I was one of the Coaches, I had all my test passed and so did all the other coaches except for one. He had taken the test but did not get his results back until June. The position of BI teacher was open and he had previously taught that position. He had everything he needed to teach that class but was let go anyway. Another who was teaching a lower level BI class was told you could not recieve tenure while teaching BI (Which is a LIE, because I did) so he was let go. I was sick of the way the director of schools was treating us along with some of the fans so I left on my on. The head Coach had been told that he could either take the black out of the uniforms or he would be fired the very day we got back from Knoxville in the semifinals. He stuck it out for one more year and left. Yes, we were run off, and know there is not enough money to get one ogf the prime coaches in the state up there. Many of them called Pat Dyer when he took the program over and told him he was making a bad choice. Their biggest 2 reasons were the fare weather fans and the politics. Thankfully he ignored them. I still love Macon County and travel up weekly to either visit my parents, grandparents, or siblings, but the no it alls that only see what is going on under the lights on Friday night are going to have to back off if you ever want to build a program up there. I'll admit I'm totally ignorant on this but I have to ask...Why does Macon County play this team? Who decides that?

Everyone loses.....fans don't go so the gate is down, consessions down....I just don't understand...wouldn't Macon be better playing someone closer to home such as Allen County, Red Boiling Springs, Jackson County????

IMO - One thing that will improve Macon's program will be for the parents to be supportive of their children and the school program and let the coaches do their jobs and the boys to work their behinds off and give 110% at every snap of the ball.

IMO macon would be more successful if the defensive line would improve on getting penetration. I know alot of people in Macon and support from the parents is NOT their problem.....IMO...

Macon better be ready next week PC looks goooooooood!!!!!!!

Riverdales field has always been in great shape the coaches put alot of hours in to maintain it! Practice field is also better than some playing fields!

I am from the old school and it just turns me upside down when people say "He is talented but won't play much because he is a sophomore or a freshman." Since when did being an underclassman mean you get less playing time than upperclassmen, even if the underclassman is more talented. Now, I know that not all coaches see it this way, i.e. Smyrna started 2 freshmen last year and were 5A state champs. But, this does seem to be an issue with a lot of schools. /excl.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":excl:" border="0" alt="excl.gif" />

The way coaching is today a coach would be crazy to play an upperclassman that didn't do as good a job as an underclassman. Also, if a team loses say the first 7 games should a coach go ahead and look to next year and get some experience for his younger players? However, the underclassman would have to be head and shoulders about the senior.
