could have been 70-0. You can post this all you want RBS DAWGS but momentum turns tides when evenly matched opponents take the field. The big MO will give way when two and three TDs' get hung on RBS and they pack their tents. LCA is a much improved program this year with an offense that is averaging nearly 30 points a game and a defense that has only given up five tds in 4 games! You can look at their schedule all you want but what you will find is that they play schools LARGER than they are and much more established. LCA is very well coached with an offense that suits their talents. How many first year programs go 5-5 and then start out 4-0 in year two. David Brainard was suppose to be a playoff team this year and got waxed by LCA 26-7. RBS has ZERO chance of beating LCA and ZERO chance of winning this year. I get tired of the "They have guts now they just need the glory" speech for RBS. They don't work hard, don't prepare well, and in turn do not play well. Those are the facts. Go ahead and hate all you want, its true! LCA 42 RBS 3 (against 2nd string)
  6. The smackdown in L town should be close, both teams are a dissapointing 0-3. I predict L-Town 44-6. Here are my three or four keys to the game: 1. Change out the can of spray freshener and set intervals to 10 instead of 15 minutes. 2. Set the DVR to record "My Name is Earl" 3. Again, get Dwight Yoakum to sing national anthem. 4. Play the game in L-Town If we can do all of this, we should come out a winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111
  7. could be tricky. Both were first year programs last year, and LCA has gotten much better after a year to learn and develop their system. Riverside had talent last year but LCA's defense was overwhelming. Very well coached and disciplined! I would expect a better game this year only because both are in the 2nd year of their programs but I still think LCA has an easy win here. The next test for LCA (not to look ahead) will be King's Academy. Riverside Christian and Red Boiling are on tap for the next two weeks and at least RBS looks worse if that is possible than last year. Go Knights!
  8. Just to clarify my #7 on the list, 32 was probably their best player. I hope that he is not seriously injured and my prayers are with his family. It will be difficult to set up the pass without such an athlete. Coach Greene did not approve this message and has nothing to do with my posts. He is too classy for most of my material. God Bless
  9. No, keep being vocal! It is fun to be vocal when you win. I have had to eat crow before on here but its ok. Just don't take anything too serious, really there are a group of clowns on here, me included.
  10. You have been a good sport wildcats 07, good luck in college. DBCS is headed in the right direction, it was just LCA's night. Those kids and coaching staff have worked very hard and deserved a good win like that against a good opponent. They really got hit hard with injuries last year and lost the entire second half of the season. Again, best wishes at UT-Chatt if that is were you are going, and best of luck to DBCS this year.
  11. Greatest wrestler of all time 1. Hogan 2. Undertaker 3. Andre the Giant 4. Ultimate Warrior 5. Rick Flair What do ya think??????????????
  12. Just got the call from Coach Greene, 26-7 was the final with LCA taking knees inside the 10 to end it and stop the bleeding. I said the best defense against a good offense is a solid run game which rang true this evening. LCA ran over 80 plays to keep DBCS off the field, including a 95 yard td drive! DBCS had two possesions in the 4th and both ended in picks. In true DBCS fashion I will make a list: 1. Let the excuses begin 2. LCA high school enrollment is less than 100. (they have played 8th graders) 3. DBCS is as bad as the rest of LCA's "competition". 4. The first game under the lights was a huge dissapointment. 5. LCA is the the 33rd NFL franchise. 6. NFL DB's must know nothing about stopping the run. 7. It's going to be a long hard road without #32 8. Dwight Yoakum didn't sing the national anthem 9. Remember to play the games before you count your W's 10. Hmmmm....finally what to say what to say?????OOOH it feels good to be sitting here right now ignoring my family to serve a heaping helping of crow.....Oh yes...Remember DBCS, like every other 1A team, is 1 or 2 injuries away from awful. Who is ignorant now!!!!!!!! OH, and let me say this...(an unoffical #11)who had the TD's called back this year???? Go Knights
  13. I called it last week. A huge buildup and predictions of beating G'Ville, now RBS is back down to earth. It was exciting while it lasted. RBS fans stay behind your team, the kids were excited.
  14. OH YEA, Hulkamania is running wild. Take your vitamins
  15. Here are my keys to the game 1. Let Dwight Yoakum sing the national anthem 2. No PB sandwhiches after the game 3. Leave a trashcan outback for recycled cans If Lavergne can do all three, we should come out a winner
  16. The real question is could Rick Flair beat Hulk Hogan in his hayday?
  17. OK let me try to address your post, you jump around more than a cricket on speed. Nobody knocked DBCS for supporting their school. I was called ignorant in this thread after I responded to DBCS fans saying that nobody could beat their team unless they were college or NFL. As a matter of fact, Vandy and Miss State are recruiting and LCA player right now. Oh by the way, you don't have to be stellar to play college football. God Bless
  18. Actually I do know for sure that DBCS was terrible in the past because I watched film and it was bad. And I am ignorant??? Saying that NFL and college teams are the only one that could beat DBCS, quit drinking the Kool-Aid because DBCS is a middle of the road program that is a couple of players away from being awful again. DBCS beat a bad Sunbright team and got waxed by Lookout Valley. SO before you guys hop into the SEC or AFC South, take the green pill with Neo and get back into reality. You have a small private school football team with a small enrollment. Come out to Rutherford County and play some of these public schools. We'll see if you are ready to take on teams at the college level. Get a life.
  19. You talk like your his father, you should know his measurables. There is no "I" in team!
  20. Lets not get to carried away. Its one thing to have pride in your school, its another to be ridiculous. DBCS is ranked in the bottom 300 schools in the state. I think 309 to be correct, out of about 325. I am sure that some middle school teams in TN could give DBCS a run for their money. LCA 32 DBCS 24 Good luck getting LCA's offense off the field tomorrow night Go Knights!
  21. Don't know much about Sunbright other than they lost to David Brainard. If it was even close with DB, Sunbright should beat Pickett pretty bad. Pickett has some injuries but more than that, they are just bad this year.
  22. I was a bit premature, that always happens. Apparantly Booker played last year in a couple of semi-pro games with the Memphis Bust or Cordova. TSSAA is looking into whether or not this violates any league policies. I thought it was all because of transfer or grades but the saga continues. "BOOKER 08"
  23. In that coordinator's defense, Coach Greene routinely humiliated him in front of the other coaches and I don't think he was emotionally ready for those games when it was 4th and 21 on their own 7 yard line and Greene calls no play don't move then calls a timeout.
  24. I am not going to reply to the whole marriage thing but I will talk football. Even if 8 teams won the state and they all ran the spread, that only represents the amount of teams that run the spread. If 90% of TN teams run the spread than surely they are likely to represent the state for a championship. The spread is an effective offense IF you have the athletes to run it. Sadly of those 90% only about 15% have the athletes. The rest count on triple reverses and half back passes and gimmick stuff because they cannot be fundamentally sound. MJCA ran the spread since their inception and have won less than 15 games in 8 years! Most coaches that run the spread do not focus on fundamentals, they spend all practice running plays and won't even focus on defence. The DW is an offense that is effective with less than stellar athletes and can keep teams competitive. If LCA tried to run the spread last year they would have lost every game. Also LCA switched to a smaller faster line this year and is 3-0. Last year we started losing games because of tougher competition but also we had an array of injuries.DON'T GET MARRIED. You don't even know what unconditional love is, it takes years to develop it not months, it is tested through hardships, and I am not talking about arguing over what movie to see. God Bless
