  1. If you don't want him, I'll put him on my team any day. Get a clue. It's not his fault that he and 2 other PLAYERS don't have any help.
  2. I like a person who's not afraid to call it like he sees it.
  3. I'm 99% sure we didn't do it from 84-87. I'll need to check my yearbooks for the other 1%. I think the most we scored in a game in 1987 was 48 or 49.
  4. Cody was wearing #72 instead of his usual #76. I have been informed that was his dad's number when he played.
  5. It was 3rd string plus the waterboy. Do you want them to not play and just lie down. Or better yet, say "We don't want the ball, you can have it." Not a single pass was thrown on that drive, all running plays. I could be wrong, but I think it was a freshman that scored the final TD. We don't have #6 on the roster.
  6. Wish he was in the SEC. But, a good school and the football program just got better. Congratulations Cody, and good luck. Guess we'll have to see you on TV unless you have a game back home.
  7. My son Derek and I had a good conversation with Cody at the MTSU camp over the summer. He talked very highly of Kentucky then. But, that was before some of his other visits. We talked about UT, but that didn't appear to be an option at the time. I hope it is UT as I am a Volunteer all the way. If I was a gambling man I would take Kentucky(+1), the one being Cody. He is a fine young man and we will wish him the best wherever he chooses to go.
  8. Does anyone know the status of Jacob London?
  9. That's the whole point! Well, I have been waiting to hear from you! I knew you couldn't leave that one alone. How do you think the game will turn out? Don't give us how you want it to turn out but how you really think. How is the QB situation going to be? Looks like it will be raining so the team that runs the ball the best should have a huge advantage. I think the Wildcats wearing purple with win this one. Now your turn Debowsdad. I really don't have a gut feeling about this one. Mainly because I don't know much about LC. I do believe it will be another close one. Our defense played very well against Siegel. If you take away one big play and/or one short field, we win. I see that you have 3 RB's in the top 6 in the district. (From district8aaa.com) If you have a game breaker like Howse(Siegel) or Martin(FC), I would have to say advantage LC. If they are all power runners, then I think the game boils down to ball control & field position. We have a game breaker ourselves in Zach Bryson. If he can hit the corner and if we can give him the holes, he could be a difference maker. As far as the QB situation is concerned, "It's up in the air." (Pun intended) Regardless of who is at QB, if we don't win the battle up front, it could be a long night.
  10. Not very bold considering they are both the "WILDCATS"! I could even make that statement and be right!! That's the whole point!
  11. Thanks for the compliment! Yeah, he took a beating last night and is really sore. But, not as bad as he is beating himself up. He really believes they could have won if he would have made some different reads. Personally, I'm not sure if he had enough time to make all of his reads. Also, after taking the BIG hit, I don't think he was quite the same afterwards. He said his back tightened up more & more as the game progressed and it may have had an impact on his throwing. I'm just glad we've got a long weekend for him to recover. He'll bounce back. He always does.
  12. if riverdale only beat siegel by 1 point...and really could have lost to siegel...then logic would tell us...this will be a blowout...4 plays, 2 plays, 7 plays...it should not matter...yes, anything is possible but it smells, looks, walks, and talks like a blowout! i would agree that siegel's secondary is certainly lacking...and LB's are average...but their Dline and their overall scheme (coach wyatt) and hustle should put big pressure on Tully's QB... I'M BACK ...to say that i certainly was wrong in this game being a blowout...obviously it was not!...surprised, confused-yes! either T-town has really, really, improved since they played at blackman or Siegel is going backwards...and a little razzel/ dazzel does not hurt either ...congrads siegel on the win...and...great effort by Tully! This is debatable, Siegel's defensive front may be the best we have seen this year. Defensive closing speed was very good.
  13. Where is Mac these days? Is he still at Marshall Co.?
  14. No. One move was enough. Plus, why would we leave one of the best schools & coaches in the state?
  15. He is now. But, he was the quarterbacks coach at Tullahoma 2 years ago. We hated see him go, but proud that he got a head coaching job.
  16. Are you serious or being a little rhetorical? I just hope you are right.
  17. This game is somewhat personal for us as a family and it has nothing to do with Siegel. It's the fact that one of the TV commentators happened to have been a small influence in bringing Derek to Tullahoma. I am referring to Kelly Holcomb. Derek attended his camp in Murfreesboro a couple of times & Kelly felt as though he had the tools & talent to benefit from high level quarterback coaching. We had a good conversation and he shared with us about his move to Lincoln County as a teenager. After all things considered, the logical choice was Tullahoma & Coach Steve Matthews. I hope we play up to our potential in this one. I think Binns is right, if we can score 21 points it will be anybody's game.
  18. Tullahoma scrimmaged Riverdale and played Cookeville earlier this season. Coming from someone who has seen both of these teams, I think this prediction is about right. Both teams are very good, but Riverdale has the edge in size & athleticism. Cookeville has the edge in team discipline.
  19. Derek talked to Jared earlier this evening. He says his mobility in his shoulder is good but still has a little stiffness in his neck. Looks like he is going to be okay. By the way, what's to let slide? That one dropped! Hey, I thought the O-line was supposed to be "quick" to their blocks.
  20. Okay, I didn't mean to open up a can of worms here! I responded to your previous post the way I did because it came across as though it was Derek's fault we lost our first 3 games. There have been those who have said that Derek was replaced at QB because of things he "did or didn't do."(I won't go into details about what some have said because none of it is true.) The fact is, we have been so thin athletically, primarily due to early season injuries, that Derek has had to be used in many different roles. He did not "lose" his job as the starting QB. Davis, who is a good athlete, became the starter which allowed us to keep more athletes on the field. This is not my opinion, this came straight from the horse's mouth. And so far we've been fortunate to get most of the injured players back in time for when others go down. Now, with regard to your question, our line play has improved as the season has progressed except for the hiccup against Warren County. So, I think he will do fine when he's behind the line. Now, I will take issue with some of your other comments regarding the line's quickness & discipline. As far as quickness, the line has improved quite a bit since the beginning of the season. Holes are opening up quicker and they are not allowing as many sacks. Against Shelbyville we did a good job of opening up holes, but Shelbyville did a pretty good job of closing them. With regard to discipline, this is another area that has improved since early in the season. Although, we had a couple of drives stall against Shelbyville due to a holding call and a couple of procedure penalties. With our next 2 games, are we going to have to improve even more in these areas? The answer is, Absolutely. But, I have every bit of confidence that our coaching staff will have them ready for both games. I will conclude with this: It's okay to call 'em like you see 'em, just don't be so cocky & arrogant about it. Debowsdad.........excellent post! First off I didn't feel as if I was being arrogant or cocky by asking why everyone would be so excited by the new quarterback coming back after he lost as the starter the first three games. My mistake by getting the number of games wrong. It was a question and you were the one that had feelings on your sleeves! First things first, Derek did an excellent job Friday night! What happened the first part of the season is beyond me. I made an observation and said the O'line was undisiplined. That is because they had so many holding penalties. I never said anything about quickness. I feel as if I do have my facts right and you were the one that asked me back. Old man was the one that made the mistake on the line coach but he later said his bad. I never questioned the O'lines ability. They were said to be young and therefore that is where the mistakes are coming from. You were defending and did open some worms but I understand. I will be watching Thursday night and will again call 'em as I see em! It will not be intended as cocky or arrogant and if it hurst your feelings I will give my apologies now. I would also like to say I hope the Davis kid is going to be OK! He really got popped. Til Thursday Okay, maybe I was little snappy. For that, I apologize. I just get irritated when some talk about mine as if they know what is really going when they really don't. Okay, technically, you didn't say "quickness." Just calling it like I see it! LOL
  21. I know this, I am talking about wild card spots. Shelbyville's overall record will be better than Tullahoma's if LCHS wins that game. Just remember I said it 1st. I'm trying to figure this out too. Wouldn't district placement & head to head come before overall record?
