Trousdale attacked the SCHS offense. I was laughed at and mocked 4 weeks ago and saw this coming then, this is only the beginning. SCHS has a weak interior line and plays to predictable. Sorry fans just the truth. I was at the game. I cannot believe that as an adult you would post such garbage on a website designed to elevate high school sports. The comment that I deleted from this post has been forwarded to Coach T. I can only hope that he will remove you from these boards.

I have heard that excuse for years. Dont tell me that SCHS has not had a kid with the ability to go to D1. Now you think about that and let it burn in real good and come to your own conclusions. I guarantee you that rb and ot at schs that year could both have played d1. Maybe not at LSU but they were good enough to make a roster somewhere.

Yes, Lacy as we called him and myself were both hired by the late Bill Davidson. They have named the dressing room after Lacewell. Lacewell was a great one, alot of people do not know that he tutored Ron Meeks-Indianapolis Colts, Steve Caldwell Tennessee and Tommy Tuberville Auburn.

How many state championships does SCHS have? I promise working with the least amount of coaches works. You can hold each position coach more accountable instead of pointing fingers. The smallest variance in how a particular technique is played can make the difference between losing and winning. And dont give me stats and scores. How has SCHS faired against unfamiliar competition at playoff time. Big games typically can be won or lost on 3-5 plays that often are overlooked as insignificant but set the tone. I was visiting family over Thanksgiving in Carthage around 2004, I think. The year that you all played Fulton, there was a dropped pass in the endzone by a schs receiver, if he catches that I really do believe that you had a chance. That one play set the tone for the rest of the game. There were many missed oppurtunities in that game, the game was much closer than the score to the trained eye. You had the players, to many coaches led to confusion. I remember seeing 4 different coaches yelling at players in the secondary, it should have been ONE not 4, the safety was confused and touchdown and then the 4 coaches pointing fingers, NO ACCOUNTABILTY!

I am 63 years old, whats a playstation? Ive tried to keep up with the coaching techniques but Ive never heard of that. Sorry. I have enjoyed chatting with you though. Sorry it takes longer for me to respond my typing skills are not up to par. Look it comes down to players in the end. A good player can make it look like you are the best coach in the world. Whats the difference between a good call and a bad one? Nothing, in the end you cannot control the execution. These are children we are talking about I wish them all the luck in the world with their lives,and have fun. One of the most beautiful gifts that we have are memories, in the end thats all you have.

I apologize to all that I have offended. Let me ask you this. Do the coaches put academics first or football? If you can answer that honestly that will answer alot. I have seen to many coaches who teach just so they can coach,this almost always will make a bad teacher. Remember teacher first and then coach. Lead by example!

I am always willing to listen. First I do not know SCHS tendencies that well. This basic alignment allows for quick adjustments to be made in a split second. The key is that those outside d linemen are actually hybrid lb/db they have to be able to lock up on a receiver and stop the run. Put your best athlete at one of those positions. Bring those inside lbs all night long and let the safety man the middle, you will get burned its very risky but when you are playing a better team you have to take big risks. Stop the run and make that qb beat you.

Accountability and standardization. How many of those coaches have kids that play on that team? That should not be allowed if that is the case. Do not believe for one second that those recreational coaches will not politic for their own, if you do not believe that then you are kidding yourself. How many of these coaches are not even employed by the school system? Ive seen this happen before and all it takes is one serious injury and the blame game begins and a law suit will follow. Recreational coaches should not be allowed to coach.

Look son, we all usually start out as high school coaches, I did, some get lucky mainly because of politics and go right into college coaching. I coached @ Arkansas State. To give you a little history I graduated high school from Pensacola high school in florida was recruited and played 4 years @ Georgia Tech. Got my first coaching job at a small high school in Ft. Walton Beach, FL coaching the o-line. After leaving Ft. Walton went up the street to Niceville, Fl as assistant head coach, the head coach at Niceville was hired as o-line coach @ Texas Tech and recommended me for the position of TE coach. Stayed in Lubbock for 10 years and worked my way up the ranks. A old friend of mine from Ft. Walton was now the AD @ Arkansas state and hired me as o-line coach. The point that Im trying to get across to you young man is that remember to network and respect and treat all fellow coaches likewise you never know who will be your next boss in this business. I was not putting high school coaches down. Remember that its not about coaching its about being a role model first and then a coach to those kids. Earning their respect has nothing to do with coaching. I have coached many kids that have gone to the next level and they all had one thing in common, the abilty to admit that they did not know it all and the ability to listen and comprehend. One more point is that I do not believe in having a coaching staff the size of Texas. No high school program should have more than 5 coaches. The reason for this is to set the standard and accountability. I got a copy of your county football guide and was digusted. Way to many so called coaches. That usually will lead to confusion and hesitation by players. Trust me son I did this for a total of 43 years at various levels.

There is a reason that they are coaching at a small high school in middle TN. Lets remember that High School coaches are teachers first and coaches second. At the college level even at a small college where I coached we were hired as professional coaches. High school coaches are professional teachers who coach. Remember their first responsibilty is to the community to provide education to students. My grandson is playing at a high school in the middle TN area and sometimes it drives me crazy to watch these coaches and their so called systems. I do not have an answer for Livingstons coaches inability to relent to change or I should say make drastic adjustments. Obviously Sc was and is a better team than livingston and some teams have that one special player that is going to make plays regardless of adjustments made.

Great alignment to stop SCHS.

If I was Gville I would gamble, thats the only chance they have. I would asign my best athlete on the field to be responsible for and hit the SCHS qb every play. That player would be responsible for harassing the qb all night. Load up the defensive front let the lbs attack gaps all night and see if the qb can beat me. You will probably get burned but attack, no read and react defense when you are outmanned like Gville is. Man coverage no zone and blitz all night.

It does not matter if you have 4.3 speed or 4.8 speed you have to have good interior play. SCHS has a problem inside. I promise you that it will show up at some point during the season. No panic I hope that schs can work it out, but at this point they have alot of work to do.
