If this is true, then Maryville would only have to find 2 nonregion games. Alcoa would be one of them and who do you think the other would be. Wouldn't it be funny if nobody played Maryville and they had to go out of state to find an opponeent (we all know here in East Tenn. nobody can hold a candle to Maryville).

Congrats on the 65 game streak Rebels. Now to Powell. The only thing worse right now, this minute, might be my Devils. I have held to this statement, I don't think Coach Low is the man for the job, just like I said I don't thinnk Coach Williams is the man for the offense coordinator at Halls. Now I know the Panther faithful, will get on here and blast me. Lets call a diamond a diamond. Does Powell have the ability to win with there athletes in this region? If so , then why are they not winning. If not, what can they do to turn it around? Are they a school that is a closed zone like Halls? How did the last two coaches become successful and now the success is no where to be found.

No way should we have lost this game tonight. Our defense didn't stepup when they had to. Our offense has sputtered and stuttered all season long except when we play against a lessor opponent. If we continue at this rate we want win 5 games. I am just like all of the Halls faithful, I had such high hopes for this season, and now unless we right the ship, we are looking at tumbling backwards. We have the players in place now we need to get an offense and defense in place tha can run the ball and stop the run against GOOD teams. We haven't dune that yet. Not quite sure if the players are giving there 100% each and every day in practice and in the games. Maybe this is just a frustrated fan, but I expected more, a lot more than what we have shown. I will never go against the Devils, but I can for sure let my feelings be know. Last but not least, we have always been known as a smash in the mouth football team. Am I stupid or do we get away from that when it comes down to crunch time? Sorry but I just thought of another question - This is Coach J's 4 th year and I am in no way blaming him for the recent struggles, but how does he measure up with other coaches in the region in there 4 th season. For that matter how does he measure up with the history of Halls coaches in there 4th season.

Congrats to the Powell panthers for beating a hopelessly bad Karns team. Karns has gone through more problems,i.e. former coach, than USC scored against OSU last night. HTV, I don't recall Powell as haveing outstanding kickers, but consistent kickers. Maybe your plea with enable the Coaches to once again reach the recruiting pinnacle they once enjoyed with there former coach.

I don't think fans will stay home because of higher gas prices. I think they will stay at home because Powell will be taken out behind the barn and buggy whipped. AND THEY WILL LIKE IT.

Someone said it best earlier when they commented that they didn't know if Coach Williams was the right fit as off.cord. Well now that Coach Ward has been at practice for the last 2 weeks, you will see the offense continually show improvement. I have nothing against the little fellar, but he ain't Coach Ward. If Coach Ward has shown up the week of the Sevier Co game we would have won that one., Let Coach Williams hold a clip board or relay the calls to the rest of the coaches, better yet put him in the pressbox so he can see the field and how things are operating from above.

They have beat us what 1 or 2 times in the last 50 years. This Friday aint gonna be the third time either. Sory about the double quote thing.

I am totally concerned about our team with all of our injuries. Are the kids just not tuff enough anymore or our coaches too soft on them. With all of the preseason hype I would have thought prolly 1-1 but quite possibly 2-0. Now here we set 0-2 and a chance to go 0-3. If we don't win tonight, I'm afraid our faithful might change the name of our field to Joel Helton Field since he wins more games here then anyone other than George Quarles. Seriously, congrats to the little fat man Denzel "Dink" Adams on his name being added to the field.

It must be bad, not even HTV has come to the aid of Matt Lowe and the Panther Football program yet!

Now I have not read all of the comments because of time, but are they stopping coaches supplements only OR are they stopping sports all together. If its only the coaches pay, they probably don't make enough to matter. If the coaches really cared about the players, they would coach for free, just like the youth leagues do. Just my opinionfrom Knoxville. I sure hope Knoxville doesn't go down this highway.

pirateman894, You area typical Halls parent. I haven't seen the coaches miss a block, miss a tackle, for fumble the ball. The coaches put the kids in th eright spots for them to be successful. If they arent successful then either the player didn't listen to his coach, the scheme is too hard, or they arent good enough to play the position.

zcar - The coaches do a great job MOST OF THE TIME. Who named you judge and jury. I heard this from Lou Holz just yesterday - coaches coach and fans cheer, coaches dont need to cheer and fans dang sure dont need to coach. That is the problem in Halls and most high school settings - the parents and fans know way more then the coaches. I'm guilty too - I still dont know if Coach Williams is the right guy to run an offense, but then again how hard can it be to call sweep, trap, dive off tackle 80% of the time. Big question - are the players doing what the coaches are teaching Mon - Thurs? If not maybe it's they can't learn or they are not being taught good enough or its to hard. I always heard coaches say KISS - keep it simple stupid. Winning is really simple to do when you get down to it. Whatever we do, do it better then the other team and we win!

The Devils will romp and stomp a mud hole in Sevier Co tomorrow night. I have but one question...why in the world do we play Sevier Co.? They are a 5A team that won the state in 1999. Couldn't we be playing someone here in K-town, instead of travelling to Sevierville for a game every other year?
