  1. The difference in this years HC team vs the team of the last two years is a stronger overall balanced team. I think this is an overall deeper team that requires everybody to step up instead of being able to put all the weight on Marsalis and Dominique. This results in the team being a more traditional type like the one 3 years ago. I think if HC will keep improving each week like they have lately, and will play ALL four quarters, this could be their year. It will most likely be a REAL battle Friday nite. If we don't click on all cylinders it could come to an abrupt stop. Should be exciting to say the least. What is Gallatin's record this year on the road, and who have they beaten on the road?
  2. You know, one of the most pathetic things I see on here is when a posters teams season ends early in the playoffs, and they cant break it to themselves to call it a year. Advise: you have a basketball team who I am sure would love to have your support now. Instead, you waste your and our time coming onto a thread you have no business on now. Anyway, good luck GreenWave, you've had and still have a great tradition and program. I appreciate the class you have been showing on the thread so far. But I am a Henry Countian and believe its finally the Patriots turn. Be safe on your drive over. GO PATS
  3. Being born and raised in Paris, I can assure you that if you go for the catfish at Knotts Landing you wont be disappointed. I have ate at Cindys as well(and it is very good), but I recommend Knotts. To find it, go the square, turn and go north on Poplar St. One block off the square.
  4. OK, now lets go PATS!!!! Its getting close to crunch time, and we all know that the last 3 years we've come close to have the season come to an abrupt halt with the "candy" just out of reach. This CAN be the year if you want it bad enough. No time for costly mistakes....focus...focus....focus, till that beautiful extra healthy large lady sings....lol. Go get em and don't let up till that gold ball is hoisted into the air!!!!! One game at a time...... Come on fans, don't wait till you are at the stadium.....start your rooting now. Tired of hearing about southerland or sutherland or myers or gossip or drama crap.....lets get the boys ready now!!!!!
  5. Boy, it sure is refreshing to have some worthy read material on the HC thread for a change. You people are cracking me up. But dont take me wrong, keep it up. We finally are staying on the first page lol. Now, for an important "game related" question......With the loss of Skylar, being that he wore many hats on the field, who do you guys and girls see filling his shoes in each role he played?
  6. Can you all not see what the Yanker is trying to do? He is smarter than most of you give him credit for. If you will recall, up till the fans began to start posting negative comments toward the team, the Yanker had become a big supporter of Henry County. As soon as we started stressing from a loss we are not used to having, we begin a pessimism that our team doesnt deserve. Yanker is trying to tell us(without directly telling us) to stop the childish, spoiled tantrums and get back on the horse and support our team. He finds this disgusting and frankly so do I. We never know who reads our comments on this site, and it just might me the players. The coaches are grown men, but we MUST remember the players are still kids. Being a coach(of another sport) that has had some success, I can personally account for times my teams play went south because of factors that occurred "off the field." Yanker, keep telling it like is so maybe all the fans will get their s@%# back together before negative psychology takes over.
  7. Nobody I know hateslosing more than me, but we have to swallow this pill and remember that sometimes a loss can be exactly what we need to keep us grounded and focused. Our program at HC is as top-notch as any in the state and we can thank our coaching staff for that. The best winners became that from the lesson of losing. Coach G will use this loss to a great advantage I have no doubt. Lets just be glad we lost now not later and hopefully be looked back upon later as a posiive.
  8. Can we count on you to be one of our out of town guests struggling to watch the game over the tops of 5 layers of heads in the standing area because there are no seats, hearing about "your" predicted huge upset from the PA announcer because you cant see? Come on out for this "NE win" you speak about, and hang out with maybe the one other person who thinks the same as you. No disrepect but fraid IT AINT HAPPENING!!!!!!
  9. If memory serves me right, they did put you guys in 6A and then you ran to get out of it! As soon as the numbers moved and you guys got put up into 6A you petitioned to not be in 6A. You have a great team. I saw you play last year against Hillsboro, but don't yell at people on here and say that crap that you will play whoever whenever type stuff when you ran from the challenge of moving up. I have been around sports in Henry County for many many years, and I have never seen any team in the county pursue an administrative decision in order to "run" from competition. If you were such an "expert" on Henry County you would remember last year when everyone was hoping and anticipating a matchup with Maryville in Murfreesboro. I hope we havn't forgot that we are on here for the players as the rest of us are just armchair quarterbacks anyway. The players are the ones who do the playing, not us, and the kids make no decisions within the TSSAA classifications. So, be careful in your use of the words "you guys." I can assure you there is no team in the state of Tennessee the players are afraid to play. And by the way, the posters from Henry County are well known on here for their assertive pride and opinions, and if you interpretation is that someone is yelling though their computers, maybe you are a little too sensitive.
  10. so west creek is made up mostly of previously NE students? are there many from KW or NW? just wondering. also - are they zoned? and what about a student that would have been a senior this year at NE - do they get a choice of staying at NE or going to west creek? I used to live in Clarksville and was told when living there that Fort Campbell Army base brings in numerous students of soldiers stationed there to the Clarksville area. Unfortunatly, many times the soldiers are reassigned to other bases and move their families accordingly. Thus, there is often a pretty large turnover of students/athletes. Also, we all know the powerhouse high school that Fort Campbell is in Kentucky football. I also heard that many of the best football players transfer their as well. I dont know how much truth there is to this, so can a Clarksvillian reply if this indeed is happening there?
  11. Thanks for researching that for me. I can see Jeff being a very good coach as I saw those qualities about him even back then. Henry County plays Northeast next week for homecoming.
  12. Well, with an already rain soaked field and a forcast for rain today and tomorrow.....we should get to see how how the Pats do in a mud bowl. Purhaps this can be the game we can see what Shonte is really made of in terms of his passing game....any thoughts?
  13. Trulyblessed....it was actually baseball we played together in college say about 1989-90....thanks, I would love to hear from him.
  14. It's odd that I'm following this thread at all.....I'm a huge Northwest Vikings fan. I think we played very well against a great team and for that I'm greatful plus I see a little bit of victory for the Vikes in that game. Besides your football team, I'm a huge fan of a big crowd. Your following was profitable for our gate, which in turn is great for our team. I follow a high school team in Fyffe, Alabama...have some pretty good teams and even followed them to state. They close the town down and everybody goes. It is awesome. We don't have that here in Montgomery Co much anymore....so to see it in action is a good thing. Football is more than just the game. Hey, I played college ball with a guy from Fyffe.....any chance you know a guy named Jeff Brooks? He would be like around age 40.
  15. Good, I stirred the pot a little as I intended and it got yall talking....keep it coming. Another noteworthy sign as to whether a team is a true #1 is if they can hold the position week after week. Its one thing to reach the top....its another to keep it each week with that big ole target on their back with everyone wanting to be the one to knock them off their perch.
  16. Well, here it is Wednesday and we've heard very little about West Creek. I suppose this is predicted to be a blowout? If we are not gonna get posts on this game, then let me ask another question. I noticed that Gaddis brought freshman Storme Hilliard in the game last week to return a punt....any comments on this player or any other up and coming freshman players?
  17. In my honest opinion, you would be very lucky(or unlucky depending on how one looks at it) to find any tournaments in this region after the 3rd weekend in October due to winters approach. However, if you do, its not uncommon for a player to pick up with another team to play while their team is in the "offseason" so to speak. My suggestion would be to just let the coaches of the team you are committed to know about it to ease their minds that you are not leaving the team.
  18. So have you folks noticed that Liberty Tech is now ranked 4th in 4A, and have gone 3-0 since our win against them in the season opener? I agree that we have faced as good if not better competition than our regular season schedule last year. We are just a good team, and I do not believe we are ranked #1 because of the success of the last 3 years.
  19. Im having some trouble going to out of town games right now as my wife has gone back to school. I hope to though. I can relate to the 86 partion of your user name, so guess we know each other?
  20. I agree with your analysis 100%. Everyone wanted to be a part of the "show" last season, and this season HC is more of a "normal" team. This team can go far, but will have a much more difficult time with the Melrose type teams. I am very interested to see just how far this team goes. A first round exit would not surprise me, but a state title would not surprise me either. I agree, its real football this year, which may help our boys as they have to fight each Friday night. The team has some obvious areas to improve on, and I believe we got the right coaching staff to see that happens. From my experience as a coach, we can only hope that the team peaks at the right time when the competition gets stronger.
  21. It seems many of us have been less enthused with this years team, as I think many newer fans were caught up the Marsalis and Dominique "show." However, I feel this years team is more of a "traditional" football team, more balanced as a complete team. It is taking more of a team effort with this years squad to get it done. We've got to get on board(me included) more with the team to show them our support as I can assure you the players read our posts on CoachT. Kudos to the loyal posters on here who have remained faithful. God forbid it takes a loss to get us stirred up on here!!!!
  22. Any word on how the freshmen did tonight?
  23. Congrats Yanker....JCM and Henry Co go back many many years, and used to be one of the biggest rivalries in West TN....hopefully yall are on the the road to recovery where you belong....maybe this matchup can be revived in the near future And you are right on about us HC fans.....we would all be better off if we would join forces and team up against the likes of FatCat when they invade our threads instead of cutting each others throat.
  24. Ditto, ditto, and ditto again......remember, your opinion is not valid on here unless you are a "former coach" lol
